Free fry Friday has become a popular saying in our household. The dogs have come to expect it!

McDonald's being the closest restaurant to my house in concert with the app has meant that McDonald's has gotten more play than it should for me too.

It helps that McDonald's has drive thru down to a science and most other restaurants don't even feel like they're playing the same sport by comparison. None of this "will you sign up for our rewards" nonsense you get with some other restaurants, McDonald's is all business in a way that I admire.

We very much know that. Never seen anyone walking off the ride without a smile on their face, especially after looking at their on ride photo as they exit. You worked at Disney, you should know this better than anyone. You ever hear anyone complain about or see someone get off Splash Mountain looking sad?

Burger King was THE place to go as a child (and clearly inferior to McDonald's in my childhood eyes; the chicken tenders alone were MUCH better, and when they got that Big Kids Meal?!? McDonald's with their poser, imitation "Mighty Kids Meals" never stood a chance!), but I don't have a reason to go at this point. My friend wanted to go a few years ago and it was the first time I'd been to one in 15 years or so. Other than the fries there was nothing actively wrong with it, but I don't see much reason to go back.

They call Carl's Jr. Hardee's by me, but I've gone there even less. Before Carl's Jr. and Hardee's became interchangeable, when Hardee's was its own company, they went dramatically downhill, so I'm told, and so Hardee's was never on the table growing up. I've simply continued the habit since then.

Their numbers have been declining in Chicagoland too. I think McDonald's simply does it better and faster.

Plenty of Carl’s Jr’s in OR, but I agree Burger King seems to have declined in numbers the last 20 years. Their fries are terrible, but I’ve always liked their chicken sandwich.

McDonald’s is the closest to me too, and it’s literally the only fast food my son ever wants, so we usually stop on Friday nights after grocery shopping.

What was the dumbest complaint you ever heard while working there?

A guest asked for my full name after failing to get on Peter Pan as quickly as she expected. She told me she would be contacting her lawyer to take legal action. I happily gave it to her, middle name included, and asked if she wanted my home address as well.
