Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

It will likely play a little better given the speed we go through Disneyland's. It was the superior Splash, so it makes sense to be the superior TBA. Which is like being the tallest Munchkin.
Wait wait wait. I'm pretty sure WDW's is (or was now...sigh) widely considered the superior of the two Splashes. At the least, it's definitely my favorite. Much better pacing with better placed set pieces that allow the story to breathe more, better looking (tho fewer) animatronics, more comfortable logs, and I personally love the soundtrack more too.

that’s the thing though not everybody thinks it does and it just kind of sucks that there are people who do enjoy it that are gonna have to be hit by this forever. Even in this very thread, there are people that are getting treated differently or is if they’re stupid because they like a ride.
On the one hand, I agree with forum would be more enjoyable for everyone if we all dialed down the negativity, especially towards each other.

On the other hand, the entire forum is just for fun. We can always opt to skip topics we don't enjoy, and/or take breaks from thread topics that have become tiresome.

I daresay, a number of threads on this forum end up being a handful of forum members posting the same point/counterpoint over and over. One doesn't need to open those threads very often to follow the gist of the discussion.

The movies section of the forum is predictable in this way. Group A is mostly critical of Disney, while group B is pro-Disney. Both groups post over and over that they don't want to read each other's posts.

It might be time to consider an option where we break some of these topics into 2 threads. Where one thread is focused on what we like about a topic, and the other is more critical.

Or maybe we color code our posts or something so everyone can easily skip a portion of the posts instead of responding over and over.

As for myself, I am middle of the road on the new Tiana ride. I'm able to enjoy what it is if I'm not thinking about it too much. Tiana's has water, drops, colorful characters. I also agree with some of the critical points people have made in this thread; the ride could have been better.

I refuse to believe this because they don't seem to have taken space into account for Disney World either.
The WDW finale looks like a mess. It looks like someone's little ceramic Halloween or Christmas village slapped together. It looks like a Nascimento, and I mean that in the worst way possible.

I am sure Disneyland is gonna also be a disaster

I’ve been saying this isn’t just about budget, time or socio political constraints. Too many head scratcher decisions. Remember the banner fest they had going on and the placement of them? Yeah, it’s my belief that most of the imagineers on this project are not experienced or talented. There are a lot of baby faces coming down on those logs during testing. And it lacked a strong leader because some of those ideas should have never seen the light of day.

It’s also been really disappointing to see certain vloggers praise this thing. One who I like and tends to know what he’s talking about recently gave it a 9/10. After saying multiple times in the same video that the story is thin, the ride lacks a villain/ conflict and that many scenes are sparse. Make it make sense. I just wonder if the bonus points come from wanting to appease their viewers, appease Disney, the innate human desire to play contrarian in response to Super low expectations from all the poor reviews, socio political motivations or all of the above. Because what you’re saying and the score you’re giving don’t add up. Lol

Absolutely. Off the top of my head, little changes that could’ve been made that would’ve barely touched the budget (and also not changed the storyline):

• Remove/condense the banners and other signage
• Leave no wall blank or painted black—specifically the area where the vultures (Boothill Boys) used to be… that wall is completely unthemed and it really takes you out of the moment
• Spread out the AAs so we are constantly looking at a story moment, and not just bare scenery (bayou scene, area between finale and final Mama Odie, etc.)
• Spread out the Tiana-on-a-log/“Louis is stuck” scene from the Mama Odie projection so we can fully understand what’s going on
• Be consistent with the story and music beats… if Ray has passed, we shouldn’t be hearing him sing. Better yet, we should only be hearing lyrics from characters singing directly around of us (Down in New Orleans with no character, Almost There with no Tiana, etc.)

Of course, the storyline is bad enough, but even if they were pigeon-holed into it, these issues should’ve been noticed and corrected.

For a lot of fandoms, the people who dislike something tend to talk about it more than those who like it.

Thats just human nature in general. But in this case the people who dislike it have a lot to say as there is plenty to dislike about it. Have you noticed that all the positive reviews here (from people who post about theme parks everyday) consist of “it’s not that bad” or “it’s fine.” Where are all the long, detailed, positive reviews about everything people love about this attraction? I’ll even take short and passionate.

WDW finale is easily one of the best parts of the ride but to each their own
It absolutely is, and is probably the only thing on par with Splash IMO.

But… they probably could’ve spread those figures out a bit more. It’s a lot all at once followed by not a whole lot.

Once we turn the corner there is an awkward stretch of nothing before we reach the final Mama Odie AA, then another stretch of nothing to the unload area. Plus, most of the critters AAs (animated figures?) are duplicates from earlier in the ride.

So…. I rode yesterday and went in with a positive attitude after just seeing the bears and being very happy with them.

This thing is kind of a mess…. Why are vegetables being stored next to the explosives in the salt mine?

Why is grandma basically the villain?

Why doesn’t Tiana look more like Tiana? Like I would not think it was her if I didn’t know it was supposed to be.

So many scenes that used to be filled with AA’s…..
