The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Touchdown

1. I suspect HEA to return post anniversary with some tweaks (MSUSA projections) It’s what happened at DL for the 60th.

2. Given the pictures of the castle and MSUSA going Gold I strongly suspect this show is going to be very time specific and really focus on 50 years.

3. I really hope as a differentiator from HEA (and Harmonious for that matter) this is not movie IP themed an “E-ticket in the sky show.” If so I can’t wait to see what they come up with for Pirates and HM to top Remember. It will also blunt criticisms of Harmonious, not entirely, but still.

4. Mix Magic is horrible it’s extremely light on the pyro side and the music is not my taste, that said it does have one section that is great (GGG/Poco Loco)

5. I don’t get the worrying over an anniversary song, what other song may I ask do you expect Enchantment to open/close with?

We got time yet for this but I hope we still get a Anniversary theme song. I would Think we will? Maybe to be used in Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade or something.
I'm never too optimistic when it comes to 'special' music written for the parks. It's usually a rehash of an earlier song, like 'Speachless' from the live action Aladdin. 🙁
I'm probably one of the people who did like "Remember When" for DL's 50th...Found it weird tho that when they showed it during the Thanksgiving day parade it represented for WDW and not for DL...

But, I do hope there is a new song for this and nothing as corny as the singers from HEA..😝

The only thing I liked about HEA was the technical spectacle. The soundtrack was blah. If this show makes things more impressive to look at, it’s a net gain IMO.

I do miss Jiminy Cricket as the host. I rarely stood in one spot and watched Wishes, but I loved walking through the park and just hearing those classic characters. Classic Disney. That’s what I want.

I expect style, limited substance. But if they surprise us with both, that would be great.

People suck those shows up like candy…

…it really doesn’t seem to matter what’s actually in them.

I do wish they’d make the investments to switch out more…15+ years of the same thing is a bit too far
I don't think that's necessarily true. Epcot forever for example is not that highly regarded. In the last few years of its run, HallowWishes and Holiday Wishes weren't very well received. Neither was rivers of light. Happily ever after, on the other hand, is extremely popular.

Believe it or not neither was RoE. But I’ve not seen proof Hallo or Holiday were dropping in popularity.

HEA was still a new thing for a lot of tourists.

But none of that really matters…where’s Martin to back me up when I need him? 🤔

And that’s the disconnect between the diehards and the rest of the customer base…they are diversionary…that’s the point.

probably why I don’t pay too much attention to them…an attraction has 10,000 times the intrinsic value of any timed show.

18 months is a long time to pause a show, but it's not unprecedented. I think it's reasonable to assume that HEA v2 will return after the Anniversary show, unless Disney indicates otherwise. Anything else would a a huge risk and failure to capitalize on merch sales.

I'd personally like to see MK get two fireworks shows for the week. Kick off HEA on the weekends only and Disney Enchantment on the weekdays, for instance.

I really doubt it will happen, but they do run two different shows every holiday season on separate nights.

I don't know...If I went to WDW during the 50th Celebration, and I could only get a reservation for the Magic Kingdom on a Saturday, I would be pretty disappointed to not be able to see the new show...
While it would be possible to do both shows alternating, it makes little sense except for the locals with Annual Passes...
MOST people will want to see the newest show designed for the 50th Anniversary...

Yes I tend to agree.

Just consider that if you didn't pay for a holiday party in the past, you would get zero fireworks for that night as an option at Magic Kingdom.

Foul…
It’s ridiculous that the consumers have allowed that to be a thing in the first place.

it was always the danger when you skinny dip in quicksand

For many years fireworks weren’t offered nightly regardless of having a party or not

Correct…but in lower crowds/lower demand/off-season

simpler, less greedy times
Park hours are still based on crowd levels. There’s a reason they don’t have Christmas parties thanksgiving week and that they end a week before Christmas.

September, October, early/mid December are/were off season. The parties themselves have led to them becoming more popular
