Things that make you cry

When the music swells and we lift-off on Soarin' for the first time every trip.

OMG, Soaring brings tears to my eyes and puts a HUGE smile on my face the entire ride. Thankfully there are no pics, I know I look like a goof.

I cry when we arrive to check in. When the valet greeter opens my car door and asks checking in, I always start to tear up. If the greeter CM says "Welcome Home Ms Stroud" I actually bust out crying. Totally embarrasses the daughters and grands...

"Remember, we must always believe in our wishes, for they are the magic in the world."
Having CP'd in the Magic Kingdom, I got to watch Wishes every night with my closest friends. I went on to get this quote tattooed on my back in memory of all the people I met while working at Disney World. This quote will always reduce me to a blubbering mess.

Frontierland music track.
Read above. Was stationed at Pecos Bills.

Right as the opening piano to a whole new world in Phillarmagic begins.
Once upon a time there was a very special person in my life. I remember on my last day of working in Disney World, he took me to see Phillar. As the opening to a WNW began, he grabbed my hand and softly sang it to me. I can't even think about the song without crying.

I'm not often moved to tears, but just arriving on property gets me, I don't know, somber? It's almost surreal how it feels to me. So many wonderful memories with family who are no longer with us. I'm instantly transported back to a time when I was 5 or 10 or 12 and life was simple and never ending. My grandparents were always there in those early years. The home they lived in is no longer there, but WDW is, so it's one of the only tangible places I can visit and "feel" that connection. I get emotional when I think that my parents are at the age where they "hope" they can go one last time. One last time. Just that thought alone nearly breaks me down.

I'm not trying to sound depressing, but Disney plays THAT big of a role in my childhood. Heck, I even get overly excited just walking into Disney Store in a mall. Perhaps it's irrational to feel so "connected" to something like a theme park, but I do. And by being on this forum and reading these great posts, I'd guess I'm not alone.

I'm a 44 yr old guy who gets misty too. It's the music that really gets me started. Here's just a few that gets me going...

* Epcot...looking at SSE towering above and the entrance music. Golden Dream at the end of American Adventure.

* MK...walking under the train station and rounding the corner to get the first glance at the castle. Wishes..."starlight star bright".

* HS...One Man's Dream

* AK...Festival of the Lion King. Here's a picture of what happened last year. A CM ask if he could take our daughter to be part of the show. A true magical moment for us!!!

On the bus from the resort when the music starts, welcoming us to the Magic Kingdom...gets me and my daughter every time. I think it's when we feel like we're really back.

I am the same way! The bus turns left at Contemporary & the drum roll starts. It really got me in September when we took my parents & the first day we went to Magic Kingdom. The drum roll started & I looked at my parents with their granddaughter and the tears of happy filled my eyes.
I get tearful when Tink flies.
I get tearful at the daytime castle show when they say "dreams come true" & my daughter says it along with them with her whole heart.
I get tearful when I see the magic fill my daughters eyes with happiness.
Oh, there are many happy tears for me!

And it hurts to think of the tears that creep up when we leave.

Expected sobby moments from our upcoming trip:
-MK opening at 7:50am (our first time going early enough to see it!)
-MK kiss goodnight (our first time staying late enough!)

After many, many MK visits, last year we finally experienced the Kiss Goodnight... and it didn't disappoint. Definitely a "verklempt" moment. Plus it's just a great opportunity for photography. I doubt I'll be visiting the MK again *without* staying for the ceremony. There's just something cool and fun about closing the place. Highly recommended.
