Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I'm going to Florida the last weekend it's open to visit my parents so I'll swing by for one last drop into the Briar Patch. After that it's just waiting for more information on Tiana and hoping that one it lives up to the legacy of Splash and I hope that everyone who is looking forward to this ride end up loving it. While those that are uncertain end up being pleasantly suprised.

I haven’t been on WDW’s Splash and never will unless I get there in the next few weeks so you can write off my opinion if you want but below is why I feel DLs Splash is better or at least works better for me. In short, WDW looks like it has the better show and story but DLs version appears to be more transportive.
I think WDW does a better chase lead up (I love that silhouette projection), but other than that, I definitely didn't like it and prefer Disneyland's. The DL one has some magic to it the others weren't able to recreate.

Why do we suppose Disneyland doesn't have a closure date yet?

Assuming they give at least 60 days notice, we're already looking at late March or April at the earliest.
WDW had 51 days from announcement - closure. IF DL is going out in May like speculated due to Indy's rehab and the Toontown and MMRR reopening crowds, I'd wager we'll hear a date in late March/early April

In exactly one week, Florida says goodbye to our Splash Mountain. At least one US Splash gets to live a little longer

That would been a strange move considering Br'er Rabbit and the film itself is popular over there. Br'er Rabbit was even given a prominent role at Tokyo's various Easter Parades.

Never met any Japanese person here who has any remote clue what Song of the South is or the controversy surrounding it. My guess is most guests think Splash Mountain is original.

According to that one WDW news site that shall go unnamed, they had apparently removed "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" from all park and resort music loops as well. So I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before the ride in Tokyo gets removed as well.

They were just throwing every 'bunny' character they had into that parade because... Easter + Rabbits.
