The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Not confirmed but I'd say it has a good chance of happening considering a few reputable people were talking about something going on with nighttime parades.

2024 though I believe. As much as I wish it was this year. But the subject got quiet again and Disneyland has yet to announce anything returning this summer, so, 🤷‍♂️.

I'm still trying to figure out why people fall all over themselves praising the LED pucks on SSE. 👎

I’m pretty sure that rockwork has been damaged for a while. Note the green scrim at the top, which I think was there even before they started draining the moat. They’re likely taking this opportunity to repair it.

CMs are being advised to continue wearing their 50th anniversary nametags beyond the celebration's final day today.

As I understand it, there is ongoing deliberation about the next series of nametags possibly including the CM's pronouns. Whether or not that ends up happening remains to be seen, but they're going to have to do a huge production run regardless since many CMs misplaced their "Where Dreams Come True" version, or don't have one at all since they were hired during the 50th celebration, so at least for now, the 50th anniversary nametags will stick around.

In a new video, the Walt Disney World Ambassadors have shared new nametags are coming this May.

From an Instagram post. It appears that the Mary Blair banners covering the speakers on the outer turrets housing the show control booths have been replaced with seemingly fresh ones (based on the richness of the color). The rear turrets seem to still have the 50th design.

A good example of what @marni1971 characterised as the proactive attitude of Disneyland Paris management compared to WDW management is that they have introduced a new drone choreography to the fireworks preshow for the final "farewell" period of the 30th anniversary celebration. A nice touch that I can't imagine WDW doing without some spreadsheet to show it would bring in extra revenue.

Went during the 50th for WDW and the 30th for DLP.

The difference was night and day - I can't quite explain it, but DLP was superior. The shows, the artistic cohesion and direction throughout BGM and songs played, the message of the celebration, add that with the visuals of the graphics. Their pizza boxes even had the logo on it!

It just felt more celebratory and joyful that the 50th. With the return of Disney Dreams at DLP, the new drone choreography for the 'Grand Finale' of the anniversary, and the superb hit that is the liquid crack that is Dream and Shine Brighter - it is the reason I knew I had to go back and recently booked to go next month so I can do it again.

I think it is telling that, more often than not, when I was there and was watching the 30th shows, the sea of executives, including the President of DLP Natacha, was standing by the tech booth overlooking the crowds engagement and response. I was eating at the Manhattan Restaurant and she even turned up and ate with executives at a table. At least in my opinion, the top dogs at DLP are very active in how DLP runs, the history, and visually care. I think that undoubtedly that translated in a better celebration.

I know we can blame the pandemic for some things for the 50th. It is just difficult when the 30th started less than 5 months later.

Completely agree with all your observations, but just wanted to highlight this. One thing that has really struck me in recent years is how proud the people managing Disneyland Paris seem to be of their resort. It's like they realise that they have something special and really want to make it shine brighter (to quote the liquid crack that is Dream and Shine Brighter!), even if they don't always have the massive financial resources of the US parks. Another example would be the Marvel drone show at WDS that popped up out of nowhere during the slow season.

WDW management, on the other hand, often seems like the management of the local mall. Obviously wanting to keep customers rolling in and perhaps well intentioned, but not especially ambitious nor all that creative.

I agree with this...it has not always been this way, but the last 5 years there has been a general decline... maybe a bit longer...It is funny that there is a lack of creativity...and general sense of style... while trying to move Imagineering to Fl... Would a Florida move kill imagineering forever? Or could the move have bolstered the creativity and talent here in WDW? Questions.... questions....

Probably wishful thinking, but it would be nice if it fostered more of a sense of ownership of the Florida parks. Many things lately have felt designed for California and then just plopped into WDW with little regard for the reality there.

Yes!
1. Slinky Dog having a queue with no shade
2. Not adding a scene to VotLM when they could have to have a climax in FL
3. Galaxy’s Edge being a carbon copy of a land designed for DL
4. Tron being the same

Etc
