Who is paying the arbitrator? Arbitrators can be less than middle of the road. Seems like just another avenue for negotiations.

Usual set up (here in Europe at least) is that there are three arbitrators. Each side gets to pick one and these two then have to agree on the third one.

I guess the agreement stipulates the process of arbitration, so @71jason most likely will be able to tell us the specifics.

I'm not even sure it can fit well in DCA.

I think something like a Stark Expo or Guardians of the Galaxy fit far better into DL's TL than anywhere in DCA. Whether or not a person like the idea of Marvel at DLR is a different story but thematically how does any of it fit into DCA except for maybe Tony Stark's home? You'd have to use a tortured "movies are made in California" concept to get it to fit.

Now, Captain America, Thor, Hulk et al -- yeah, I don't see them fitting well in either DL or DCA.

You could put Thor in Fantasyland and because Bruce Banner is a scientist, you may be able to fit him in with the Tomorrowland theme. For Captain America you could put him in Hollywoodland in dca.

That is pretty much the process described, unless they both want the same person and then that person will be the sole arbiter.

Magic Kingdom does have a nice sized space behind Tomorrowland for a new E Ticket. IF Gaurdians is good to go, that would be a pretty good spot imo.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Nightmare Before Christmas were both originally Touchstone releases and we all know how much Roger showed up in the parks.

I think this is the point the OP was making, Roger was *everywhere* in the parks in the early 90s, no parade was complete without him. Nightmare too has become the anchor of Disney's Halloween celebrations, especially in Disneyland.

The reason for all that is Touchstone movies were designed for a time when an adult audience was a bit snooty about a 'Disney' movie, as a way to sell all-ages pictures without any mouse-related stigma. But they weren't afraid to make the most of the family friendly side of things, and it was always a label more than anything else.

Miramax is different because those movies are more adult exclusive, so less likely to have content appealing to put into the parks. Marvel, on the other hand, are once again movies aimed at all ages, so it makes sense to start drawing on them for park content.

Why do I need to be specific, we were clearly talking about Disneyland since the Spirit mentioned in his post about the survey about Marvel characters in Disneyland and not Wdw.

Yes you do because we talk about everything in here. We talk about Shanghai. We talk about Paris. We talk about California. We talk about Hong Kong. We talk about ESPN, consumer products and the Walt Disney Studios and Marvel. But overall, we talk about Orlando the most.

So if you're going to talk about putting Marvel characters into a fantasyland, you need to be specific as to which part you're talking about because we talk about them all.

Marvel shouldn't have any presence in any of the existing American parks outside the gift shops. The only place it could logically fit is DHS and that isn't happening.

I would be more interested in what UNI could do with a new Marvel attraction anyway, but again, I don't know if that will ever happen. When it comes to seeing any mention to Marvel, attractions and contracts, it makes me want to tear my eyes out.

Nah, I 100% disagree the two resorts outside Hong Kong getting Marvel rides should be DLR and DLPR.

Guardians is actually a Sci-Fi franchise that could fit and at least be more appropriately relevant for TL, unlike half the stuff they stick in that section of the park.

Black Panther could easily fit into Adventureland.

Etc.

Potentially I would be more interested in Disney focusing on Star Wars and Marvel over any of their animated endeavors ending up in the parks.

But that is surmising that only movie led properties should be replicated in the parks and not vice versa.

I would say, build a park specifically with Marvel in mind. There's no reason to place any Marvel character in Adventureland. Anywhere.
