Trip Report The Story Comes ALIVE! *COMPLETED*

Hello again, my friends.

For nearly a decade it has been such a joy for me to write about 50 (yes, 50!) different trips that I have taken to WDW - including one that was virtual. ;)

The reason? You, the reader.

I don’t do trip reports for my own documentation. I have journals for that. I write because I love interacting with y’all. Your encouragement, humor, curiosity and even snark (*ahem* @amjt660) assure me that I am not alone in my crazy affection for Disney parks. A big thanks to each of you!

I am very fortunate to be a frequent visitor to WDW (despite what @Mr Ferret 88 believes, I do not live there!) and am entering a season of monthly visits. Trip reporting is time consuming (as those of you who’ve written can attest) but I’m not ready to completely give it up - yet.

What I’d like to do is keep this as an ongoing TR for the rest of 2023. It will be highlights and moments, with live posting as the goal. My story coming alive, so to speak.

First up is spring break with my favorite girl.

Followed closely by a getaway with my favorite guy.

There will be Magician meets. New experiences. And (as always) the unexpected.

I hope you’ll join the fun!

Stunning and relaxing simultaneously, IMO.

Control pad for the elevators.

A simple push of the floor you want reveals what elevator will whisk you magically there.
Be sure to push before entering an open elevator, as there are no panel controls on the inside!

Thanks for the heads up on that elevator floor procedure. (I'm sure I'd fail the elevator idiot test, if you hadn't shared your experience. ;)) Kidding aside, I don't think I've ever seen that type of system -- every elevator I've been in, has the button control panel inside the elevator door!

It’s really easy once you have done it once. We spent the rest of our vacay explaining to others waiting how it worked🤣 I liked it.

Our BG was called while we were still on the boat. Heading to Guardians was next on our agenda, though I contemplated doing SSE first if the wait wasn’t long. We had to walk right by it anyway thanks to Wallcot’s never ending construction.

There were CMs at the entrance informing guests that SSE was down. (Again.)

I suppose after 40+ years of operation, the mechanicals of the ride system are all worn out. Woody said he can relate!

So we get to Guardians and see lots of people milling around the entrance (not unusual) but no one seemed to be scanning in.

I opened the app and found out why.

Another emesis, perhaps?

We thought about what we should do. Standing around the entrance for who knows how long wasn’t appealing to either of us.

Then we saw movement in the crowd. Guardians had reopened! We quickly made our way to the VQ entrance and tapped in.

Woody and I walked at a brisk pace through the long queue and did not stop until we reached the preshow area. (FYI It was a two minute non-stop walk - Woody timed it.)

However when we got to place where the preshow doors open, a CM was waving all guest to the right, into a backstage hallway.

We re-entered the attraction here (sorry for the blurry pic, I was keeping pace with everyone). For those unfamiliar, we had totally skipped both preshows and were going to the load zone.

At least Woody was. I took the chicken exit and met him at the top of the stairs as usual.

His ride photo? MIA

His song?
