Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

You may not have chased her off, but your comment here is so dismissive of her experience and what she saw.

If people aren't having fun do you think they'd be laughing and having a good time? No they would be marching to Guest Services and complaining about their wasted money on a subpar experience. I highly doubt Guest Services got very many complaints after Tiana's opened, other than about its closures.
To be fair, I was agreeing with BOTH of you. :)

I think this ride experience is LESS THAN Splash Mountain. The story is a mess, and there is less to look at than before. Despite that, it is a fun ride with fun music, and most guests don't care about theming like we Disney geeks do. That was my point. We are unfortunately stuck in a time where Disney has figured out it doesn't have to "Disney" anymore and their guests are still happy on the ride, and more importantly to Disney, happy to spend more $$ on merch and food.

TL;DR: You are both right. The ride is not as good as Splash Mountain, but most guests don't care.

(P.S. I gave basically the same review of the new Country Bear Jamboree in WDW. Guests had a great time singing along, despite it being reduced to yet another Disney song clip show. 🤷‍♀️ )

Would it though? She never cared for Splash and found it 'problematic' and welcomed this change. Her opinion of this ride was positive before the concept art was even released.
I won't speak for her, but I can say she actually liked Splash and said so many times in this very thread. But she wasn't shy about talking about its issues and why a change was needed.

Yep, completely understood your points and "reviews" on it. Which was my point, overall guests aren't going to care as long as they have a good time. And in the end, especially as time goes on, it'll end up being an attraction that many guests love and will become one of their favorites.

All in all, I just really hope that the ride is retooled at some point, it’s far from perfect. The story doesn’t do it justice and is basically you're run of the mill Mickey Mouse Clubhouse problem solver story. It really needs a sense of adventure. There’s nothing wrong with Princess and the Frog being shoehorned into Splash Mountain, the only wrong thing is the execution.

Special Spice is a bad song with asinine lyrics. Honestly this ride is beyond parody with its “You’re perfect just as you are” message.

But also it’s just bland melodically. Who wrote Nothing Can Stop Us Now? Should’ve hired that person.
Probably soullessly designed to sell lyrics on T Shirts. Sherman Brothers knew how to write songs that had some wit or darkness in them.
