The dragon inverted coaster you see there represents the Dragon's Challenge which is themed to the Tri Wizard Tournament task and was once themed to Dueling Dragons.

They gutted and redid the entire castle's queue show scenes and it should be interesting to see how different everything is.

Thats an interesting discussion about where Disney stands in relation to the new Harry Potter attraction. I think the Harry Potter world looks really cool and will reach out to a really broad demographic. The Fantasyland expansion at MK will probably draw most of its attention from a younger female demographic. Though I'm a 24 year old male and I can't wait to see the new Fantasyland, but at the same time I would definitely like to see Disney make some more exciting additions to the parks to fit the interest of boys. With the amount of money that they invested in Marvel, I suspect that we'll see some superheros and attractions gear towards boys in the future.

Actually when you look at UNI it is more a non family park with a lot of coasters, half baked shows. Best rides are ET, Jurassic Park and Spider man. Now a few of the shows are always mocking Disney and the staff act the same way. No class or style. After one year that WWOHP is open the park will go back to it's normally low crowd. The parks never seem packed except on Holidays or a new attraction. The resorts are so so and do not provide the same guest services as Disney. I can say this because I have stayed at them and the DWF and I were not impressed. Lastly all you need is to go to the parks is two days and you then want to leave and go do something else. I can wait to see WWOHP and will pass on this year and go to Sea World instead after our 10 day stay in Disney in September 2010. Universal was fun when it first opened up and really had promise. I just don't know where they kind of down turned. I have been there a few times and felt like where are all the people and excitement. I guess I am just to much of a Disney person and just truly enjoy the experience, resorts and resteraunts and shows that much better. Not to mention the water parks and all the things to do at the resorts like, Boating, bikes, horse back riding and going on the Bass fishing trip and then all the cool themed pools and such and then go to Down town Disney and shop at all the Disney stores for clothes, housewares, Christmas stuff, watches and so on. I looked at the CGI that will be shown and am not that interested. I also do not like the fact they did retheme a nice rollar coaster like Dueling Dragons and said, hey look Harry Potter. The castle does look good but and seems rich in Detail. I hope for Universals sake that they have something that will keep people attention for more than just a year.

Although sometimes more thrilling IOA has the same number of Coasters as Magic Kingdom.

Universal Studios only has two coasters.

Sea World actually has the same level of thrill on their coasters and less theming.

I suggest actually making proper comparisons on Universal Orlando before you judge it that way.

Let's not bring logic and reasoning into this! I figure it's best to just ignore him at this point. However, you've gotta love the harping on UO's number of coasters, followed by an endorsement of SeaWorld, a park where coasters actually make up 50% of the rides. Tasty, tasty irony.

I still find it interesting that the thing is suppose to open very soon and we still have no idea what Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is going to be like. All we know is that it uses Kuka arms. That's it. You'd think they'd at least show something to get people excited about it...

IoA and MK's coasters aren't even remotely comparable. MK's coasters are kiddie coasters in comparison.

And IoA was never a family-friendly park to begin with and still isn't.

Maybe, but there are a couple things that Universal does better than Disney. Thrill Rides are one of them for the most part. Spider-Man is still one of the best rides in existence, the Mummy is outstanding, Popeye and Bluto is the best river rapids ride out there, Ripsaw Falls and Jurassic Park are both excellent flumes, Hulk and Dueling Dragons/Dragon's Challenge are awesome and the RRR looks to be as well. What Universal lacks is service and atmosphere. Disney is a much more inviting place because of the Disney legacy and because of how Cast Members normally treat guests. Plus, Disney doesn't get rid of all it's classic attractions, unlike Universal (King Kong, Earthquake and Back to the Future are all gone).

Personally IoA is my favorite theme park and I am completely ecstatic for Harry Potter. It's going to be amazing and I hope to camp out to go on day 1.

The element of surprise. They have been slowly leaking details, but I don't think we'll know everything until it is open for business. I wouldn't have it any other way. It's like waiting for a new Potter book.

Exactly. And this isn't something like WoC where they can show test images, seeing what you see in HP will be the exact thing.

You are arguing with the same side my man. ha.

IOA is the closest thing the US can get to Disney Sea.

Until Disney Sea comes to FL. IOA is top knotch in detail. Like what Disney always was...in the 90s. (rare surprise exceptions like Everest)
