Perfect way to describe what they did to Splash. There is not one single ounce of imagination or creativity in this ride. "ThEy SuRe CaN PlAy!". Phhhhh! Give me a break.
IIRC, the only non-singing dialogue on Splash was the vultures, right? Their wise-cracking jokes about your impending doom were far more creative than anything said on this unimaginative mess.

Tiana: "We gotta keep searchin' high and low!"
Louis: "How low can I go?"

Fair question, Louis. Fair question.

“Hiiiiiiigh and low”

“We Haaaaaave to find them”

“They can Plaaaayyy”

Does anybody else find the repetitiveness or her delivery annoying? Especially for such short statements that are directed at us.

It's almost like two different teams were used. One just for the attraction and one just for the land around it and they didn't compare notes.

Yep.

It also feels like 35 different teams worked on TBA itself and never compared notes. Individual components of the attraction are actually very strong but overall it lacks cohesion and feels like less than the sum of its parts. It’s just sad; so much squandered potential.

it is annoying, pandering and boring. There is nooooo story on this ride. No begining, middle, or end. For a ride with the word 'Adventure' in the title, they sure are lacking one. Sure the T-1,000 animatronics or whatever stupid number Disney calls them are impressive but with no story- who cares? What is the point of a good plate with nothing on it???

- Rabbit trap Br'er Bear/Fox
- "Nothin' but BEES!" Br'er Bear
- Br'er Rabbit laughing at Br'er Bear
- Br'er Bear getting stung
- Br'er Rabbit captured pleading to be let go
- "Well Br'er Rabbit, I think I'm gonna SKIN YA!" "Go ahead Br'er Fox, but please don't fling me into that briar patch!"
- "Briar patch? Well I'm glad I thought of that! Cause that's just where you're going! Here you go!" as the logs drop.
- Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear yelling in pain running from Br'er Gator.

Splash also knew how to make the dialouge feel like the characters in question were actually saying it, rather than just screaming "THESE CATS CAN PLAAAAAYYYYY!!!!" in the exact same way as "THIS BAND IS COOKIN!"

Definitely agree. The only parts at Disneyland that might be better are the Zydeco and lift hill scenes (and only marginally). A far cry from the two Splashes that felt almost completely different in every comparable scene. Though I preferred MK’s overall (it was my first, and it was how I learned about the stories), DL had a ton of unique attributes that I absolutely adored.
I think the staging for both band segments are far better with DLR's, the splash down into the bayou is better at DLR as its not washed out by the sun as it is in Florida. Laughin Place in Florida has the fountains, but otherwise looks the same. The final Odie scene before unload also looks a little better at Disneyland, but the lead into it has decor in Florida where its dark at Disneyland.

For me:

WDW TBA - 4/10
WDW SM - 7/10
DLR TBA - 6/10
DLR SM - 9/10

lmao @ T-1000 animatronics. Imagining Tiana holding up a photo and saying "Have you seen this boy?" as you pass by now

I was more specifically talking about the consistent complaints of "no story" or "dumb story", which is also thrown at Rise too.

Also I don't think I've ever said TBA didn't leave something to be desired, especially for many here. But I can only give my personal opinion on what I like and how I feel about something, and I think for what it is, and the audience that is the primary consumer, I think it'll be enjoyed by the masses.
Never heard anyone say Rise does not have a story. Most say it has too much story ny having too many pre-shows or they wished it was themed to the Original Trilogy. Other than that- everything else written about Rise is very positive.

Everybody seems to have one word for this ride and that word is “Cute”. I don’t know about you but cute just doesn’t do it for me when you replaced one of the greatest rides in Disney park history.
It's a small world I'd say is cute.

Splash was the whole package, cute and scary.

As mentioned in a subsequent post -

Its the "recruit" story complaint, often called weak, boring, passive, and non-immersive, about being recruited for a "mission" that didn't need us in the first place. Same complaint for Smugglers, MB, WebSlingers, and many more.

This falls under people saying it has too mich story. Other than what I pointed out people love Rise. No one can say they Love Tiana's

You can't say that, have you polled all 8.2 Billion people on the planet? Did they all say they didn't or won't love TBA?

I can guarantee with 100% certainty there will be people that will love TBA and it'll end up being one of their favorites. Just because it won't be yours or some others here doesn't mean there won't be people that do.

Here's all the dialogue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

Scene 1- Mill
[Tiana] “Hey there y’all are! Louis is up ahead, let’s join him and find a band for our celebration! To the bayou!”
[Tiana] “Welcome y’all! Let’s meet up with Louis and find some musicians for our party! Look out bayou, here we come!”
[Tiana] “Hey y’all, thanks for helpin’ me look for musicians for our party tonight! Louis, they’re on their way!”

[Louis] “Yoo-hoo! Any bands down there?! Come out, come out, wherever you are!”
[Louis] “Yoo-hoo! Calling all musicians! Man, it’s hard to find a band in the bog!”
[Louis] “Hello? Anyone down here who can blow a horn and jam? Hello?!”

[Mama Odie] “If you’re lookin’ for musicians, ya don’t have far to go! Tell the people Mama told ya so! Ah-hahaha!”
[Mama Odie] “Gumbo gumbo in a pot. We need a band, whatcha got?”

Scene 3 – Zydeco
[Louis] “Tiana was right! There are musicians out here, and they are cooking!”
[Tiana] They’re the bee’s knees! I would love for y’all to play at my party!”

[Louis] “Tiana wasn’t kidding y’all! This zydeco band she found sure can play! Hallelujah!”
[Tiana] “They sure can play! We’ll ask them to join the band for sure!”

Scene 4- Rara
[Louis] “Tiana you were right! The bayou’s got just what we need!”
[Louis] “My, my! This Rara band can jammmm!!!!”
[Louis] “Mmmm, listen to this! These cats CAN PLAAAY!!!”

Scene 5 – Louis Butt
[Tiana] “I’m asking all of them to play at the party! But we need to keep searching high and low!”
[Louis] “How low can I go?!”

[Tiana] “I hope they all come to the party to play, but let’s explore a little more!”
[Louis] “How’s this?”

Scene 6 – Dip Drop
[Mama Odie] “Time to think big! Time to get tiny!” (Tiny echoes as the log drops)
[Mama Odie] “Y’all ready to get down to business? Ah-hahah!!!”
[Mama Odie] “Unusual places hides unusual talent!”
[Mama Odie] “Talent’s everywhere if ya dig down deep enough! Ah- hahaha!”

[Tiana] “Where’d our friends go?”
[Louis] “I dunno!”
[Tiana] “We have to find them!”

Scene 7 – Tiana and Louis Peer In

[Louis] “Hmmmm, y’all got itty bitty little buddies!”
[Tiana] “But you found the sound I was craving!”

[Louis] “Y’all small as frogs!”
[Tiana] “Ha! Been there, done that! But you found the sound I was craving!”

[Louis] “Wow! This joint is hopping!”
[Tiana] “These tiny musicians you found really bring the heat!”

[Louis] “Huh?! How’d you get so teeny-weeny?”
[Tiana] “These tiny musicians you found really bring the heat!”

Scene 8 – Big Lift Hill

[Mama Odie] “Let’s getcha big again, ‘cause the bigger you are, the bigger the Splash you’ll make at the party!”
[Mama Odie] “Ah-haha! Hope y’all enjoyed getting tiny! Now let’s get y’all back to your big, beautiful selves!”
[Mama Odie] “Juju says its time I getcha back to size! Invite all your tiny friends to tag along too!”

[Mama Odie] -Juju pops up- “Juju! Be careful with my beignets you bad boy!”
[Mama Odie] “Remember, this party wouldn’t be what it is without you! Ah- Haha! Bye!”
[Mama Odie] “Tiana sure knows how to make a party special! Hee-hee!”
[Mama Odie] – Juju pops up- “Juju!”
[Mama Odie] “What a band!”

I love Rise and all the preshows and all of the story behind it.......but......I do agree that the whole "recruits" part of it was unnecessary. We could have easily been citizens or guests of the planet (who may have at least been sympathetic to the Resistance cause) and needed to be evacuated because the First Order was coming. I think there would have been more of a feeling of danger and dread as an innocent bystander than someone who was forced to believe they voluntarily (or involuntarily) recruited into the Resistance. It would have felt a bit more passive and given a "caught in the wrong place at the wrong time" kind of vibe.
