Anybody hear about Rose Red?
Yep. For those who are unaware, it takes place in the story of Snow White, after the famous scene where Snow White eats the poisoned apple. In this version however, the news travels to her less famous sister; who you can easily guess because it's in the main title; Red Rose, and now she and the Seven Dwarves must find a way to break the curse and save Snow White.

Since I don't have anything else to work on right now, I figured I would share my project veto from last round, which I was pretty proud of. I may even go into more depth and do a full scale write up of it, but here is what I submitted, copied straight from the PM:

Terrors of America will be a brand new, state of the art 3 floor dark ride taking over the area where Diamond Horseshow and Liberty Tree Tavern are.

This attraction will focus on many myths and legends of Colonial Ameica, such as the Headless Horseman, Bloody Mary, and Salem witches, from the point of view of a 12 year old kid named George (does the name ring a bell? ;)) who is having a particularly bad dream.

The queue consists of walking through his house (and giving clues about the story of the ride, such as a sleeping George AA in his room) and eventually up to his bedroom at night, where we enter our vehicles, a horse drawn buggy that has 4 rows of 4, which eliminates the needs of this being another Omnimover.

We then go through 6 scenes, each in varying places, such as in the hallway of his house, where you hear "Bloody Mary" 3 times in a whisper behind you, and then the mirror shatters in from of you as you hear a scream.

Later on in the ride, we are in the woods totally alone; or so we think. Out of nowhere, The Headless Horseman comes storming towards us, and we barely escape.

images

The true showstopper is when we find ourselves in a factory that we can't remember ever seeing before. Suddenly, you hear the sound of gas pouring and a match strike; the factory is in flames. You then encounter a witch and the Horseman together, as the building is collapsing around you, the witch pushes you back with her magical powers, and we "fall" backwards out the window, but really are going down a slow descent with wind effects and screens on the side simulating that we are plummeting many feet to our impending death.

As you hear George's screams and the screams of guests surrounding you, you hear a farmiliar voice saying "George, George wake up!". George then wakes up for. The dream and we return to his bedroom, where we exit and let the next guests in.

^ Thats a really good idea (both the project and posting the PV in public)

Now that PVs can't be used anymore - it would be fun to see all the private PV projects

I did this one for Challenge 1, it was the only PV I did - I didn't win it, but I did enjoy it.

Project Veto 1 - No Longer A Launch Bay
20160113_171250-1_zpslx5w1pbf.jpg

In 2020, with all the exciting thrills of Star Wars Land and the whimsical entertainment in Toy Story Land, one of the last pieces of the renovation puzzle is Animation Courtyard, with the goal of designing a "people-eater" attraction to entice guests while at the same time helping park capacity.

An issue that becomes apparent with a park based on films is that it's tough to design attractions when the future relevance of films remain unknown, and therefore you run the risk of your attraction becoming outdated if you don't design one that can stand the test of time.

With "Walt Disney's Animation", both of the above goals are accomplished, as this slow moving omnimover attraction takes a look back at Walt Disney Productions through the eyes of Walt Disney himself, traveling through classic films he helped create (which already stood the test of time), and finishing with a look at Walt Disney Animation Studios in the present day to illustrate Walt's influence on animation throughout the years.

The attraction's queue will travel through the halls of Walt Disney Productions as they looked when Walt was alive, and then guests will board the omnimover to begin the journey through Walt Disney's films with narration provided by Julie Andrews.

The attraction will be divided into 13 individual film scenes that will rely on Audio Animatronics and physical sets to immerse guests into the worlds of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, and lastly a large-screen sneak peak at the newest Disney animated film in production; a scene that will constantly change to keep up present day cinema.

This was mine during the Animal Kingdom musical challenge

Finding Nemo the Musical is currently ruining the theming of DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom. The play is also dated, so why not replace it with a new more advanced play based on a newer dinosaur IP?
th

The Good Dinosaur may not have been a perfect movie, but the simple plot and possibility for some of the most interesting character designs in theater make this the perfect adaptation to replace Nemo. This musical will be bringing viewers on the incredible journey of the film using advanced puppets that would compare in scale and elegance to the puppets of The Lion King on Broadway.

And of course the most important part of any musical is the music. Along with the amazing film score, a team from the adapters of shows like Aladdin and the Beauty and the Beast will be brough together to write new songs for the play, aided by music legend and PIXAR favorite Randy Newman.

This is a concept I've been dreaming of for a long time and hope you enjoyed!

The Cave Drawings
Replacing Finding Nemo: The Musical in Winter 2018 The Cave Drawings will leave every guest in awe. The conversion would take so long because the entire exterior would be redone to resemble the entrance to a cave. Also, half of the original theater would turn into the queue, as this would be a constantly running show. In the show you follow the journey of a young mammoth who is separated from his pack and needs to find his way back. Along his journey he comes across many animals including saber tooth tigers and wooly rhinos. The special thing about the show is it would be projected onto the cave wall, and look like cave drawings from the ice age. The show will be 15 minutes with a 15 minute load/unload.

Here's the lone PV I submitted this season :)

Episode Eight Project Veto:
"True Life Adventures: A New Musical replacing Festival of the Lion King"

Between getting rid of Nemo or Lion King I went with Lion King simply because Nemo is the newer experience and that IP is sure to have a lot of traction once Finding Dory hits. The replacement show will be a unique musical that takes you behind the scenes of Disney's famous "True Life Adventures" documentary series, which set the stage for Adventureland and Animal Kingdom.

true_life_adventures_thumb.jpg

The two main characters will be real life husband and wife Alma and Alfred Millote who devoted months upon years of their life collecting footage for Walt Disney to use in his nature documentaries. In this show I want to explore what kind of a life that sort of job would entail, and in doing so I think it'd make for a fascinating character study on a couple of people who serve as little more than foot-notes in the overall fabric of Disney history.

The play will specifically conentrate on the making of some of the more iconic documentaries including Seal Island (the one that started it all!) The Living Desert, and The African Lion. These three production shoots will serve as the three acts of the 45 minute musical (each act is cut up into 15 minute chunks)

seal-island-disney.jpg

The play will use a combination of on stage animals, people in costume posing as animals, and pre-recorded footage of animals to fill out the visual portion. Most of the dynamic of the play comes directly from the interactions between Alfred and Alma.

The core of the play would be the actors playing the husband and wife interacting off of each other, and getting to see the inner-workings of a real world marriage from within the context of an extraordinary job. As the couple goes from shoot to shoot, the strain of missing out on the real world is just as prevalent in their minds as the beauty and wonder of what they're capturing on film. Think of this as a more mature and fact-based version of "The Wild Thornberries" and you'll get the idea of the tone of the play.

I think we better wait until after the winner reveal for that, as it might influence jury votes...
How would it influence jury votes? Unless someone in the final 4 had a PV and didn't use it, we already know who had PVs based on who used them...from a creative standpoint I'm more interested in just seeing all the projects and winning projects.

Maybe I hadn't notice, but did the rules of the Vetoes change as we went along, or at the start of the competition? o_O
As I'm seeing posts with more than 5 sentences, and 1 picture.
They did it seems...Liberty Square was 10 Sentences and 1 image...I don't know if there was ever one that allowed more than 1 image, but it looks like the rules altered for later PVs.

To answer everyone's questions, I'll release the winners and their concepts after the winner is revealed.

Also, for the last few Project Veto challenges, I wanted to give people some more freedom. Plus, the Project Vetoes have often been overlooked by many competitors, so I wanted to test if increasing the number of sentences would increase the number submissions. But, @tcool123, you said you saw PV submissions with more than 5 sentences, how's that possible if they're submitted in the Pm?:p
