I've said this before (I believe on a different thread a little while back) but I'm still thinking that maybe Disney is planning on buying up all the old Hanna-Barbera (sp?) stuff that is owned by TW (?). Is this connected to TWC? Does Time Warner out and out own this stuff? I know it used to be a presence in Universal Orlando back when it opened, but as far as I've seen, isn't anymore. There's all the Flintstones and Scooby, that whole catalog. I guess Bugs Bunny and friends would qualify as its WB? It probably depends on how that is all divvied up as far as who owns what and who retains what.
Hasbro might be small but...Disney does have alot of toys that they give the rights out to Mattel to make. Why not try for a smaller company that has their own network, properties, and animation series that are successful and have fan bases?
Mattel is probably way too big for them and doesn''t have its own animation/tv network. Hasbro actually kind of fits.
But we both could be completely off and it could be something absolutely random that no one knows why they'd buy or want.
Btw, has anyone else seen the Muppets showing up in various commercials since the Super Bowl? I've seen one for I think NIssan, one for Subway with Kermit, PIggy, and Swedish Chef, and my personal favorite, the Lipton one with a city full of 'Animals'.
