Trip Report The Story Comes ALIVE! *COMPLETED*

Hello again, my friends.

For nearly a decade it has been such a joy for me to write about 50 (yes, 50!) different trips that I have taken to WDW - including one that was virtual. ;)

The reason? You, the reader.

I don’t do trip reports for my own documentation. I have journals for that. I write because I love interacting with y’all. Your encouragement, humor, curiosity and even snark (*ahem* @amjt660) assure me that I am not alone in my crazy affection for Disney parks. A big thanks to each of you!

I am very fortunate to be a frequent visitor to WDW (despite what @Mr Ferret 88 believes, I do not live there!) and am entering a season of monthly visits. Trip reporting is time consuming (as those of you who’ve written can attest) but I’m not ready to completely give it up - yet.

What I’d like to do is keep this as an ongoing TR for the rest of 2023. It will be highlights and moments, with live posting as the goal. My story coming alive, so to speak.

First up is spring break with my favorite girl.

Followed closely by a getaway with my favorite guy.

There will be Magician meets. New experiences. And (as always) the unexpected.

I hope you’ll join the fun!

I think we nailed it today! Hope you were not to sore today.
Great job!

Breakfast at Kona is great. I like the loco moco there (the non-plant based one). It isn't on the menu so I have to ask nicely for it. If they ever refuse to make it for me, my back up are the macadamia nut pancakes.
It’s been awhile since our last Kona breakfast. I had never tried the pancakes and was sooo glad I did! I was amazed how long they stayed hot - most restaurant pancakes start to get cold the minute they hit the plate.

Saturday, con’t

Attractions weren’t our focus today due to our later park arrival and the fact this was our 3rd MK visit of the trip. We walked around enjoying the ambiance, people-watched and checked out several stores.

I thought this summer-themed spirit jersey was adorable and perfect for those who live in northern climates when it cools off in the evenings (not the case in GA!)

I did request a ride on the Peoplemover.

Lunch for the Upstairs Crew.

And a grand circle tour on the MPB.

It was sprinkling when our TRON BG was called. “Not again!” was my first thought. Thankfully the 40 minute wait in the covered queue was enough time for the rain to pass and our lightcycle run was dry.

There’s no proof we actually rode TRON however - I didn’t take any pics and per our (lack of) luck with ride photos this week, nothing is in MDE. :arghh:

I’d be requesting all those missing pics! But then we only go once every few years - maybe it’s not worth the effort for y’all.
I’ve had about 50/50 success with finding missing pics via online request. Searching in person at a Photopass studio is tedious and I knew Woody would not have the patience for that, as he couldn’t care less about ride photos.

I was ready to return to our room for a rest break. My injuries from yesterday were hurting. WDW was also under a severe weather watch for the 3rd day in a row and getting caught in a storm was not appealing to either of us.

We monorailed back to the Poly to get our car. I was spotted by another Magician - @PineapplePrincess!

I’m sorry we didn’t have more time together. Her vacay is just getting started as mine is ending.

I was amazed at how much smaller your macadamia pancakes were, compared to the times I’ve had them (most recently in 2014, they were almost the size of the whole plate)

Woody and I made it to Gran Destino just in the nick of time. The skies opened and a wicked storm blew through.

More rain was in the forecast and with the way I was feeling, I wanted nothing more than to have dinner at the resort.

A resort that has 3 table service restaurants and a bar and grill - and no reservations, walk-up availability, or mobile order to-go option at ANY of them!!! For guests STAYING AT THE RESORT!!

We had no desire to fight the large groups of cheerleaders in the food court. No way.

We’d have to leave the resort to get food.

Fortunately every cloud has a silver lining.

Woody was introduced to Olivia’s.

And we both were introduced to the best dessert of our vacation - Olivia’s chocolate lava cake.

It was the perfect meal to end our trip!

They were a stack of three pancakes. Perhaps the larger ones were only two to a plate? Didn’t matter to me anyway, I was only able to eat half of mine! (Mouth said yes, tummy said no!)

I recall there being three ridiculously large pancakes, and always had a buddy to split the plate with! Because there’s no way I could eat more than half. They were just the pancakes, no protein on the side. 😊

The perfect last day in Disney and Olivia's is such a nice way to end a Disney trip! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed following along on your live TR! Safe travels home and I can't wait to hear your final thoughts. I kept thinking the whole week when reading your TR that this trip seemed like one of your best ones yet! Pete and I wish that we could have been there to share in the fun with you both!
