Oh, I think they’re fine. But they certainly would be just as much at home at Black Bear Diner or Dollywood. I would very much like to see Country Bear art in here instead.
For sure, I was actually agreeing with you! I wasn’t insinuating that you thought they looked bad. Looking back, I can see how it looks that way. Whoopsie.

Found the exact carvings they ordered. They couldn't even make their own decor.

And that’s how far we’ve fallen everybody.

Thank you inclusion committee! ;)

Do you believe there was once a time where everything in the park was made in-house? That nothing was brought in from outside?

Owls are bad omens in many, many Native cultures.

I Googled these and I found the online store for them. They're nice enough. But they're shockingly cheap. Idk I just thought Disney would put out...a little more cash.

Edit: I commented before seeing the other links lol.

Yeah I don't actually see the issue with this either. Not every inch of Disneyland was made by hand.
I don't expect it to be something I can have in my own home in a couple clicks.
Next y'all be telling me that the TV memorabilia in Back Lot restaurant aren't all replicas individually hand-crafted by Imagineers!!
I'm sure you know that memorabilia is an entirely different category from general decor.

For me, that’s not the issue. It’s like… gee, it’s such a shame that Disney has no other in-house bear characters they could maybe have an artist spend a week creating wooden plaques of? Maybe replace one set of character art with another classic character instead of going generic? Like maybe an entire theater full of freaking bears that used to exist right across the path?

I mean they literally have a restaraunt across the path right now with hand carved signs of the Country Bears.

At DCA Humphrey the Bear is part of Smoke Jumpers grill and Brother Bear is the theme of the walking trail. I guess they could use Baloo from the Jungle Book or Bongo the Bear from that Disney short?

Or maybe not even bears? Maybe Louis the Alligator or other animals from the bayou?

But, looks like this was done as quickly and inexpensively as possible. So, maybe there’s a good reason for that. Maybe the store will soon cease to exist at all OR be completely overhauled with new decor that they’re working on this very moment. I think that scenario makes the most sense.

I think D.Silentu might be on the right track in that this all could just be a quick, pleasant-if-generic placeholder.
