Well, in the words of Tiana-

Who was the main person behind the sound design for Splash btw? They deserve more credit. They really sat there and tailor made the heck out of that soundtrack to sync up with scenes along the flume to give us little moments like the possums harmonizing. Even more impressive than POTC and HM in that regard. Those two attractions have great arrangements of the same song throughout the ride but they got really granular with Splash.

I know it's not tradition to put credits at the end of rides, but if they started doing a plaque somewhere at the exit of each ride with the names of the top people who worked on it, or something, that could be cool.

Hot take:

Since MKs have had a month to go and ride TBA, they should blocked out for the next month so that vacationers don't have to fight for VQs with people who have already experienced it.

Most are blocked out during this time period anyways, only dates available are a few days during the week in December and only for the tops Keys.

After seeing the WDW version months ago, it's interesting to pop in here and see all the same complaints about this version. I'm probably not the first one to say this, but my first impression from the POV videos is that this seems like they designed the experience for the Disneyland version and then stretched what they came up with to fill the WDW version. It's the exact same experience, but the condensed layout of the DL version makes it flow a little better and feel less empty.

It's still not great, by any means. But this is a better execution than WDW's.

That's a lot like they did for Galaxy's Edge. Create the Disneyland version and then plug it into DHS with no real changes.

Also would it have been so hard to put some pirate's firefly effects in the trees especially outside?

Since there’s not really a Bayou Country thread and this isn’t a rumor so I’m not going to make a whole thread for it: What’re the odds the Country Bear Jamboree returns to Disneyland (as the Country Bear Musical Jamboree)?

  • They just received a new refresh to their restaurant in Bayou Country that makes the CBJ theming more prominent
  • The new cast member uniforms for Bayou Country have a realistic bear as the only animal on it
  • New uniforms also have the quote “A Honey of a Place”, referencing Bear Country’s tagline (the CBJ land that use to be in Disneyland)
  • Winnie the Pooh doesn’t fit the theme of the south/bayous, the CBJ easily could given the show is meant to be from southern America
  • All of the Pooh theming is gone aside from the ride
  • Pooh was pretty much absent from all the Bayou Country marketing
  • The CBJ fits the theme of music playing talking animals that TBA has going on
  • The CBMJ has been very popular and successful at MK and objectively has more relevant IP usage than Pooh (sorry Pooh, I love ya but Disney doesn’t really seem to feel the same way)
  • The Country Bears in general have been seeing a lot of usage from Disney across social media and in the parks (like the random Big Al statue in DCA) and are more relevant than they’ve been in years
But of course, it’s much easier to just leave Pooh as is even if it doesn’t fit the land at all than it is to dig the remaining DL CBJ figures out of storage, modify them with modern parts like MK, and rebuild the whole theater (I’d imagine just one theater this time instead of two). What do you all think? Possible, or not a chance?

Personally if they do bring them back, I hope they take it as a chance to redo the entire show layout. I’d do three sets of curtains on either side of the stage, so Ernest and Trixie can finally join in for show finales instead of being left out. Plus, you wouldn’t have to spend much more money since you’re axing four turn tables and their mechanics (I’d keep Shaker and the right Henry on turn tables, so Henry can go on the left where Shaker is during earlier parts of the show, and the right Henry can swap to the variant with Sammy at the end) and only needing to use that turn table money for two more sets of curtains and some stage fixtures.

EDIT: Just wanted to clarify I mean the CBMJ coming to Disneyland

In the super unlikely chance it comes back, it'll be the current WDW version where they just sing Disney songs.

Right, but the scale of everything remained the same. Here, they stretched the scenes, which decently fill out the DL Splash Mountain layout, to fill WDW's layout which is bigger, and that translated to worse pacing and a greater feeling of scarce, empty scenes.

Never happen. Pooh bear makes more retail money than the Country Bears ever did.

Opening day and the ride still isn’t even open. Breakdowns galore, Disney is getting really good at this, if they keep this up, they can get the Guinness world record for most consistent breakdowns for a theme park.

There’s a rumor in the Haunted Mansion Gift Shop thread that Pooh is marked for more Star Wars space.

Until WDI re-tools the fireflies scene and the lift hill, this ride will feel incomplete to me. In its current state, the attraction is “fine” or even “pretty good” but unfinished.
