The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Don’t like the new icon, it’s jumbled with still using the Mickey circle, and now narrowing and enlarging Sleeping Beauty castle with an extra turret and one flag from the DLR app (look at them side by side, it’s obvious, I noticed it because they are right next to each other on my phone.) Last I checked Cinderella Castle doesn’t have flags. Don’t know why they went away from the Mickey circle but if they wanted to do that why not just use the original logo (World Mickey D)?
It’s not the same icon. And for what it’s worth, every Disney app icon has a flag on the tallest turret of every castle – most of which don’t have them in real life.

I get the gripe about the clutter, though. It looks like a mirror of Tokyo’s now.

Cinderella castle actually does have flags. Just not on the top turret..

I remember being so excited for the beginning of the 50th Celebration. As a WDW lover and tween during the 90s, I wanted to celebrate with my family on a trip where we celebrated 50 years of MK!! I even decided to run the Dopey during the 50th!! So many rumours, so much potential. 50 new things??! Tron! New Epcot!

Then Covid came. I get that.

They missed the entire point. So disappointing. There was no history or nostalgia. Heck, they could have made new background loops including Spectro or RoE.

I know Covid hit. I know it was tough. But the biggest kick that made the 50th seem so weak wasn't the lack or nostalgia or new rides that were promised. Rather it was the high rack rates at Resorts, the high ticket prices, the discontinuation of TiW, low hours, removal of FastPass and zero nostalgia. We knew all of this going into the trip, but you really feel it when there. We were glad we went, but we were so disappointed in the product as compared to the price tag.

I still stand by saying that a quick extended weekend is better than the week long trips at this point.

Is it me or does there seem to be a lot of algae in the moat? I do not honestly remember seeing that much previously when they drained it. I wish they would add a fountain on each side of the draw bridge. The sound would be lovely.

They used to keep all of that water very clean back in the 70s... I don't ever remember seeing all that algae much... which would mean they are not treating the water the way they used to.

The water has been clean for the past few weeks, it didn't look like that before draining.

Epcot's ponds that separate World Showcase and World Whatever does have a problem though lol

I agree fountains, even if not used for the nighttime shows, would be nice.

Algae quickly builds up when the dam portions of the most because fluid flow is restricted.

Not sure what is going on at Epcot…
