The worst decision WDW ever made?

The worst decision for my family was WDW's pennywise and pound foolish monetizing of shorter wait times by introducing ILL/G+... while making changes to staffing and capacity that it knew would increase standby wait times, and structuring queues to ensure that standby guests would be able to see (and be demoralized by) just how many lightning lane guests were gaining priority access, all to further incentivize ILL/G+ purchases.

Of all the changes, downgrades, and cuts WDW has made in the 10+ years we've been visiting as a family, that was the one that eroded the quality and pleasantness of our visits the most, and broke the proverbial camel's back as far as us wanting to return. We have no desire to deal with the time-consuming hassle and extra expense of ILL/G+, and no desire to deal with the time-consuming hassle and [still hugely expensive] exercise of waiting in standby lines that WDW has intentionally made longer and slower -- either way, we lose.
Well said........

I honestly think the removal of Splash Mountain may prove to cost Disney millions of dollars in lost revenue every year. As Foxx Nolte of Passport2Dreams once said, Disney’s core product is nostalgia. People remember that name, and it invokes images of a thrilling, refreshing splash on a beautiful day.

If Disney had changed the name to Tiana’s Splash Mountain, or Splash Mountain with Princess Tiana, this wouldn’t be as much of a problem, but to the uninvested casual it just appears as though there isn’t a flume ride anymore.

I disagree. I think G+/ILL was a good idea. I think they haven't gone far enough to cap it like the majority of other parks.

IMO the worst mistake is the IP mandate. Too much focus on putting IP into the parks even if it doesn't fit.

Our family feels the same way - no desire to go to this rendition of WDW at all.
Universal is our favorite theme park now, and we keep finding things we never saw on every trip. Love it!

Not MM+, but how much money they put into MM+. Aside from the financial issue and the new FP+ system, I still have faith in the system having some major potential benefits in the future.
FP+ was the beginning of messing things up.
FP was fine but FP+ 👎👎👎. It is graduated from there and then showed Disney’s greed.

Moving MuppetVision and retheming RNR to Muppets to make up for it. An all ages attraction vs a coaster many cannot and don't want to ride..great compromise...so ticked off at this. Or making Muppet Vision available on Virtual Reality...that's super expensive and will probably be cancelled due to price of the console/headset thing and people not wanting or needing them.

I could be here most of the day, but gonna keep it short( kinda)
The whole Imagination pavilion ! Sticking a guy or girl in a ridiculous 6ft dragon suit!
ROA being bulldozed for what! An overrated IP Attraction,
Closing attractions and not re imagining them. ( stitch )
Losing Illuminations, 3 shows later, millions spent, still no where as good as the original show IMHO.
Losing M.E from airport to resort .
Underpaying cast members !!!!
This was always going to a popular thread . Of course they do an awful lot right, and we still love going to WDW.

let’s wait and see, I actually can see the overlay working to be honest. We love MV3D, I told my wife about this yesterday , she was 😞, but let’s see, what they managed to do with bear jamboree is pretty cool, it’s a great show now. I can see the pre show for RNR still having stadler and Waldorf in it, as long as they keep them , I’m ok with it. I also can see someone from the Henson family being involved in some way, the guy was loved by soooooo many. So fingers crossed we can a good show, I suppose my concern is that if they only have one muppet attraction and it’s this, that will eliminate a lot of family’s, as not everyone like rollscoasters . If they change it, change the track ,a complete overhaul . 🤞they do the right thing . Now really can’t wait til Jan to take mum to muppet vision . 😍, take care 👍
