Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I know you disagree, but the story pacing is just different that's all. I haven't done a side by side comparison yet (and honestly I'm sure someone will shortly), but I would guess that Tiana has just as many "dead" areas albeit in different locations as Splash. Or if Tiana has more its only slight bit more.

I cant. I won't. I won't and I cant

I'd argue that actually makes the space afterwards feel  more empty. In Splash that whole first section was setting up the atmosphere, with the main "ride" not beginning until after the first drop. Now we have Tiana calling you to action on the lift, followed by the same nothingness that was there before. It creates a greater contrast than Splash had for sure.
And that may be, but it still is just different pacing. Some will called that a downgrade, but I think its just something they wanted to do to differentiate the attractions more.

Well the one thing to take away from this is that with DL's Tiana it'll goes by faster, so any pacing issues at WDW will likely not translate to DL's Tiana.

Yeah I mentioned that in the other thread. Also, not that wishful thinking has worked for me with this project, but maybe they'll course correct. The reviews are pretty bad.

I haven't looked at the WDW thread yet, I'm sure I will later today. Not sure what you think they can course correct here at this point as the story beats are what they are already. The project is likely too far along to change where things are going, or add more, unless they delayed opening until 2025, which I don't think they will do.

This also has me thinking that this, just like GE, was built specifically for DL and just shoved into WDW. So it'll likely work better at DL. Not sure if that was mentioned in the WDW thread or not after the POV was released.

Have you seen a POV? Im guessing yes.

Honestly I highly recommend anyone not watching the POV and wanting stay spoiler free to just watch it. It'll only make your experience more enjoyable when you ride. You're not avoiding seeing any fun surprises. You're just getting let down now instead of when you're on the ride. By the time you ride you may just enjoy it even more than you would have.

Hard to believe DL will be better with its structural issues - single file log zooming through scenes and you get soaked to boot. Not sure how they fix that given the storyline will be the same

Yes, I've watched the Disney Parks Ride Thru POV released earlier this morning. I've watched it a few times now.

I'm sorry but Splash was a legendary themepark ride full of life, great music, and great theming. This is a decent effort but not even close to the predecessor.

All the screens and dialogue are like so random. Besides the finale which is gorgeous, the ride just feels empty and random.

We all called it, WDI doesn't pack rides with animatronics and doesn't do good storytelling.

America Sings animatronics are gone and replaced by empty hallways.

Because you won't feel those awkward gaps as much. Also hoping for more AA's. That's a lot of America Sings AA's to throw away. But who are we kidding. Those AA's wouldn't work with this authentic, Oscar Award winning story the imagineers put together.

I don't call DLs version having "structural issues", but to each their own. And I think its the zooming through scenes and less gaps compared to WDWs version the reason why the storyline will work better.

Much better fan-made poster for the attraction; I'd get a print of this first before the official one, easily.

Comments on the "Oscar Award winning story" aside, I agree which is why I think it'll work better in DL's Tiana. I think there will be less gaps and more to look at, at least that is the hope based on the ride thru I've seen.

I'm looking forward to having the C- version of TBA instead of the D+. No pun intended.

Personally if Splash is an A/A+, then I put WDW Tiana at a solid B, DL version I hope it to be a B+.

This goes back to that conversation in the DLForward thread about me not putting a preconceived expectation on something. I just judge it on its own merits rather than what was discussed previously or what ideas were had on what should be in it.
