I've always wondered about that why not just bring your own bottle of water into the park and fill it up at the drinking fountains.....and its free.........that is what I do

Turning the castle into a big pink cake was one of the stupidest things I've seen them do there. We were waiting in line for the Haunted Mansion on day during the 25 year celebration and it started to storm, TERRIBLY! The wind was howling and people were running around frantically looking for one of those vendors that has the yellow mickey ponchos. The funniest thing was that the "candles" on top of the cake almost completely bent over from the wind! The were just kind of flopping around like a "weeble doll" It was really funny to look at. We have pictures of it and still get a good laugh when we see them.

I would love to see those! Hehe. Did that picture turn out well?

Disney's top stupidest thing:
converting JII to JIYI and then finding out that it completely sucked and then had to change it within 3 years of operating

The stupidest thing in WDW, everyone has to agree with me with. Is the Prices of everything. Im only 14 and yet I still think that the prices in the parks and downtown disney are a little tiny bit expensive. Water costs like $3, Hamburgers cost like $7. And souveneirs cost about $25 for a t-shirt with just the name of the park on it. That's kind of, expensive and STUPID! And why is the prices so high ? The (bleeping) Budget! Disney needs to lower their prices, so people will by more items and then the money will sky rocket.

I'm surprised so many people didn't like the Castle Cake...
I thought it was VERY clever given the 25th birthday and it's gonna be more than a footnote in Disney history cuz you may never see the Castle transformed into something again.

I give the Imagineers a thumbs-up for the Birthday Cake Castle... unlike that stupid hat in MGM.

As for the Castle Cake I think the money and talent used to produce this product could have been better used on other projects. While it may have been an inexpensive project (wrap some pink foam around the castle) it was not very creative IMHO. Meanwhile CoP is closed and the Jungle Cruise is still on line. Bad priorities equals a bad show. I suppose it's just a matter of taste.

I wasnt at WDW in 97 so I could not see the B-day Cake. However my uncle went that year and brought back pictures.. The cake was pretty good if viewed at a certain angle, however upclose it really was not that good

Well, I'm glad that I didn't have a wedding planned at the pavilion to have a nice backdrop of the castle...errr...cake that year. I would've been soooo ed off.

ok...for the stupidest thing in all of WDW...probably shoving that shiny newly painted gold dumb carpet ride in the middle of the lush beautifully landscaped Adventureland. (no offense to people who actually enjoy this attraction) and another stupid thing would have to be ALL of DINORAMA

The pictures of the cake turned out really good. The pepto-bismol color pink of the cake stood out really well with the grey backround of the sky! I'll have to scan one and post it on here! :) Have a great day everyone!

I actually liked the cake just because it was something different
I wouldn't like it to be there for an extended period of time, though

OK.. I know I already said the cake, but hey, what's with the McDonalds French Fry thing across from Pecos Bills... Is it ever open? I have been there for 3 years since it was built, and never once has it been open so I can consume some good ol' american grease...

I agree, I thought the cake was really cool. After visiting the park for so many years it was like seeing the castle for the first time all over again. And besides it was only for a year. :)

As for the stupidest thing in all of wdw I'd have to say- the lines for test track. I think it's strange that the standby line which moves soooo slow is outside with nothing but a wall to look at, while the fastpass line that moves faster is on the inside with all the demonstrations.

This changed as of November. The queue lines for standby, fastpass, and single riders are all in inside in the demonstration area.
