Trip Report The Story Comes ALIVE! *COMPLETED*

Hello again, my friends.

For nearly a decade it has been such a joy for me to write about 50 (yes, 50!) different trips that I have taken to WDW - including one that was virtual. ;)

The reason? You, the reader.

I don’t do trip reports for my own documentation. I have journals for that. I write because I love interacting with y’all. Your encouragement, humor, curiosity and even snark (*ahem* @amjt660) assure me that I am not alone in my crazy affection for Disney parks. A big thanks to each of you!

I am very fortunate to be a frequent visitor to WDW (despite what @Mr Ferret 88 believes, I do not live there!) and am entering a season of monthly visits. Trip reporting is time consuming (as those of you who’ve written can attest) but I’m not ready to completely give it up - yet.

What I’d like to do is keep this as an ongoing TR for the rest of 2023. It will be highlights and moments, with live posting as the goal. My story coming alive, so to speak.

First up is spring break with my favorite girl.

Followed closely by a getaway with my favorite guy.

There will be Magician meets. New experiences. And (as always) the unexpected.

I hope you’ll join the fun!

We began with drinks.

Strawberry hard cider for me.

A Spanish red for Woody.

Woody ordered the Marinated Hanger Steak for his entrée.

He devoured it. I had done the same on our first visit in 2019. I decided to try something different tonight.

The Rioja-braised Chicken.

I enjoyed the chicken but surprisingly did not care for the roasted tomato bomba rice. However the couple “crispy potatoes” (aka potato chips) on my plate were delicious. I asked our wonderful server if I could have a few more. He brought me an entire bowl!

We shared this Spanish coffee custard/dark chocolate custard delight for dessert.

So richly decadent - If we could have, we both would have licked the plate clean!
That hanger steak and dessert were my New Years Eve dinner their deliciousness! Toledo is a new favorite, both for the food and the atmosphere.

First off, that picture of the guests in the Fountain was very upsetting to me! I hope the CM's finally said something to them about that behavior not being acceptable in the Disney Parks. If you're that hot then go cool off in the many attractions with AC or go back to your resort pool. (Rant off)! I never noticed the canoes in Italy either! We ate at Toledo sometime last year for the first time and had such a fabulous experience. Glad you made it around CS before the rains arrived! Congrats on your TRON Virtual BG! Have fun in MK today!

I didn't even know this place existed!

Yes, it is a big resort.

When we got to TRON the VQ was at BG 33. We were BG 34. Only a few minutes later we received the notification that it is time!

Today’s VQ wait was shorter for us, clocking in at 31 minutes. My knees were hurting today so I requested to ride in the Rover. We only had to wait a couple extra minutes. The CMs in the load zone couldn’t have been nicer to us.

Gotta admit - it was a thrill to ride in the last car and see the light cycles ahead of us. Woody agreed. However we would always choose a light cycle if our bodies agreed to it.

I was hungry when we arrived at TRON and when we disembarked I was downright hangry! Though it wouldn’t normally be my first choice for lunch, Cosmic Ray’s was the nearest QS so I quickly placed a mobile order and we headed in that direction.

As we approached the restaurant I pushed “I’m Here” and started up the steps towards the door…

…but I tripped, and face-planted on the concrete. Hard.

My right hand/wrist took the brunt of the fall, but both my palms were scraped and bloody, knees skinned and I could feel the wrist and leg bruises forming. At the moment I wasn’t sure which was worse - the embarrassment or the pain.

Woody and another guest asked if I was all right before helping me to stand. I was a bit shaken but was able to get up. I went straight to the restroom inside to tend to the wounds.

Ouch.

By then our mobile order was ready. I sat at a table while Woody got the food. Despite the pain from the fall I was still very hungry and downed my cheeseburger.

But when lunch was over, I knew where we had to go.

A nurse and a PA motioned me over when they saw me walk in the door. Someone was at the desk signing in, but I was able to bypass reception due to my red palms. I followed them into an exam room and explained what had happened.

Though cleansing the wounds with antibacterial soap and lotion wasn’t any fun (you shouldn’t have said, “Have fun in MK today!” @lindawdw 😉) the compassion and care I received was top-notch. And the facility itself is better than any Urgent Care I have visited.

My hands are on an ice pack to prevent swelling. I flipped my palms over for the pic.

The best part was the PA saying that she would sign me in after I left, so I wouldn’t have to write!
