I don't really know much about Bob Chapek's mindset, but he spoke rather fondly on the non-IP rides at D23 2017, specifically mentioning The Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and IASW as iconic and beloved attractions.

All attractions he's not responsible for. Non-IP attractions he's responsible for state-side are Soarin over the World, and that's IT. He's talking big but isn't do anything about it.
