The Universal Rumors thread

USH doesn't need Potter. It's not that type of park and will just make the rest of the park feel odd.

In my opinion, the Upper Lot should be dedicated to movie making attractions only and use some of the theme park stuff on the Lower Lot.
Agreed. Potter would just feel out of place there...

Ummm...the Universal Resorts ARE heavily themed. And the level of service far outpaces even the Disney Deluxes.

YES. Portofino Bay is one of the shining examples of a highly themed, but luxurious hotel.

I'm not doing it guys. I know how cranky you Uni fans can get when people talk badly about the resorts.

I have never stayed in a Uni hotel and I'm sure they're great, but I don't want something just themed after Spain or Italy or something like that. I want something really different so I never forget where I am.

Nobody is being cranky. You're just not being consistent.

I don't understand how Portofino or Royal Pacific is any different level of theming than Port Orleans or Wilderness Lodge.

Getting back on topic for a moment, a little birdie over at Orlando United is now saying Universal executives have decided to go with an expansion of Jurassic Park that is grander in scale than previously rumored. Whether or not this means they are going with the Amber Mine + Discovery Center Dark Ride plan or if this is an entirely new expansion plan, it's good news regardless.

Hopefully that will be the case!

So you do not think Disney's Polynesian is worthy?? Because that's basically what Royal Pacific is..

And hopefully the hypercoaster idea is DOA.

Hmm, if it's grander in scale that means bigger than the Amber Mine and Discovery Dark Ride. I'm not believing anything until construction starts or it gets announced, because look where this rumor is going.

One could argue the upper lot is already dedicated to movie making, given the studio tour spends an hour telling you how things are done in films. The studio tour covers a good chunk of things... I can't think of some attractions that have to deal with making movies, but not enough to take up the entire upper lot. Not to mention there's not enough space on the lower lot for everything else.

I was kidding when I said the cranky things but these posts are changing my minds. No I don't like Polynesian, it's not my type of hotel. Port Orleans takes you to a place that doesn't really exist anymore, that's why I like it.

Fact of the matter is I'm not staying at a Uni hotel. I wasn't looking for an argument guys sorry if it came across that way.

Hopefully it is still on for next summer. (I highly doubt that Potter will be done before Winter 2014 at the earliest.)

I could take or leave the Amber Mine but I feel like the Dark Ride is crucial. IOA is weak in terms of family attractions, and this dark ride, and maybe another in Seuss Island, would do a lot to improve the park.

I've been dreaming of reading those words!!!
