There really are :) I recommend the Contemporary but that could because it's where I grew up, When My grand-parent went in 73 that's where they stayed, and then my parents and finally all my childhood trips. :D

I thought about DVC, but I need to pay off Student loans and other things first.

I am between Disneyland or Tokyo for next year.
DVC was passed down to me from my parents, that's some sort of option they have, so I'm all covered!:D

I am staying in USA for now, until I get around to learning another language:p

I would like Bay Lake Towers, but it's a lot of points. Its probably going to be Old Key West, Saratoga Springs(my home resort), Aulani(thats what my GF wants, but nothing about it screams vacation to me...who wants relaxation when you can have rides?!:p;)) or Grand Californian, although that is hard to get.

Hopefull it turns out great!:)

Thank you, luckily my GF speak Japanense which will be helpful, it just I hope we can save up enough money for either/or.

That makes sense, though I agree. My GF wants to go to Aulani, and I am like but all it is is a beach, where are the rides.

One Little Spark...
My GF friends all recommend it so I was trying to make her happy. I am hoping to check out the CBR when I go down next time.
Ya'll should enjoy it, don't get me wrong. But, I've heard it put at such a high standard, that I think I went in with my expectations too high. I would rather have stayed in the new suites at PORS.

Here's a rundown...(and, hopefully some of this has changed over the past year since my trip)...

1) My room was ok. Larger than Pop, but still felt like a Value room. The furniture was horribly run down, and the bottom drawer was even missing handles. That didn't get fixed during my 13 day stay, even though I called it in.

2) The WORST bus service I've ever had at Disney. Absolute WORST. (the best was Pop, because you could do Pop or AoA to get home). The reason for this is, even though there is only 1 bus stop...there is only 1 bus stop. (try to get into building 4, it's literally right next to the stops, as a tip). However, what makes it especially annoying is that, while FQ sometimes runs dedicated busses, sometimes it doesn't. So, going to the parks? Well, it could be a 15 minute ride, or you may have to cycle all the way through PORS. And, you won't know until you hit the turn at the PORS main gate.

3) The food court was CONSTANTLY filthy. I don't mean powdered sugar on the tables from beneights, or nitpicking. No. I mean tables that would be dirty when I'd go down to snag coffee in the morning, and would be in the same condition when I'd go down at night for dinner. I mean overflowing trash cans that appeared to never be emptied. A filthy beverage par that I swear only got cleaned once a day (and, I don't know if this was due to me, but I did complain about the ice buildup to a CM and mentioned "You know, I worked 11 years in a restaurant...the easiest way to clean that is just to pour a bucket of hot water in the drain"...because, after I mentioned that (on day 3 or so), I noticed them doing just that the other nights. Again, dunno if it was my suggestion, but it would be sad if it was. Oh, and the roached. That's right, dead and living roaches. Not in the outside eating area (which is bad, but forgivable). Oh no. In the inside area as well. On a regular basis.

Now, the pros.

1) The main building itself is gorgeous, as are the exterior and garden features of the rest of the resort.

2) The boat to DTD is neat, but not as convenient as people would have you think due to limited hours of operation (doesn't operate after dark, for example).

3) The carriage ride is a must do.

4) It's a rather short and pleasant walk to PORS, and their food court is vastly superior.

5) The bars (both of them) are very nice and the bartenders some of the friendliest and best I experienced on any of my stays.

6) It's got a GREAT pool.

I would agree. The price is to high now, its to much. Though I have a feeling I will be going to the Grand Floridian soonish.
Stay in the new sections (rent DVC points) or wait for a room refurb. I had a friend who stayed there last year (and not in a cheap way, he spent nearly 20k on his trip...I balk at that) and said the resort was nice (which I knew) but the rooms are really shabby.

I'd aim for Poly, myself, if I was going to stay on the loop again.

I will keep that in mine, Luckily I currently have no plans to eat there so we shall seen. :D I will have to take up the Carriage that sounds like fun and that is a good note about the bars.

I will give you a update review to tell you if they have fixed the issues that you have mentioned, how does that sound.

Ouch ouch ouch I will have to keep that in mind it will prolly be a 2 years or more until then. If I do the Grand Floridian Trip I am also doing the cruise. My GF wants to do both so I am trying to hold them off for a 2 week Honeymoon if we get married. :D

I'm hoping it's gotten better. I was just very disappointed, considering the high standard it seems to have set with others as the "best place outside of a deluxe".

I was pretty ruthless in my trip report about it (pictures of the food court conditions, including the roaches, for example)...and I know Disney reads my trip reports (at least on the other site I post it to, which, I don't post there as much anymore, but it also means my report doesn't get lost in the mix because there are only a few who post over there)...long story as to how I know, but I know they do.

That's good to know. I could go ahead and message one of my friends, they currently lifeguard at the FQ.

They should be up for room renovations soon. I think the last ones they got was 4 or 5 years ago.

I'd just keep an eye on that (or rent DVC points and stay in the brand new section).

Have either of you stayed at an All Star resort? I will probably visit next year around this time without using the points, and I am wondering what it is like

I can't complain about the lifeguards at all, only compliment (they were always playing games and entertaining kids, and just being...well...Disney lifeguards)

The outside rec people (who ran the marshmallow roasts and the movies on the green) were likewise excellent. Front desk was great, as were the people in the gift shop and baggage services.

They have a doorman who was VERY nice and wears a huge funny hat.

There's live entertainment there every few nights in the bar as well, which is fun to listen to (I'd go down after the kiddo was in bed and work on the trip report and have a nightcap).

Interior maintenance and mousekeeping were terrible (there were a few times that our trash didn't even get emptied, and I wondered if mousekeeping even showed up). The plumbing was old and worn (I have only two things that I require from a shower...good heat, and good pressure...this had both, but the was so worn that it took me a few days to figure out how to get it to sit in just the right spot between freezing cold and burn your skin off). And, like I said, compared to CBR (when I stayed there, they had just gotten room renovations) everything just felt worn and beat up.

That makes sense. Thanks for the head's up. :D

@Voxel

You may not want to eat at the food court, but you should at least check out some fresh coffee and beneights.

They are a must (though, not the most authentic recipe, still delish!)

They also have homemade icecream, which is unique.

The Shrimp Po Boy is FANTASTIC. As is the Gumbo.

Beneights, I shall keep that in mind. :D Writing those done now so that I can try those when I am done.
