Hey all, as a fun discussion topic, I was wondering if everyone would like to share their favorite projects that you have worked on from past seasons of Sorcerer's Apprentice or in general. I'll be sharing mine later today. :)

My all time favorite personal project was from the little preshow projects leading up to So you Want to be an Imagineer Season 14 (my first full large scale competition. The prompt was for a Disney/Universal crossover park, so I decided to do a whole alternate timeline from the 1920s into the future of what would have happened if Walt stayed with Universal. Hugely fun mix of imagineering and narrative storytelling. Loved it!
Pionmycake presents:
It all Started with a Rabbit...

-1928-
Walt Disney leaves Universal due to negotiations over Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons. What if that never happened? In a new, alternate timeline, Charles Mintz sees Walt Disney as a man with vision and agrees to take a gamble investing in that. Walt Disney is granted his own sub-studio. He will be given a certain amount of money to start out with and Walt Disney will be given, for the most part, freedom to work independently. Walt is instructed that if his new studio goes bankrupt, he should not expect Universal Studios to bail him out. Walt Disney goes on to create Steamboat Willie starring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Ortensia. It becomes a huge success!
steamboat_oswald__by_rawrguyx6.jpg

-1938-
The very first ever feature length animated movie is released! In order to get the additional funding required from his bosses at Universal, Walt agreed to make a small compromise on his initial vision. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (Starring Betty Boop as Snow White) is a huge critical and commercial success! Walt Disney is given more freedom going forward. Betty Boop was redesigned by Walt to be more wholesome. Her new design heavily resembles Snow White's original design.
PAY-Snow-White.jpg

The rest of Walt Disney's films are all the same as they are in our timeline with the exception of all the Princess movies now starring Betty Boop playing the different princess characters. What began as a compromise with Universal became a signature element of Walt Disney's princess films. One upside to this is that the prince's in the Walt Disney created princess movies were given more distinct and memorable personalities to make up for the princesses all having very similar personalities. Also, Betty Boop became a huge cartoon megastar on the level of Oswald himself. Cartoon shorts focused on Betty Boop's life in Hollywood between filming princess films began to play before every Disney film.

-1965-

Disneyland opens! At this point, Walt has earned the trust of the Universal execs. While nervous and skeptical, they eventually gave Walt the funds he needed to finance his vision. Though it took Walt an extra 10 years to fully convince them resulting in a 1965 opening for Disneyland.

-Hollywood Lane-
HollywoodBoulevard.jpg

Enter under the train station into Hollywood Lane (taking the place of Main Street U.S.A.). Now themed to the glitz and glamour of 1920s Hollywood. Walt Disney wanted a day at his park to remind people of a day at the movies. The red brick walkway resembling a red carpet, the posters under the train station resembling the previews before films, the smell of popcorn resembling concession stands, and a journey through Betty Boop's classic Hollywood resembling the shorts before Disney films. At the end of Hollywood Lane is the breathtaking Cinema Castle! Betty Boop's humble yet fantastic castle is the centerpiece of the park.

-Adventureland-
Adventureland is still themed as a jungle full of adventure even in this alternate timeline. Pirates of the Caribbean (now a part of Adventureland at park opening), Tiki Room, Swiss Family Treehouse, and Jungle Cruise remain the same (despite protests from Universal to theme Jungle Cruise to King Kong).

-Monsterland-
cs-monsters-quad.png

Instead of Fronteirland, Walt Disney decided to build Monsterland (a decision aided by the suggestions of the execs at Universal). A land full of dramatic green and purple lighting against gothic gray and black buildings. Vampire Mountain is a thrilling rollercoaster through Dracula's mountain top castle home (filling the void left by Thunder Mountain's absence). Haunted Mansion is now an opening day ride. Sadly, Haunted Mansion is now about Abott and Costello fumbling through a Haunted House. This was the biggest example of executive meddling in the park and a real sore spot for Walt and his Imagineers. To compesate for this, Walt built The Museum of the Weird as a walkthrough next door. The walkthrough was considered to be Walt and the Imagineer's "pure" version of the Haunted Mansion even if it is much smaller and made on a lower budget. A Sea Monster themed flume ride (filling the void of Splash Mountain) was planned but never built. The large show building was built, but it was left empty.

-Fantasyland-
Small World is not built. The large patch of land is used for a Betty Boop Princess Adventure boat ride. A slow moving boat ride themed to Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. The space previously occupied by Snow White's Scary Adventure is now occupied by a dark ride themed to the recently released Sword in the Stone. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was never built, but Walt's plans for that ride morphed into a 101 Dalmations themed dark ride. A mad cap car ride through the streets of London avoiding Cruella and helping the Dalmations escape. The only Hell in this ride is the length of the queue lines during the busy summer months. The carousel is now themed to Mary Poppins with a "floating" figure of Poppins bobbing up and down above the carousel. Dumbo, Teacups, and Peter Pan's Flight remain the same. The Alice in Wonderland dark ride as well as Matterhorn both open with the park now.

-Tomorrowland-
Like Adventureland, Tomorrowland is virtually identical at launch. The biggest change is that construction on Space Mountain is already starting at park open. Also, the Submarines are never built.

-1966-
Tragically, Walt Disney dies ju
st one year after his park opens. Having spent an extra decade getting his park built, Walt never had a chance to truly start work on the Florida project before his death. Walt Disney World and Epcot are never built. The execs at Universal begin to have more control over the Walt Disney Company.

-1970s-
Jungle Cruise loses it's theme of a cheesy, comedic attraction to become the King Kong themed boat ride through Skull Island. Swiss Family Treehouse is bulldozed to free up space for the expanded river of the Skull Island boat ride. Space Mountain becomes a more extreme coaster to appeal to teens and adults that may be bored by all the family friendly rides. The coaster goes inside and outside of the Space Mountain building. The unsuccessful change of the People Moved into the Rocket Rods happens here in the 1970s. It will be closed by the 1980s. The Sword in the Stone Dark ride is closed to make way for a Robin Hood Dark ride. This is considered the most successful and well-received post-Walt decision in the parks yet.

-1980s-

The 80s represent a period of stagnation for the studio and the parks. 101 Dalmations dark ride is replaced with a Great Mouse Detective Dark ride. This is considered by most to be a lateral move. The showbuilding in Monsterland meant for the flume ride remains unused. The biggest thing to happen in the parks is the addition of a Back to the Future Simulator ride in Tomorrowland. The simulator ride and building were meant for Star Tours, but contract negotiations fell through part way through construction. A Roger Rabbit dark ride starts construction at the end of the decade in Hollywood Lane to capitalize on the films success.

-1990s-
At the start of this decade (before the Renaissance began fully), a deal was struck with Hanna Barbera. Scooby Doo replaced Abbot and Costello as the theme for the Haunted Mansion. The Museum of the Weird was replaced with a character dining restaurant with Scooby Doo characters. Space Mountain is given a Jetsons theme.
scoobys-haunted-mansion-wallpaper.jpg

The Disney Renaissance films are what really revitalize the studio and the park! The Betty Boop Princess Adventure Boat Ride is rethemed to Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid (both starring Betty Boop of course). Alice in Wonderland, Great Mouse Detective, and Robin Hood Dark rides are all gutted to make way for new Lion King E ticket utilizing the same technology found in Indiana Jones Adventure in our timeline. Tiki Room is bulldozed to make room for a Mulan themed drop tower (an outdoor one similar to Doctor Dooms Fear Fall. The tower is made to look like a Pagoda with the ride vehicle being themed to fireworks). At the end of the decade, plans are put in place to replace the dated Skull Island boat ride with a Tarzan Log Flume E ticket.

The last major addition of the 90s is Oswald the Lucky Rabbit's Toon Town. This is much smaller than the current toon town as the Roger Rabbit dark ride was built in Hollywood Lane. It features Oswald and Ortensia's houses. Goofy's Play house is still here. Popeye's boat is built (rather than Donald's Boat. Donald never became a huge star since Universal though him too similar to Popeye as they are both sailors and discouraged Walt producing Donald cartoons).

-2000s-

Opposition arises! After the success of Toy Story 2, Universal takes note of Pixar and tries to add them to the Uni, Disney, Hanna- Barbera family. Pixar feels like the current management of that conglomerate is too focused on money and what's next and not focused enough on telling good stories. Pixar turns down the offer. Not long after, George Lucas approaches Pixar with a deal. Lucasfilm and Pixar team up to build a competing theme park on the East Coast with Lucasfilm providing much of the financing and Pixar providing much of the creative direction. By 2006, the new park opens. By 2010, Marvel Studios is formed and teams with this new, creativity focused Lucasfilm. A Marvel land expansion is in development set to open at the same time as the Avengers releases in 2012.
Pixar+Wars.jpg

Unhappy with this turn of events, Universal refuses to let another new animation powerhouse gain power as a competitor. After the smash hit success of Shrek, DreamWorks is bought by Universal/Disney. Peter Pan's Flight is rethemed and expanded into a Shrek Dark Ride. The recently opened Tarzan Log Flume is almost immeadietly rethemed into Madagascar.
Universal-studios-singapore-Madagascar-Crate-Adventure.jpg

The empty show building in Monsterland is finally filled with a Dark Ride rollercoaster hybrid themed to the hit Brendan Frasier Mummy movies. Oswald's Toon town becomes Bedrock. A new small land themed to the live action Flintstones movie. A kiddie coaster themed to a pterodactyl is added as well as a Bowling Alley (the bowling alley does still cost money to play). The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is gutted and replaced with a new ride using the same ride system from the Spider-Man ride in Islands of Adventure and themed to the Johney Depp movies.

Work begins on a second gate focused on intense thrill rides.

-2010s-
All the additions of the previous decade are no match for the additions of Marvel Land and Wizarding World of Harry Potter over in the Lucasfilm park. Plus the very popular Radiator Springs land.

The big news for Universal is the second gate. Featuring a state of the art flying coaster loosely themed to Peter Pan, a Simpson's simulator ride, a Fast & the Furious Test Track style ride (which many call a rip off of Radiator Springs Racers), an Emperor's New Groove coaster (themed to Yzma's lab), a Lilo and Stitch simulator, and a loosley themed Godzilla Rollercoaster. The park was clearly rushed out quickly to open in 2012, the same year as Marvel land, and does not have many attractions and the theming is often rather simple and undetailed. Many are calling it just a step above Six Flags and not up to Disneyland quality.

After the success of Despicable Me, Universal purchases Illumination Entertainment out of fear that it will join Lucasfilm too. The hope is that Illumination can help DreamWorks as that studio is not doing as well as it has in the past. In a move many call unforgivable, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt's most famous cartoon, is given to Illumination rather than Disney Studios to create a new movie. The hope is that Illumination can turn Oswald's Bunny children into a Minion style adorable army of blandly mischievous characters that will sell billions in merch. The movie is set to release in 2018, yet Facebook memes with the bunny children have already begun to pop up.
bunny_children_by_aquamist101-d5mar57.jpg

Space Mountain is rethemed to Gru's lab as a Despicable Me coaster. The Back to the Future simulator becomes rethemed to minions. In an effort to cash in on nostalgia for the old Kong ride, the Madagascar flume ride is rethemed to a very intense Kong Flume ride. In a show of confidence for their upcoming shared monster movie universe, Vampire Mountain becomes Dracula's Flight and is rethemed to the upcoming Dracula Untold movie. The film bombs just as it did in our timeline and the retheme is looked at as a waste of money.
maxresdefault.jpg

Matterhorn becomes Dragon Mountain themed to How to Train your Dragon. The Mulan drop tower is rethemed to Kung Fu Panda. The Betty Boop Princess Boat ride is rethemed entirely to Frozen (starring Betty Boop and her newly invented sister Lilly Boop as Elsa and Anna respectively). The Roger Rabbit Dark Ride in Hollywood Lane is replaced with a 4d theater that shows a Wreck it Ralph movie. Very recently plans have been anounced to replace the Wreck it Ralph film with a Jimmy Fallon film by the end of 2017.

-Future-
Plans are made to replace Bedrock with a new version of Oswald's Toon Town. The hope is to have Toon Town open with the release of the Oswald movie. Universal is still confident with the shared monster movie universe and plan to retheme the entirety of Monsterland to the new movies as they come out over the next decade.

The second gate is planned to expand with a more traditionally "Disney" land themed to Zootopia. A Secret Life of Pets dark ride is rumored for the second gate, but has not been anounced yet. A Tangled themed drop tower will be added to the second gate by 2020.
635924657937624242-zoo2.jpg

Over at Lucasfilm Park, a Nintendo Land was recently announced as well as small expansions to the Pixar Land and Marvel Land. Rumors persist of a Fantastic Beasts expansion to Wizarding World, but nothing is actually happening yet. The largest expansion is to Star Wars Land. A large project tied to the new sequel trilogy (Episodes 7,8, and 9) and set to be completed in phases over the next 5-7 years.

Finally, both Universal and Lucasfilm are racing to open their first international parks in an attempt to cash in on the growing Chinese market. Lucasfilm is building in Hong Kong and is expected to be open by 2022. Disneyland Shanghai is expected to open in 2023. Universal execs are trying to expedite construction to open first, but they are afraid of opening another half finished dud park (like the second gate). Funds from much of Disneyland's upcoming expansions will be relocated to Shanghai so it can open in 2022. This will prompt posters on WDLmagic.com forums to blame all problems with the two parks in America on Shanghai. #thanksshangahi

(All artwork was found on Google images and are not my own. I unfortunately did not have time to create original art)
-2030s-
All out nuclear war between the Universal Corporate Conglomerate and the Lucasfilm Creative Conglomerate devastates the world. Few remain. Universal execs try to turn the ruined wasteland of our world into a Mad Max theme park experience in a desperate plea to take what's left of the world's money. A brave soldier is sent back in time to convince Charles Mintz to rethink his deal with Walt and mame it so that Walt Disney leaves Universal to create Mickey Mouse. This brave soldier saves the world. Now 127 years old, the soldier has taken to calling himself Pionmycake onlime. He warns all he can about the apocalypse that almost happened and how it all started with a rabbit.

My favorite group project that I was a part of was the MGM Studios redesign from SA season 4! An all around nearly perfect project put together by a fantastic group of people! Just look at that map by @D Hindley! Some of his best work!!

And my favorite group project that I was not a part of was the ski resort Brava made in SA4 before I was moved to that team. Amazing execution of an amazing concept!

Pahkopē Ski Resort, a new Disney DVC Experience

Today, at a press event, the gracious and most perfect human being, our lord and savior, Bob Chapek announced that Disney is developing, for the first time in the company’s history a DVC Ski Resort in Canada! According to him, this will be one of the most immersive and impressive Ski Resorts in the world, as he promises that Disney is trying to revolutionize the market, to create a new style of Disney Vacation.

During the press release, he also pointed out that we will see some familiar faces, and a ton of Disney references all over the Resort, as he wanted to make sure that this felt like an authentic Disney Vacation. He even went as far as mentioning that it’s their objective to open it in Mickey’s Birthday in 2022, as a gift to the mouse that started it all. Keep Reading...

First of all, Go Red Sox! Whoop whoop! Second, let me share with you some of my favorite projects I've done. Since, this would involve tons of pictures and videos, I'll just post the links to the various sites.

First, although we didn't win that round, I was incredibly proud of my team's submission for "Pines of Paris" in The Sorcerer's Apprentice Season 4.

fiadl3Z.jpg

Another favorite project was a component for Project Two in SYWTBAI Season 15. Cinderella's Midnight Journey, designed to replace Snow White's Scary Adventures at the Magic Kingdom, was designed to emulate the pastoral mood of the film. And seeing as how @TheOriginalTiki has claimed it was his favorite of the three I made, I guess I did my job right.

As @spacemt354 said when judging Stanza IV of The Sorcerer's Apprentice Season 4, I have quite a talent for dark rides. That was his reaction to Aladdin's Whole New World, a dark ride created for Disneyland Brazil's Adventureland.

walt-disney-screencaps-the-sultan-s-palace-walt-disney-characters-35946634-5739-3108-display-large-1472713391_orig.jpg

Another favorite came from SYWTBAI Season 15, where I joined the team of Innovators to create The Magic Kingdom, a new kind of Disney park-based video game.

797726_399a149ecb8c4f9db88164e9707d7eab~mv2.webp

Speaking of which, have I ever introduced you to my pal, Clef? He's the Royal Minstrel of Fantasyland, ya know.

medieval-bard-6.jpg

Don'cha just love loophole abuse? For a project in SYWTBAI Season 14, my team was asked to make a new version of Haunted Mansion Holiday to fit Walt DIsney World's Haunted Mansion. But since we weren't specifically told which holiday to use, we thought: why not do all of them?

Exterior.png

And since Halloween is right around the corner, why not share something spooky? Or, in this case, spoopy. It's The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Don't Dream It...Be It!

rocky-horror-picture-show-oakley-court.jpg

In keeping with this spooky mood, how about a musical based off one of the scariest films in the Disney canon? I whipped up the script for that beauty in one night, just barely meeting the deadline!

Poster_zpssyow60j7.png

And that's about all I can think of right now.

Hey all, as a fun discussion topic, I was wondering if everyone would like to share their favorite projects that you have worked on from past seasons of Sorcerer's Apprentice or in general. I'll be sharing mine later today. :)
I just realized I never answered this myself... I can think of three personally.

#1 is my individual winning project from Sorcerer's Apprentice 4: http://aceastro.ca/AceNews.html

The website was a massive pain as I couldn't get anything to work right but I was happy with the final product.

#2 is my favourite is the Attack of the Chewing Caterpillar. It was a short prompt but we were having so much fun with it it is hard to forget! https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads...ason-4-homecoming-edition.938985/post-8198903

The news that Bug's Land would be closing by the end of the year to make way for Marvel Land did not sit well with Heimlich.

Now the beloved, fan-favorite Chew Chew Train, is going off the rails.

Experience one last Halloween Hurrah from the Bugs at Disney's California Adventure.

Heimlich is hungry, but not for snacks.

He is hungry......for blood!!!

But also snacks, blood and snacks.

So join us on this Attack of the Chewing Caterpillar, and escape if you can.

enhance

Look on with shock and horror as the beast rips into the flesh of a rotting apple, experience it hunt down animal crackers as he prepares for his real victims, and witness the terrifying sight of the watermelon dripping red like blood from an open wound.

Heimlich will devour all, just hope you aren't in his path.

As we're sure guests will be looking to get some exclusive merchandise after living this spooky and mind boggling experience, our team has designed an exclusive Funko Pop, T-Shirts for all the family, and a plush that your kids will be begging to (not) sleep with! And if you're looking for something to eat, well it's your lucky day, exclusive dining offerings, such as the Bloody Apples, Fried Caterpillars, and Insect Chow Mein.

After the success of the Purple wall and the bubble gum wall and the toothpaste wall and so many other classic Walt Disney World Walls, it was time that Disneyland finally got it’s own: The Bloody Watermelon Wall! Instagram is already loving it!

With the success that was Monsters after Dark for Mission - BREAKOUT, expanding this Halloween theme to more of California Adventure makes sense and Team Brava believes this is the perfect next step.

And #3 is my favourite non-SA project - The first project from the Great Movie Ride. It was adding a Black Panther land to DHS. It was my first project on the forum and I met terrible people like @spacemt354 :p

--Cold Opening--
ORLANDO.JPG

In Scene 1: Act a Fool, each of your studio teams will be creating our own Planet Spaceball, but on a much smaller scale. We will be picking one IP and creating a mini, 2 attraction land for the IP you choose. We are not looking for a sprawled out 11 acre land like Toy Story Land, but something on a smaller scale that won't overwhelm a theme park.....

Wakanda
Disney's Hollywood Studios
--2023--
3700166503603069477%253Faccount_id%253D9

--Act I--

Introduction
Wakanda is located in equatorial Africa and in the MCU Planet Earth. It is what explorers used to think was 'El Dorado'. Wakanda is a very secretive and hidden country. It is also very advanced in their technology and innovation when compared to the rest of the countries on Earth. While it is a technological country, it also has vastly large areas of forests and jungles. It has absolutely stunning views and beautiful flora and fauna. While the flora and fauna are beautiful, Wakanda’s main claim to fame is the large pool of Vibranium, a rare Earth metal, that they have. It is important to the MCU as it is what Captain America’s Shield is made out of and also what Ultron was made of.

Based off of the prompt we felt Wakanda was a good idea for many reasons. The first being that we knew we had to be careful with what we put in Hollywood Studios as Universal Studios still has the contract deal. Due to this, there were some limitations on what we could build. That means we had to focus on some of the newer superheroes in the MCU. We felt that focusing on the Black Panther was the best option out of them all. With those large forests, the new, updated technology, the unique buildings, there are endless possibilities to it. With the Jungle design, we can add them further back to almost make a façade making the land seem larger than it is. Using the trees to our advantage, we expect that this land would be 6-8 acres but could feel as big, if not bigger than Toy Story Land which is 11 acres.

Backstory
Due to the aftermath events of Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War - the MCU 'earth' as radically changed for good. The whole world is aware that aliens from far away planets and galaxies exist, that we are not the only species in the universe, and that we need to stand together on earth in order to defeat enemies domestically and around the multi-verse.

With this, the Wakandan government, led by T'Challa, has overruled their stance on secrecy and isolationism in this new world. The once protected whereabouts of Wakanda will be opened to the planet of earth, allowing the planet as a whole to share in the wealth of technological advancements needed to sustain a suitable defense for future adversaries. Yet while there is an ominous reason for the Wakanda to be known to the people of earth, there is also an incredible opportunity for edutainment and offerings that were not available before.

The afro-futurism of Wakanda has become a hot spot for not only the world's top scientists and inventors, but also a tourist capital of the planet. Millions of people travel to Wakanda in order to walk its technologically advanced streets, explore their jungles and caves, from the ground, and the air.

Wakanda will be inserted into the south side of Disney's Hollywood Studios; an area currently preoccupied by Star Tours, the Backlot Express, and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular backstage venues. After the 50th anniversary and opening of Star Wars Land as well as the Indiana Jones attraction in 2021, Star Tours experienced a decline in attendance and there was no need for cast backstage areas for an Indy Stunt Show.

Wakanda is approximately 7 acres and encompasses all of the Backlot Express, Star Tours, and the backstage areas. Backstage roads were maneuvered around the show buildings for both attractions in Wakanda.

1 - Journey to the Vibranium Mine

As you meander pass the Indiana Jones attraction, a pathway catches your eye. A glowing sign with neon that seems to sparkle sits to the left of the path. You follow it, and you find yourself in a lush forest that soon breaks away to reveal the outskirts of a prosperous city. A building in front of you that seems to lead into the earth reads “Wakandan Mine”. It looks abandoned. Intrigued, you enter, and walk down steps that lead you deeper and deeper into the earth. This tunnel is relatively cramped at first, and the walls are made of stone held by wood beams. Eventually, the queue opens up into a larger room that feels more and more technological, akin to Navi River Journey. The queue wraps around the room in rows, and in between rows are dusty glass cases showcasing some of the enormous gems found in the mines, like diamonds. As you progress further, the cases show weapons and shields created with vibranium, the country’s most valuable export. Eventually the now expansive tunnel is covered in silver and white panels that glow with technicolor circuitry. The queue turns left, and you face an enormous waterfall, in stark contrast to the slick background. Cracks from the worn panels, revealing stone underneath, can be seen at the top of the waterfall. As your gaze falls from the waterfall, you notice that a river is behind it. You begin to notice rafts, like the ones on Kali River Rapids, are floating through the river. Again, the queue circles around, and this time, you can see the loading dock.

Attraction Ride-Through
After you board, the boat rocks and takes you through a dark passageway. You can feel the boat going up a hill. A voiceover can be heard:

“For centuries, we have remained isolated from the world, but now we open our doors to you. Welcome to Wakanda.”
latest

The tunnel ends, and you are now outside. You are on the outskirts of Wakanda, and billowing skyscrapers can be seen in the distance. The boat then turns right and goes down a thrilling hill that is parallel to the tunnel. Again, you are in a dark tunnel, except this time, the walls shimmer and sparkle with gems. It is a cool room and mist is ubiquitous.

“Our most prized possession: vibranium. Mysterious as it is beautiful, it is the lifeblood of our country. As much as we try to protect it, there are others who do not see it for what it truly is: a gift from the unknown.”

An AA of a raider can be seen trying to use a chisel to break a chunk of vibranium free from the wall. Another AA is behind him, facing the boat. He points a blaster at the crowd.

“You didn’t see anything.”

The boat stops at a barrier and turns around to face the scene. A Black Panther AA comes out of a crevice in the wall.
BLAP_post_master-3-960x540.jpg

“It would be wise to return that to its rightful place.”

Instead of obeying, the one AA shoots a blaster at the boat, causing it to fall straight down (similar to the Verbolten attraction at Bushe Gardens Williamsburg.) Deeper in the mine now, and the structure now compromised, the raft starts to shake as a gust of water pushes them forward rapidly, passing the scene you can see in the queue. After the turn in the queue, there is another small drop and then a series of sharp turns. You can hear footsteps and breathing of the Black Panther and the thieves as you sweep through the dark mines.

The boat slowly loses momentum and starts to drift. The thieves pant. The room is really shaking now.

“Did we lose him?”

“Lose who?” the Black Panther’s voice booms. There is a large smash, and a burst of light comes from above. A Black Panther AA is holding a large piece of stone/ceiling, sets it on the ground.

“You have made your bed, and now you must lie in it,” BP says. The AA moves towards the boat but disappears in darkness. You hear footsteps in the water and then the boat starts to rise towards the crevice in the ceiling. You feel yourself being thrust into the air and back on ground level again. A BP AA is there, and you can hear the mine collapse beneath you.

“Hope you enjoyed the tour,” he says. The boat heads back to the loading dock.

2 - Warrior Falls Excursions

Location
Warrior Falls Excursions will replace 'Star Tours' - after the opening of Star Wars Land in 2019 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Themed after a flight simulator, the exterior and interior of the attraction will be refurbished and renovated to fit the thematic considerations of a Wakandan jungle terrain, as you approach the technologically advanced structure within the forest that houses the flight vehicles for the Wakandan tours.

Queue
blackpanther-conceptart1.jpg

Walking through the dense forestation, you wind through intricatly designed hedges stacked on top of each other to completely enclose the guests from the outside environment of Disney's Hollywood Studios. You feel completely immersed in the world of Wakanda as you continue to trek further into the jungle. Guests pass by various signs and signatures from the Black Panther comics and film such as directions to the Woods of Solitude and Paradise Forest.

Replacing the AT-AT in front of the queue, and a large artifact that you walk around before entering into the flight wing, is an intimidating Panther statue, glaring over the guests, with greenery and waterfalls flanking it on both sides, adding a much needed sense of foliage and water to Disney's Hollywood Studios - a park known for being a 'concrete jungle'.

Inside the facility housing the tours, guests note the astonishingly futuristic designs of the Wakandan citizens. Guests have entered a multipurpose facility, with three layers, each designed for a different means of transportation. The first wing guests walk through is an emergency medical bay as seen in Captain America Civil War - intended for high risk patients if they need transport into or out of Wakanda quickly for security measures. Several oxygen tanks containing people from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Bucky Barnes placed in an induced coma. On the wall are several video monitors and checkpoints displayed on a large screen, with the medical bay information throughout.

As you walk further, you enter into the entirely robotic transportation hub of the facility. The purpose of this wing is the accumulation of vibranium needed to be exported out of Wakanda and to other governments for their specific needs.

The final bay in the multi-purpose facility is the Wakandan tours - where you watch a 5 minute video explaining the security procedures and safety precautions for the flight. You will be flying in custom Wakandan quin-jets designed by King T'Challa himself, to hopefully offer the most comfortable and entertaining experience for the tourists of this great nation.

Attraction Ride-Through
The attraction begins as the guests put on their 3D glasses and the screen opens up to reveal a launch bay with a jungle surrounding in front of it. Flight attendant crews announce the launch and the tour-jet takes off and you feel the force of the launch propel you backwards in your seat, before a feeling of floating sensation as the high mountain peaks crest underneath the jet.

The quin-jet makes a sharp right turn at a 45 degree angle and soars down towards Warrior Falls, where many of the local inhabitants are participating in a chant with powerful drum beats emanating through the canyon hillsides.

The flight continues on before dark clouds encapsulate your vehicle in a lightning storm and you hear a thunderous growl of a panther in the distance, as lightning flashes shaking the cabin inside the quin jet. Suddenly, gunfire can be heard and seen all around your flight, as invading ships attempt to board your quin-jet. The self-defense mechanism of the ship takes into effect as your quin-jet begins firing back and proceeding to evasive maneuvers, which includes a large drop into the falls and a 720 spin out of fire, now facing the invading ships head on.

In the distance, you see Wakanda, lit up in vibrant light blue colors in the darkness of the storm, looming on the horizon. Your quin-jet launches towards the city as you head for the Central Wakanda Palace to safety. You feel the strong force propel you back into the seat, yet experience turbulence, when a Hydra jet smashes into the side of your vehicle - claiming that you hold the Winter Soldier.

Your pilot android alerts the King of Wakanda, T'Challa, and you are informed to head to Primitive Peaks and lose them in the valley, awaiting savior from the Black Panther Cult.

A 180 spin and you head over the Serpent Valley, soaring through and around the trees, as a 3D snake almost pierces your windshield. You sail over the River of Grace and Wisdom as water splashes up to the screen and you can smell the tranquil waters below.

Continuing on T'Challa's you arrive at Primitive Peaks with Hydra still hot on your tail, The android pilot once again engages in evasive maneuvers in an attempt to shake the incoming fire. After sailing around the peaks, the Dora Milaje charges out in quin-jets of their own and begins to fire at the Hydra agents, saving you in the process. One of the bullets however from Hydra vessels is able to hit your back engine, causing you to crash land inside the Primitive Peaks.

Surrounded in darkness, you can only hear the faint gunfire outside, and the gravel inside the mountain still shaking upon your crash landing. A faint light can be seen in the distance, as Erik Killmonger, an infamous supervillain the Black Panther comics, arises from the darkness, and attempts to board your vehicle with surrounding agents. A prowl is heard as loud as can be, and leaping over the screen in front of you is the Black Panther himself, and an epic 3D hand to hand combat ensues in front of you. Using the spirit of the Panther, Black Panther flips back on top of your vessel and launches you out of the Primitive Peaks and back towards the launch bay. With one final blast of speed, you propel back towards the tour bay and to safety.

While your experience was a treacherous one, throughout the enduring adventure, guests are able to take in the beauty and charm of the Wakanda landscape.

mPKTEMKO.jpg

On the outskirts of Wakanda is a small marketplace where riders exit from on the Warrior Falls Excursions attraction. The design of the marketplace is seen in the concept art above. The current location of this marketplace is Tatooine Traders, which offers a similar design to the structures seen in Wakanda. The refurbishment to Star Tours will add new Wakanda languages to the signage and add glass panels around the building to fit the Wakanda design.

Inside the marketplace is a shop selling Black Panther film merchandise as well as Marvel gear for all ages.

5 - Wakanda Trail
This will be a walk-through similar to Cretaceous Trail or any of the Pandora trails using interactive elements. Guests can enter the walking trail on the left side of the mini-land as soon as it comes into view.

The trail wraps around a waterfall and the tranquil rivers of the jungle terrain. You can hear exotic animals around you, the flowing of water, and the prowl of a panther in the distance. Inside you walk into a Panther temple with glow in the dark visuals around you that gives you a sense that you are in an ancient mystic center. Chanting can be heard in the distance and you can tap your magic band onto the walls to learn about Wakanda's past. A booming voice tells you about the trials and tribulations of being King of Wakanda, and the burden it bears. Continuing on throughout the cave, are jumping fountains and glistening glows of the cave walls. Through a series of switchbacks, the walking trail dumps out in front of the entrance to the Journey to the Vibranium Mine attraction.

Wakanda Trail be the first walking trail in Disney's Hollywood Studios adding much needed variety to the park.

Mid-Credits Scene
Future Expansion
If the Wakanda Trail becomes popular, audio-animatronics will be added to the walking trails with different sorts of animal encounters (Like the Triceratops Encounter they used to have at Universal Studios Florida or the Raptor Encounter they have now. They are fairly realistic and can make great and fun family or solo photos)

End-Credits Scene
Future Expansion
If Warrior Falls Excursions is successful and guests enjoy it, to add in more variety and areas to explore within Wakanda, different story-lines throughout the attraction will be added to support the sequel plots, similar to Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.
