Netflix and Hulu are already profitable and Disney+ will be profitable in a year.

Amazon and Apple don't care to be profitable, they use video as a way to pimp their other services.

Paramount+ and Peacock shouldn't exist.
Almost like the DTC model which currently exists is an unsustainable pipe dream sold to idiot media executives with delusions of grandeur by morons with MBAs fresh out of Wharton.

Nothing says “creative company” like endless sequels. I wonder if he’s sucked up to Cameron enough to get him to commit to Avatar 6-10 yet?
Why are you ignoring the original movies they are doing? Or that originals are a huge gamble that often don't do nearly as well as sequels?

In 2023 nearly half of their theatrical releases are original so exactly what percentage of releases should be original to meet your demands? If you want to ignore Fox and searchlight and only focus on "core" Disney you still have Wish and Elemental. So, if two brand new, original Disney animated movies is not enough in a year, how many do there need to be? How many original movies were they releasing a year back when they were a "good" studio?

Why would I give a rat's hind parts about Fox and Searchlight?

Elemental (which was actually good). Wish (TBD). Name the next original movie Disney (or Pixar) has coming out. Elio, in 2025. Meanwhile, do you want to discuss or list the number of sequels and rehashes they have on the schedule? Because that list is a helluva lot longer.

The idea that it’s more expensive now to run streams that physical cable was…and there’s money to be made because of LESS competition now…

…is intellectually bonkers.

But keep sniffing Elmer’s…cause Bob said so 🤯

They have been averaging around 2 movies a year or so between Pixar and WDAS over the last two decades. Below you'll see sequels in bolded red. Outside of the run up to the Pandemic you'll see most years with original content.

In 2019 those sequels had a box office of $1.453B and $1.073B and in 2018 those sequels had $349.4M, $529.3M and $1.243B.
