This is something that has me optimistic about the ride's remake. Splash has always been a musical attraction, something Disney doesn't do much these days. When the dust settles, the ride will remain musical with an excellent score to source. Incidentally, much as I like Dr. John, the choral arrangement of "Down in New Orleans," used for Disneyland's mini show promoting the movie, feels like it would be right at home in the new ride.

EDIT:

Agreed. The music for this attraction is the only thing I’m not concerned about.

I know I've said this before- but it's absolutely mind boggling to me that this scene will soon no longer exist at Disneyland. I mean, how much more 'Disney' can you get?

It uses character designs done by Marc Davis and sculpted by Blaine Gibson. With a song that's beat only by "When You Wish Upon a Star" in terms of enduring relevance to the Disney brand- a song that was still heavily featured in area music, parades, and other entertainment in the park until March 2020.

If this Tiana ride doesn't knock it out of the park and somehow outdo Splash Mountain it's going to be a major loss for Disneyland. And honestly, I don't think any of the songs in Princess and the Frog get any play outside of a few niche circumstances- I know the movie has its fans but I'm not sure the soundtrack can beat Splash Mountain's, especially Zip a Dee Doo Dah.
Does princess and the frog have any memorable or classic songs? No song except Wish Upon A Star holds a candle to ZIP-A-DEE-DOO-DAH anyway, but is there anything decent that would even go in the new scene that will be at the finale that just leaves you feeling as good as whats there currently?

They'll probably have the characters singing "Dig a Little Deeper" or "Down in New Orleans" during the finale. Neither song, while by no means bad, holds a candle to "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah".

To quote myself on one of the Facebook Groups:

“I wouldn’t want the retheme to keep the name “Splash Mountain”, firstly because of how they’ve treated the ride, they don’t deserve to keep the name attached to it, and secondly because I don’t want to have to have a different ride pop up in search results as if it’s the same thing. Fans of the retheme wouldn’t be “Splash Mountain fans.” I don’t want to always have to clarify that I’m a fan of the ORIGINAL SM.

Hopefully it won’t come to that, but if it did, at least don’t use a ride name that you had previously sullied.”

I see them both keeping and removing the name.

they are going to keep the name but have a ":" in it like 'SPLASH MOUNTAIN: Tiana's Adventure" or some such junk

Why would they use the same name? The name is most likely changing.

Uh, yes, that's exactly why they're doing it.

A week of discussion/arguing on Twitter is not going to cause them to completely overhaul a ride, not only in California but in Orlando too.

First of all, you have no room to give me a hard time about repeating myself seeing as you and a bunch of other people on here have been repeating the exact same argument for why Splash Mountain should be rethemed.

Second of all, it wasn't just on Twitter. Chambers' idea got entire articles about it on other sites, petitions were formed, articles were made about those petitions... this very website had a thread about the idea, for crying out loud. Even if they did come up with the idea for the retheme before Chambers did, the petitions and demands to retheme Splash Mountain were certainly responsible for Disney's announcing it when very little work was done on developing it (why else would they announce it in the middle of a PANDEMIC - as in, when they were losing money?).

I didn’t think I’d use Mission Breakout to refer to Tower of Terror, but it feels natural now.

You can apply every argument for keeping the name Splash Mountain to Guardians. Both are iconic titles that don’t directly address the source material, and theoretically could be used for their replacements. But to keep the same name would imply the ride isn’t changed. Look, they even changed the name of Snow White’s (Scary) Adventures after making a few changes.
but that change ws necessary since they re-did the facade exterior. it was no longer a tower of terror. but this is going to be the same splash facade but with a stupid ship on a tree at the top.

We don't know exactly what it'll look like. But even judging from the early concept art we've seen, it seems like just as big of a change as Guardians me. All they did was get rid of the Hollywood Tower Hotel Sign, repainted it, and added a few pipes.

We know with Frog Mountain there's going to be that tree, and then there's also a boat embedded in the tree you missed. I'm curious what other changes we'll see. I wonder if the briar patch will be changed.
No I mentioned both. its same facade with a tree that has a boat on top I said
