The Spirited Sixth Sense ...

Now that the storm here has pretty much passed, back to subject...

I've known for quite awhile now that Iger has been in secret merger talks with an unnamed company. Apparently, this would be his biggest merger yet and would be announced by or on 2015.

Up until now, my best guess was that maybe it's Hasbro. But, the Comcast merger with TWC has me thinking otherwise. Hasbro is too small and not Disney's line of business. As crazy as it sounds, I think TW is good possibility now. I can't think of anything other that is big, has key brand names, and is in line with Disney's core businesses.

If anyone else could think of what else it could be that fits the above qualifiers, I'll lay off the TW poison.

It can't be Viacom-Paramount because they own CBS and half of the CW, so the Feds won't let that one.

It's going to have to be something that would balance things after Comcast-TWC closes...

Wasn't Iger in some kind of secret talks years ago with somebody when Eisner was still CEO?

I'm thinking this decade may become known for letting it go...

So long as it's a direct to DVD type deal, I couldn't care less what they do with a Frozen 2. Lots of sequels to Disney classics have been produced but I never saw a one. They are universally viewed as terrible anyway. Even if another Frozen came out in theatres, I'd just ignore it. Pixar was successful with the Toy Story sequels and Monsters University but they could go anywhere with those stories. They weren't based (loosely or not) off of a classic fairy tale.

I guarantee you some VP is patting himself on the back for coming up with the "genius" move of making fairy tale princess movies--but then giving them random names that's don't specifically reference a princess! That might try to re-release Cinderella as "Shoe," just to see if they can move more Cindy merch among boys.

Not for nothing, but isn't "The Glass Slipper" a common title of the actual fairy tale the movie is based upon?

All the direct to DVD sequels were appalling! The only one that's worth watching is Cinderella 3 A Twist In Time...lol

You have a blog too?

You know, ever since blogs were invented I've considered starting one, but preferred to write all my stuff on message boards instead. Why? Because of the 2-way interaction you get on boards like this one and like what you don't get on your own blog.

Depends on the blog. Mine has a very active comments section. But that sort of thing has to be cultivated.

Obviously, I participate in both. WDWMagic is a fantastic forum. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Blogs scratch a different itch. But when it comes to WDW, you'll get better info here than on 99% of all blogs - mine included.

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
