Intro
For years, there have been rumblings of Disney doing some kind of "All Villains" area at Walt Disney World. It's either been in the form of mini-land within the Magic Kingdom or even a full blown "Night Kingdom" park. Since these plans have yet to actually materialize and it's a really good idea, Universal has decided to beat the mouse to the punch by opening the all new Villain Walk Complex.
Universal Villain Walk will be a top to bottom overhaul of CityWalk featuring all new shopping and dining establishments and a collection of some of the most unique dining experiences on earth. Villain Walk will offer a sprawling, all encompassing theme and a collection of entertainment offerings both families and adults without kids can enjoy and come back to time and time again. It promises to be the most unique and well themed shopping/dining complex in the world when all is said and done.
Backstory
Think of Villain Walk as something akin to Toon Town from Roger Rabbit. At night when the villains aren't at their jobs scarring visitors in the parks, they retire to Villain Walk. This plot of land was set aside by Universal Studios founder Carl Lamille in respect to Count Dracula who owns the massive castle that the opening side of Villain Walk is established around. This deal between Lamille and Dracula will serve as the driving force for the backstory.
The focus is on the individual attractions and locations, but just know that Villain Walk acts as a home base for all the Universal baddies and a safe haven from the heroes. Here the villains are allowed to run rampart, and guests are allowed to venture right into the thick of things!
note: In my final plans, "Amity Beach Fish and Chips" replaced "Fast and Furious" in the same location on the map...
The complex is broken up into three main districts, "Castle", "Forest", and "Downtown". The castle makes up the opening section of Villain Walk and plays host to Dracula, Young Frankenstein, and Dulock. Off the side of the castle is a forest area that features Bates Motel, The Grinch, and Snidley Whiplash.
The main downtown distrct features Biff's Casino, the Decepticon Lazer Base, the Minions Superstore, and other offerings. The massive black and red stripped tents of Freddy's Cirque Nightmare will be central to Villain Walk and will act as a transitioning point between the three districts.
Castle Dracula
This sprawling complex features a luxury hotel, a five star fine dining establishment, and lots of secrets! Castle Dracula is the most exclusive dining experience in VillainWalk and houses 50 suites for some of the most atmospheric and all encompassing hotel offerings in the Florida area. During the day when the master of ceremonies is fast asleep, commoners can take a tour of Dracula's grounds and see the exquisite detail that's packed to the brim with props and memorabilia from the vampire king's long Hollywood legacy.
Young Frankenstein
Also within the opening castle area of Villain Walk is a large building with a Windmill exterior that hosts a dinner show version of the critically acclaimed Young Frankenstein musical. This goofy offering should be a good alternative to Dracula's more upscale vibe.
Dulock
Set off to the side of Dracula's Castle is a smaller castle that's home to Shrek's head villain Lord Farquad. Dulock is a straight up parody of Chuck E. Cheese and is Villain Walk's resident pizza parlor. Guests can engage in medevil and fairy tale themed arcade games and an AA review show in which Farquad forces various fairy tale creatures including Pinocchio, Gingy, and the Big Bad Wolf to partake in. Naturally, Disney parody sight gags can be found in every corner of this establishment.
Bates Motel
In a twisted dining experience that acts as a bit of a mirror image to the 50's Primetime Cafe, Bates Motel offers 12 highly themed room where diners can check in...but they don't always check out!
Throughout the course of their meal, guests will get a visit from "Mother" herself, along with the striking violin score made famous by the shower scene. Each room is furnished to look straight out of the 1950s and the beds are fashioned into tables using classic TV dinner trays to make for an incredibly unique environment to dine in. Of course the twist to every Bates Motel meal is the suspense of not knowing exactly when "Mother" will pay guests a visit!
Denham's Place
While Carl Denham isn't exactly a villain in the context of the iconic King Kong story, it's his actions that lead to the giant ape meeting his tragic fate. This leads to Carl Denham being a tragic anti-hero within the scum of Villain Walk. Straight out of the original film's direct sequel "Son of Kong", Denham now manages a bar which plays hosts to photographs and artifacts collected during Denham's travels as a movie director. This establishment will be directly tied into the new Kong attraction in Islands of Adventure.
T Rex Kingdom and MargaritaVille
One of the most popular restaurants in the old CityWalk will get a Jurassic face lift when the world famous T-Rex moves in as a permanent resident. Based on the climatic location from "Jurassic World", T-Rex Kingdom finds diners enjoying their Cheeseburgers in Paradise while partaking in great views of an impressive AA T-Rex behind glass in a manmade habitat. This will serve as yet another unique and one-of-a-kind dining experience from within Villain Walk.
The Grinch's Christmas Every Day
The Grinch's heart might have grown ten sizes and his appreciation for the holiday season gone up during his famous story...but that doesn't mean the green scoundrel isn't above making a quick buck off the holiday! Because the Whos are always in preperation for the next Christmas, there's always a stockpile of holiday merchandise that the Grinch has access too and is willing to sell to guests at a low, low price! Come on down to one of the only Christmas stores in Orlando open year round and shop for both Dr. Seuss and more classical holiday ornments, decorations, gifts, and more!
Snidley's Steakhouse
There's always room in Universal Villain-Walk for the original "mustache twirling bad guy". Snidely Whiplash owns a steakhouse themed to a Canadian hunting lodge which is actually a very obvious "secret" hideout. Snidley's is located past the Bates Motel within the forest section of Villain Walk.
