A lot of the gripes with the 50th are unfortunately related to this. While I don’t excuse the lack of a proper celebration, it may have been for the best since a lot of people equate the 50tn with Covid and pandemic restrictions.
Disagree I experienced DLR 60th, loved it couldn’t wait to see WDW 50th as that’s an even bigger anniversary and they messed it up, big time. Oh well, 7 more years till DLR 75.

I saw the DLR 60th from a far (through social media and friends who visited), and think it was a far better celebration. However, this does not relate to my opinion that a lot of people view the 50th, as a piece of the pandemic and the restrictions that came with it. While TDO did a subpar job at this celebration, it doesn't change that sentiment.

The Disneyland 60th was perfect aside from Disneyland Forever, which was another clip show, though I do think the creative team did the best they could given that non-IP shows are not welcome anymore. I attended twice in person and was really impressed by the cohesiveness of the theme across the entire resort.

No the mistake was WOC Celebrate, while DL Forever was a clip show it was a good one that had a good mix of eras. It also came on the heels following Remember and if they did a park specific show again would likely result in disappointment.

I didn't see Disneyland Forever in person, but saw it several times on YouTube and really enjoyed it, Live the Magic is a great anniversary song, as well as the nostalgia and heart put into the show was exactly what I was looking for in the WDW 50th's firework show.

It was a wonderful anniversary song! They used it in the morning rope drop announcement and it blows away any "welcome show" they've done at MK since moving it to the castle stage, without the use of even a single character.

Compare this to the WDW 50th anniversary "welcome show." You'll surely be disappointed.

Why not paint the castle back it cheapens the feeling of the 50th anniversary to say remember when they painted the castle a special color? I love the classic castle colors.

Also outside of name badges and cheap castle decor maybe do something more substantive. I’ve never been to a Disney anniversary celebration we’re the ones in the past better?

The castle wasn’t actually repainted for the 50th. It was repainted in celebration of an anniversary of the Cinderella movie, it really was repainted as a push from Chapek to have more homogeneous looking castles for marketing purposes. The decor was part of the 50th.

The supports for the 50th medallion are still there, although now it has a blue covering rather than being exposed (which is good!).

The roof might require repairs when they eventually remove 'em judging to how they were installed onto it (from BlogMickey):

The article mentions removing the rest of the 50th decor from the castle...does that mean the pink sections are going to be painted back to grey sooner than expected?
