Trip Report The Sweet 16th(with a few surprises thrown in)!!

Hello friends!! Welcome one & all to my 2nd trip report!! To those who followed along on my first one(https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/whats-going-on-with-my-clothes.945539/) it's great to have you along again & to anyone new joining in thanks for coming on board. I'm excited to have you all here!!

We landed a few minutes early & headed to DME.

I really don't want to sound mean but we had the most annoying driver ever. He thought he was being helpful by giving tips to people(a lot of them were wrong). He kept interrupting the video & every time he did my niece & I would roll our eyes. He actually started out his spiel by telling us that the video is new b/c they had to incorporate Toy Story Land in it. Then he continued to talk, and talk, and talk, and talk. There went the video....
Here were some of the main points that our driver really emphasized:
-Be sure to utilize Extra Magic Hours
-Make sure to see at least 2 night time shows during your trip
-Make sure to book your dining reservations ahead of time(little too late now don't you think?)
-The monorail is a better way than the buses to see all of Walt Disney World(notice how I underlined "all"?)
-Would you like to know how clean Disney World is? It is so clean that you could walk around the parks in your bare feet(that's just plain gross)

Normally the stops go in this order: Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, French Quarter then Riverside. Fortunately, no one was going to Old Key West so we were spared a few minutes of knowledge.

I normally don't bring a carry on with me but I did today so I could bring my bathing suit since I didn't think the room(or our luggage) would be ready early. Somehow I ended up spilling my Starburcks in the bag & my bathing suit got a bit wet.:arghh:

The best part about my job is coming in and sitting down at my computer before everyone else comes in and catching up on the trip reports! Your's is great medicine right now!! I remember that walk to Disney's Magical Express just a few months ago. Ahhh the memories!

That sounds like a great way to start the day!! It's such an exciting feeling heading towards the Magical Express. I'm always thinking about how it's the start of the trip & all the fun things that we're going to do!!

We stopped by the front desk b/c I realized that I had left the tickets for MNSSHP in my purse back home. I felt pretty confident that they were linked to my account but I specifically remember it saying to bring the hard ticket with you to the event. I wanted to inquire about it so that I didn't have an issue the day of the party. Everything was fine with them. I asked for a birthday button for H. The CM then mentioned that she noticed that we had requested a room in the mansion section but if we wanted a newly renovated room in the bayou section there was one available right then. I asked H what she wanted & she said she would rather wait for one in the mansion section to become available. I normally don't request a particular section(but for whatever reason I always have ended up in the mansion section) but this time I did. H has been to POR a few times & has always stayed in the mansion section. Earlier this year she was there with her mom & sister and they were given a room in the bayou section. All three of them were not happy. They said it took them forever to find their room & it was very confusing. I think they were used to the mansion section & this was foreign to them--not to mention they didn't like the "rustic" look as much either. So, for this trip I put in a request b/c of H.

Not to be a Negative Nellie but if I don't end up going to DS during a trip I'm not upset in the least. It's always so crowded & the stores really don't interest me. If I do go it is usually in the evening after I've been at a park all day so I'm tired & things get on my nerves easier then. Since we were originally planning on taking a 4 pm flight that day we didn't have plans to go to a park. I know H likes it there(what teenager doesn't like shopping?) so I figured we could spend part of the day there & part of the day swimming & relaxing before our dinner reservation at CG that night.
