Thanks for the feedback. On the color scheme - the forum update was moved ahead of its scheduled release due to the old forum basically falling apart. The forum is one half of the site, and we are currently in the midst of a compete rewrite of the main site. When you see the two together, they compliment each other very well. The new forum has not been designed to fit with the old main site that is currently still in place.

Sounds good, ease us in gently!

It takes some getting used to, but give it a chance but if you have any questions, email the Admin It will become second nature to you, before you can blink an eye

I really like it, though it took a bit to get used to it. The speed is a welcome change! I think they did a great job.

It's having to get use to something new that is hard. Where can I find the trip count downs? I love going out there and see how many days I have until my next trip.

Unfortunately the trip countdown are not yet available. I'll update as soon as they are.

Slowly getting used to it.... One strange issue with an iPad 2 I mentioned elsewhere but I'll see how it goes.

The 'dim' theme could do with being more... dimmed. The white needs to really go dark grey or similar for tablet use.

I love the white on the iPad. It's all a personal thing of course. What is the issue you have? I haven't sen your post on that one.

I think it may have been a one (or 2) off bug. The first time I went into the new forum the thread loaded the mobile version. Other threads were okay. Back to the thread, same thing. Not happened since I'm happy to say, but I can't remember the thread in question now typically.

Big problem with using HTML 5 is that it is still in draft until 2014, and not supported on Internet Explorer.

In terms of the iPad, iOS does not support uploading anything via a web page - it does not expose the file system to Safari.

Gotta say Steve, in general handling and typing the whole interface does seem faster. And this is on wifi on my pad. I dare say I'll give the mobile version a good testng next week too.

Yep it is much faster. Along with the new software we are running on all new hardware - which is an absolute BEAST.

The old board did have a charm to it, the power blues, all that but what I feel people are having the most issues with is simply just change. They are too used to how to navigate the old board.

Stick with it people, seriously, everything you loved about the old board will be in this one soon enough, the new place will be much, much better for the long haul. Plus, Steve is "plusing" the new site, Disney style.


Now if we can just get the powder blues back...

The new forum is about trying to put the important information in front and center, and hiding away some of the clutter. I felt like the old forum resembled a warehouse stock control system, with text, tables, blocks, and forms everywhere. This new version is much more simple, and hopefully easier for people to use. I do understand though that for existing users, it will take some adjustment.
