Had a spectacular meal at a new-to-us Italian restaurant this evening, sadly after attending the wake of my BFF's brother, who passed over the weekend on account of 9/11-related cancer, just like my own brother did 8 years ago. I like to think that the great meal.was the universe trying to ease the sorrow.

This was my Short Rib Ravioli. It was in a brown sauce with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms and each ravioli had a paper thin slice of mozzarella melted over it. It was absolutely delicious, complemented by a very nice Chianti.

Yum -- breakfast food has always been one of my absolutely favorite meals! :hungry:
Breakfast is a fav for me also. In my travels when I was young in Central and South America , breakfast in some areas was a huge meal . In Colombia I ate Bandeja Paisa which is a huge breakfast plate of white rice, fried egg, fried plantains , sliced avocado, cornmeal arepa, fried pork cracklin, grilled steak and red beans, Colombian coffee . It was a lumberjack breakfast in the countryside to fuel up the workers before they go out to work in the fields.
