The Transportation and Ticket Center...time for a refurb?

The TTC is subtle genius and the last guest loading and transfer station that Walt personally designed. The parking lot with the sections named after dwarves and such is just the kind of attention to detail that I expect from a Disney-run guest loading and transfer station.

If even an aisle is restriped, it will be a travesty. Save the TTC! :lookaroun :D

Are you serious or joking? Walt Didn't design the TTC, in fact the TTC would have been a giant road block (literally) in Walt's plans for the property now known as WDW.

I've always thought that the TTC would look really nifty in the same sort of style as a 1920s Art Deco train station, with a little futurism thrown in. The Cleveland airport did their signage in this sort of style during a recent remodel, and it looks really good.

Not to throw DLR into everything but I think something in style of DLR's entry plaza with the leave/swirl design would be nice. Its nice, simple, and looks good and the style of it certainly dosnt take away from the parks, hotels or monorail beams they just all kinda blend in nicely. Plus theres lots of palm trees and who dosnt like palm trees?

I also think the tram areas should get some work also along the lines of what DLR has with the Mickey and Friends side (not the beyond ulgy East Shuttle area side which as impoved a bit since 01) its very lush and inviting.

Something along those lines IMO would be a perfect fit for the TTC. If anything I would hope they could get some new signage/colors/fonts that would at least fit the style of the buildings that are there.

I think the TTC needs to go away completely. They could put in a parking garage similar to Disneyland's just to the west side of the Magic Kingdom with a short tram ride to the front of the park. Then the Express and Epcot monorail lines could be combined to create a direct line from MK to Epcot. Then later the Express/Epcot line could be extended to the other parks creating an all park monorail.

TTC is the best. I love it becuase I remember back when I was a kid that when you got there you KNEW you were in the park! A fresh paint job and some good power washing is about all it needs IMO.

what is the ttc even used for anymore other than a transfer station for the monorail? i remember a long time ago you used to have to get your picture taken there for the park hoppers, but now dont most people have tickets before they go?
same at epcot, they have so many ticket booths but ive never seen more than a couple open.

Im curious too about the fonction of the TTC now.. is it just a gateway to MK & a transfer to Epcot?

I remember a couple of years ago (When i was staying to the poly) i use the TTC to go practically everywhere. Or maybe i just have a bad memory :D

As for the theme a Jules Verne Transportation (kinda 1900s futuristic) will be nice. But just put the three animatronics, from World of Motion that are spinning a square & triangular shape wheel, somewhere in the TTC and i will be happy :D

Note: I know this is kind of a stupid thread for my first post... but i suppose we don't choose what is interesting to you :D

Welcome! Nice reference to Jules Verne in your very first post... You'll fit in well.

Something tells me Disney won't be making a decision on what to do with such incredibly valuable real estate based on nostalgic reasons but that is just a guess.

So true. They could easily put a smaller ticketing venue in the parking lot that connects to an enclosed pedestrian bridge (with moving sidewalks similar to what you see in airports) that would take you to a new and modern monorail station near the current drop-off/taxi stand between TTC and the Poly. This would make the tram rides much shorter and Disney would not need nearly the number of Trams to get guests from their cars to the new ticket center. Then by removing the original TTC and stations they could build a massive tower resort on the 7 seas lagoon that had direct monorail access (similar to the Contemporary) to both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. Simple as that. :)

the TTC is the first thing many visitors of WDW see if they are traveling to MK or Epcot....and it's always the first thing I see since I'm a Seasonal Pass holder and I don't agree with paying for parking every time I go out there.

IMO, the TTC should be as grandious (did I use that word right?) as the entrance of Main Street or the Terrace in front of Epcot. It should be overwhelming with Disney-ness and put everyone is an amazing mood instead of drowning us in too much royal purple, yellow, and teal.

The only thing tha screams Disney magic at the TTC are the monorails...thank god they're getting a new coat of paint!
