interesting, this was reported differently in Mexican newspapers. (ps, the block was reported to be on Cozumel, a small island by Cancun)
And they claimed it was a nurse with direct contact.
Thanks for clarifying!

This is from CNN:
When U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry asked the government of Belize to help evacuate a Dallas hospital worker from a cruise ship off its coast on Friday, officials declined to let her on shore.

The employee of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital was a lab supervisor and did not have direct contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, who died there while being treated for Ebola. But she may have had contact with one of his specimens, the U.S. State Department said.

A doctor on the Carnival cruise ship has declared her symptom-free and in good health. Still, the lab supervisor and a travel partner have undergone voluntary isolation as a precaution.

They may have tried Cozumel too with no luck. The ship is heading back to Galveston now.

I love how CNN has an article up today about "don't panic" when "OMG EBOLA!" has been their top headline since the day this stuff started. Kind of like someone yelling "FIRE!" continuously in a crowded theater, then as everyone starts pouring outside they say, "Oh, it's OK - don't panic guys!"

Well, when you're CNN and fanning the flames for the sake of ratings, you don't want to fan them so much it blows up in your face.

And then when the hype fades you can point to your 'balanced coverage'. I fully get the concerns about sheer incompetence in government over Ebola (not sure why that would surprise anyone), but I can't say I have any greater confidence in the media.

Funny enough, from those two sources, I'd trust Mythbusters more, LOL, when it comes to truth. CDC has proven time and again that it's interests are not with the truth but with whatever agenda they happen to be furthering at the moment, and whatever serves their "playing God" stance along with the AMA.

I agree I trust Mythbusters FAR more than the blovations coming out of the CDC recently

This is really weird. I went to Expo 70 in Osaka, Japan. I have no recollection of any language barrier at all. It seems like everyone spoke English and I don't remember being in any pavilion and not understanding what was happening, but, I don't remember if it was all in English or I just wasn't concerned. Strange how that four days is completely out of my recollection! Might be the sake'!
maybe because they were prepared due of the Expo?

I'm waiting for the rest of the world to place a travel ban on flights to/from the US because of the US Govt's cavalier attitude in regards to allowing people exposed to Ebola to travel on planes and ships, Can't wait for the POTUS press conference when that finally happens.

I think the questions about this are highly overblown. Does everyone speak english? No, but many speak the basics or at least have signs in english, menus with pictures on them, and a general understanding by Japanese people that anyone who doesn't look Japanese WON'T speak their language. Hand gestures, smiles and pointing gets you through most things.

Lots of Brazilians (and many other nationalities) visit WDW without speaking English, and they seem to get on fine, even though most English speakers speak zero Portugese. The Japanese, certainly in the parks, do at least tend to speak a few words, or at least can call over someone who can.

Maybe they were speaking Japanese but you're like Pocahontas in the Disney movie, and can understand any language just by tilting your head a bit strangely.
That's quite possible. I'm sure my head was tilting a bit strangely the entire time I was there. That's what R&R's were for I believe. My motto was... It may be Rice Wine to you, but, it was sake' to me.

Along those lines - Nearly All Studio Ghibli's creations are referenced in the clip

From the Simpsons, Homer "I drank the rice wine, why did I not stop with the snake wine, Why did I drink the fish wine" - Japanese guest "That was the aquarium"...

:joyfull: Fixed that for ya... you're welcome!

So it appears WDAS is again expirimenting with traditional animation and CGI fusion with their upcoming short. I hope that one day they can perfect the technique and put out a feature film with the technology. It would be great for WDAS to have their own unique feel and style, given that Pixar is the leader in CGI animation. This would give Disney a very unique and artistic difference between the two outlets. One can hope...

I think the fusion experiments look really nice, but I think it's all still 3D animation, just using effects to make it look 2D.

I really want to see the reverse, the sort of stuff Glen Keane has been talking about in recent times - 2D animated stuff, but given effects so the audience has no idea it came from a pen and pencil. WDFA always try interesting things with their shorts, so I'm sure this will come sooner or later.

Very much over the scare and panic tactics and hearing about the OMG story of the week.

Don't we all have enough anxiety in our lives? Do we really need more?

Disney talk, please.

Waitaminute.

You have no problem with Cheesesteak talk, the bryan singer/hollywood pedo talk, every other bloody tangent talk but the minute we start discussing whether or not the Ebola fear & sensationalism will have a guest impact here at WDW you draw the line?

It's hand drawn mapped to 3D imaging, from what I understand at least. So it's a hand drawn character that can be refined and appear less crude at certain angles and cinematics. Then again I'm not an expert, just a fan of the art.

Dave,

I'm ok with the guest impact of issues like this, in fact it's interesting. I'm ok with the rest. Especially the cheesesteaks ;) But spreading the fear and panic and continuing what every news media is trying to do (ie, spread fear and panic) regarding Ebola and misinformation is where my magical pixie dust line gets drawn. :)
