The Transportation and Ticket Center...time for a refurb?

.... But have you walked past Mickey's Gift Station to the back Bus pick-up/drop-off lot?? It's atrocious! It's a dirty and rundown circle of cracked pavement! I mean, the benches are in rough shape and it just feels like you've left WDW property. It's certainly not up to date as far as Disney's standards go. ....

Agree. The bus loading area could use some Disney magic and it wouldn't have to cost much, budget wise.

I don't know if it's just that it's Disney, but I've always liked the TTC.
Maybe just nostalgia.

I partly agree with the nostagia view point. Though with the exception of Mr. Toads Wild ride being converted to Winnie the Pooh I have been quite pleased with the changes they have made.

Totally agree. Wouldn't take much time or money to give it a quick face lift. This is the first part of the park that you see if you're just driving in to go to the MK. Give it a bit of magic.

I would be happy with just a cleaning, painting & fix what's broken sort of job. Otherwise, I like it just the way it is. :D

....and runs "half marathons":ROFLOL:

(Artist depiction of MKCP 1985 'hitting the wall" after "half a marathon" ----> :brick:)

Only Disney half marathons though! :sohappy: I'm hoping the track takes us near the TTC . . . to heck with Cinderella's Castle, Space Ship Earth, the Tree of Life or . . . anything at the Studios. It is all about the TTC, baby! :D

and that artist depiction is way too nice - I'll be hitting the wall somewhere in the starting parking lot! I'll be lucky to still be upright at the finish line. They do let you crawl to the finish, I hope. :ROFLOL:

:ROFLOL: Your wish is their command, or you'll at least get to run on the right side of the TTC, be it ever so briefly (longer for you, Mr. Slowpoke).;)

We had a little surprise at the TTC this go 'round. When we were there in 2006, you could still catch resort buses there.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that you couldn't catch a bus from the TTC to the resorts (except for Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge during the MK bus turnaround refurb) back in 2006. In fact, even when I started at Disney back in 2003, that was no longer the case. Now at one point, there were on-demand resort drop-offs available from the TTC after the MK monorail station was for pick-up only for the night to avoid having to go to Downtown Disney or an open theme park to change buses. Unfortunately, that unadvertised service was discountinued after only a short run.

While the TTC doesn't need a refurbishment, it would be nice to see some Disney theming turn the concrete monorail station into... anything, really. A second mini-Castle, a mansion, whatever. It looks less like WDW and more like your local bus station in places.

Though I definitely wouldn't mind Mark VIII monorails.
Anybody know when we're getting those?

Exactly. It's one of those places in Disney where you get that magic feeling...The entire day and "WORLD" before you...

*Aaaaaah*

It would be nice to see a bit of "placemaking" happen here. You're not at a run-fo-the-mill buss depot; you're at a bustling harbor waiting for your passage to a kingdom of fantasy. Or you're at a futuristic transportation center waiting for your monorail trip of a lifetime. Or maybe just a nice lcean place to decide how you want to make it to that park with the castle in it. But right now, its really kind of a jumble of things and feels rather run down. The park's should be kept in top shape, and the places you have to go through to get there should be no less important.

That's what I'd like to see! Disney should revamp the area with a nautical theme (not Pirates). :D

Or, we could go for the futuristic Alien Encounter/SGE theme and then they could just teleport you to MK in those glass tubes.
