Last I heard, #1 feeder market for WDW as well (outside Florida ... and Brazil).

Makes sense. Outside of the rural parts and the hood(s) the rest of NJ is mostly affluent suburbs of 2 of the largest cities in the country (NYC being the biggest). There are a number of large companies (especially in the pharmaceuticals industry) headquartered in NJ as well. Lots of people who fit the income demographic that WDW is targeting these days.

Don't believe it! Every insider claims those damn bands will not ever go to DL...
The bands might not but whose to say some elements of mymagic+ will come in the future and again maybe not this year or next but five years down the road. Disneyland is very local heavy but they do get a lot of travelers as well. Five years ago did everyone believe that we would now be booking our FPs 60 days in advance and be waiting hours to meet two sisters, and seeing DVC everywhere, a DTD overhaul, and nothing new at Epcot besides a TT update...

As far as epcot and world showcase... it is not geared towards adults anymore at all. In fact, with the frozen debacle, it's getting worse.
It's both, but neither at the same time. It's like when they made DHS the "kid" park by putting (then) Playhouse Disney there... no, you didn't make the park kid-friendly; you just put one thing that little kids "have" to see in a park that has little else to offer them. The rides and attractions in World Showcase seem to be heading the kid route, while at the same time there is more booze flowing there than ever. World Showcase right now is like a 4YO's birthday party with a keg.

Here's the thing - DLR face character casting now oversees WDW face character casting, and DLR's casting directors have the authority in the equation. A few years ago when this change occurred, DLR's casting director flew to Florida and "disapproved" countless performers from various roles because he/she didn't feel they were correct for their parts - operational needs be damned.

A lot of WDWers were upset, obviously, but they've never been known for their spot-on face character casting, so the move was considered necessary from DLR's end when it comes to maintaining the brand.

I don't know the particulars of this situation, but it could have just been that the DLR casting directors found no one to approve for the role in WDW, so they ordered the expense as necessary. I'm not totally sure, but it looks like one of the Maleficents for this event was flown out from DLR as well based on some pics I've seen.
Does it mean that there will be more pretty princesses at WDW now? :p

Seaworld and Busch has had that since they updated their app. I don't have to bring my ap with me at all. Just flash barcode on phone for admission and discounts. You can also buy quick q and tours in the app. One of the few smart things management of SEA seem to be doing lately.

There's also some fascination with Florida amongst NJ denizens when it comes to vacations, although most likely it's simply convenient as it's a warm weather location along the East coast. But every time I've vacationed in Florida in the winter, I've noticed a large number of folks from Jersey.
