What this thread needs is an in depth discussion of the success of WDAS under JL when some predicted his early retirement. :p

And an in depth discussion of JR's passion for the potential of Pandora at DAK and his focus on his new signature project when some were predicting his departure to "pursue new challenges".

And perhaps an in depth discussion of Disney Parks' profits despite a faltering economy. (I can't believe I am saying that for all these many years)

And perhaps an in depth discussion of the new Marvel movie that will feature largely unknown characters from the Marvel Universe and which will likely be a smash hit. :joyfull:

See yall at the Pandora launch.

I used to be in the media industry and can virtually assure you that it will be approved. There are minimal overlaps in service areas where Comcast is vs. where TWC is operating. In those few markets where this is the case, they'll shed operations of one of the two operators. Their pitch will be saving consumers money by having greater leverage, which is the same old void corporate bull, but it will be sufficient for the purchase.

With the new FCC comissioner being a ex-Cable exec the fix is in already and I dont think 'divestiture' is in the cards

I don't know, haven't been sold on Guardians since they announced it. This isn't B-list heroes who still occasionally popped up in cartoons or in Secret Wars--this is strictly D-list. Biggest star in the movie appears only as a CGI raccoon--while Bradley Cooper may have some furry fans, I'm thinking that's a tiny subset of his fan base. Mostly it's women who want to see those baby blues, not a space opera. Next biggest star, Bautista, has alienated his fan base by taking Daniel Bryant's "spot" in WrestleMania--if Vince McMahon can't get a handle on that situation, I see a lot of WWE fans skipping this movie on principle. And the stinger at the end of Thor didn't set my Downtown Disney theater on fire--just too odd.

I don't think it flops outright--Marvel has too much good will right now--but I think it's the lowest-grossing of the Marvel movies to date, and an afterthought compared to Winter Soldier and Spidey 2, both of which I expect to explode.

I don't see it flopping. It will be different for sure but its biggest advantage is that the IP is relatively unknown. They will have more wiggle room to be creative and mold this movie into something great. What is going on in the WWE won't affect the movie. That is like saying Batista played a bad guy in a movie last month so now public opinion on him is sour.

Winter Soldier might end up being the best movie so far, maybe not in the box office but it will be great.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Seriously though, you should remember where you heard about the MARVEL movie. The look of the movie alone is reason for optimism.

And I forgot to mention that an in depth discussion of the little franchise known as 'Star Wars' would also be welcome. Because that is the 500 pound wookie lurking just off stage.

"Explode" would be impressive for Cap given his movie didn't even make as much money as the first Thor. I expect a big opening day weekend (due to the "post-Avengers" bump and good previews), but not a strong hold or outstanding foreign numbers.

Fire reported on the roof of The Little Mermaid ride at @WaltDisneyWorld. That "Kiss the Girl" scene must have created some serious sparks.

Spirit, your favorite bloggers will be assembling for a media weekend around April 30th for a "preview" of the Mine Train. The weekend will also feature DVC (Poly?), MyMagic+, and the new parade.

Do we know who was left off the list (and will still wind up there as a friend's 'Plus-7')? And are they still going to give people who live in Clermont free rooms?

I will be far, far from O-town when this little circus plays out.

Is that really the best you've got? ... Sorry, another crackpot with the same initials brings a much better game here. You're like Broadway Joe playing out his days in LA ... or flubbing the Super Bowl coin flip for that matter. Time has passed you by. It was fun when it lasted ...or not.

Did an adult male really write that? Because that sounds more like something a thirteen-year-old girl would say. (Well, George might say something like that, but we would sense the irony).

I know a lot of people have been dissing the FP+ commercials for WDW, I don't think they r that great either...but I just have to chime in and see if anyone has seen the new "romantic Disney side" commercial for Disneyland that has recently come out?

Now that is how u make a Disney commercial. I suggest seeking it out of u haven't yet...it makes me look forward to my DL trip in 2015 more than my WDW trip this fall...

And yet they've managed to announce ratatouille for July 14th in WDS... I wonder what the hold up is in the swamps!

When'd did they announce that? On the 12th everyone was disappointed that even at the shareholders meeting there still was no date announced? I have heard the July 14th as rumour, but no announcement so far...

Sortof. Bright House Networks, which was originally a partnership in Central Florida of Newell/Advance & Time-Warner, and was branded under the Time-Warner name. Back in the 00's, Advance bought out the Time-Warner owned stake in the system and then licensed the Road Runner branding for their high-speed Internet. Time-Warner has no stake in Bright House any longer, but they are subject to the carriage deals that Time-Warner has. It's a real mess of an agreement. TWC owns nothing, but through an agreement do the programming agreements for Bright House as a way to pressure costs on the programming side with the networks.

Yup, I don't see how people think TWC owns BHN when all you have to do is read their Wikipedia Article
