The Spirited Back Nine ...

Oh.... and apparently the twitiodts are abuzz about tonight's half marathon.

Apparently, its going around that people will start the race and drop out when it starts raining so they can still get their medal.

You must follow very different Twitter accounts than I do. The runners I follow who are doing Wine & Dine tonight are either resigned to 13.1 miles in the rain or even looking forward to the challenge.

Gee, wouldn't it be easier to just mail a medal to everyone who registers, then they don't have to bother showing up on a rainy night... :banghead:
I thought that this is from twitterland should be enough to have everyone shaking their heads and laughing to themselves. Apparently not, Twitter has hardly ever let out information that was anywhere near the truth, why should they start now.

No, I was just texted with screencaps.

I have no desire to follow some people

Interstellar was the best film I've seen in years. Extraordinarily great.

The plot, acting, visuals, and especially the music was fantastic and blended together so well.

Simply put- go see it!
Should I see it in IMAX? It sounds really good, can't wait to see it. Also Big Hero 6 :)

I see what you're saying, but I don't look at it that way. For example, it's the middle of the afternoon, and I'm ready for a snack. I want something healthy, so I stop by one of the market-type stands. I see the exact same boring stuff at every single one--diced melon, carrot and celery sticks, apple slices. Now I'm bored. I want to stick to my healthy lifestyle, but the only options are so dreadfully uninspired that I don't buy anything. So Disney says, "There's no demand for healthy food."

Conversely, let's say they're offering a small portion of fire-roasted veggies with a tahini dipping sauce. You're walking by and notice the attractively photographed dish on a sign and catch a whiff of something that smells delicious. You had no intention of seeking out something healthy...you were probably going to have some fries later...but here you are.

And to be completely fair, there are SOME options available like this, if you really seek them out. I'd just like to see more creativity and fewer carrot sticks.
I see your point. Better offerings could actually increase demand. Part of the problem with that is DDP. Everything has become so generic with multiple quick service locations offering the same basic stuff. It's done to keep things simple and cheap but limits variety. They could offer some more unique and healthy items and just not make them available in DDP.

I just want to quickly chime in here on Big Hero 6. Now, I did not want to see this movie at all -- as it just didn't speak to me and I didn't "get it." Anyway, I was coaxed into going & I ended up liking the movie a lot.

Upon first glance, Baymax looked ridiculous to me, but now I totally love him . I just want my own Baymax -- the plain white one. It is so cold outside with freezing rain and stuff. Baymax looks so soft, gentle & *warm*! I just want to hug and cuddle with him, lol. I loved all of the supporting characters, too. I wish I could elaborate on them a little more but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Children under five may become restless at times with this movie. I noticed this in the theater, but it was nowhere as bad as Wall E. Brave was the worst because kids were hollering & screaming over the bear. I think everyone should see it, especially families with children -- and, it will inspire teenagers, as well.

Big Hero 6 had a nice plot twist, that I couldn't predict. The film also touched on loss & grief issues poignantly without burdening the story, there was also plenty of action so I give it 9 out of 10. I also recommend seeing Big Hero 6 in 3D.

The short film was called "The Feast" -- I love romance so while I liked it enough, but I preferred Paperman from Wreck It Ralph.

As an aside, I think Toy Story 4 is going to surprise everyone after seeing Baymax -- seriously, it would have been okay with me if the film was just called Baymax. I really enjoy all of the Toy Story "short" films and I figure Disney must have an otherworldly plot to top Toy Story 3. So, I will remain cautiously optimistic.

It is more than likely the last of a dying breed,so do yourself a favor and see it in IMAX. Interstellar in its film format is the highest quality picture around. Christopher Nolan is just about the last director with the patience and power to convince Hollywood if he can't have a film format, it's no deal.

Apart from that the movie is a complete journey. For three hours you go on an adventure, not watch a movie. Looking at the film lineup for the near future we won't be getting anything of this caliber for a long time. Don't get me wrong, we'll have lots of good movies over the next couple of years, but a massive and epic cinematic journey? It'll be a bit.

Last year, Disney filed their 10K on November 20.

Don't expect the number of available room nights to drop noticeably more than the 361 rooms at the Poly taken out-of-service for conversion to DVC (representing about 1.2% of total domestic room inventory). Over the quarter, that comes out to roughly 33K room nights.

On average, Disney keeps about 4% of rooms out-of-service for other reasons. The Poly's numbers means it's about 5% right now.

Thank you for posting something accurate.

I am sorry if my comment was interpreted as snarky by some, it was not meant that way at all. I have read way too many inaccurate speculations about how Disney reports occupancy, I was happy to see an accurate accounting. Also, I did not mean to imply this was the first accurate post by you, LOL, I am very impressed by your breakdowns. I suppose my response was just poorly worded, sorry about that.

I understand why disney can't have a baked fries option, because of huge crowds (and they do take forever to bake versus five minutes in a deep fryer) but I don't understand why they don't have a bigger push towards a piece of fruit, or like our awesome @ford91exploder does, offer something else instead of French fries. I Would love to see them add rutabaga, turnips and other veggies to their lineup.

At Columbia Harbour House you can now get brocolli instead of fries.

How does it compare to Avatar? Everyone said similar things about that, that it was more than a movie, that it was an incredible journey... I saw it and thought it was a turd, so I've been burned by these kind of reviews before.
