Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I don't trust Pro as far as I can throw him but after the chaos on Sunday nothing would shock me.
I do just wonder if they want to rip the band aid off and be done with it though I do suspect TDA is not in favor at this time with Mansion, Indy/Adventureland pathway, GRR and most of Toontown and possibly Fantasmic all down in February.

Certainly hasn’t been a great media cycle for a company that wants to put SoTS behind them.

This is a mess that they created and have never taken full responsibility for. They deserve every last bit of bad press they get.

Oh, I agree. I’d argue by calling the IP “problematic” after trying to split the baby on this for so long has been rubbing salt in the wound of the fans for a while.

And this from someone that agrees with the need for a contemporary Tiana-based retheme. The way they’ve tried to “too cute by half” the whole thing to almost pretend the SoTS property never existed at all is a little ridiculous and insulting to the customer.

Just give Splash Mountain a proper send off and accept that yes, SoTS is an antiquated property of its time that will dominate discussion for all its faults.

After all the drama from this past weekend, I wouldn't be shocked if Disney decided to quickly shut down the Disneyland version just to avoid all of the headlines reminding the public about Song of the South.

If they want less drama, they will announce a closing date in advance for Disneyland’s instead of closing it out of nowhere. DL fans are nuts.

I don’t believe this rumor.

Soooooo....did anyone see all the pathetic people selling Splash Mountain water on ebay? There was one that had 30+ bids as some point. I'm not sure which is worse, the person selling out the incredibly stupid Disney fans buying it. I sincerely hope that the guy selling it just filled up a jar from a water fountain or sink at WDW and some idiot in the fanbase bought it.

This just boggles the mind.

The ride isn't going to be bulldozed! Do some think it is going to become a parking lot or something?

Announce a closing date but make the last week Light(e)ning Lane separate purchase only. No one rides for free! Also allows them to control the crowd.

ETA and Last Guest Rider will be auctioned off.
I thought you were referring to auctioning off the actual last guest rider and was very worried for a second

I mean- I get it. Splash is my favorite thing at Disneyland, as far as I'm concerned this Tiana thing is a completely separate ride (that I will likely never ride).

So I can understand why someone would differentiate Splash Water from Tiana water- it'd be like saying Tower of Terror is the same as Guardians. Even if I think purchasing theme park water is a bit extreme. To put it politely.
