Trip Report The Real Housewives of Disney-A Sept 2013 Cruise/WDW Trip Report

I guess I'll join the Girl's cruise crowd and start my trip report!

“Howdy Folks!” Welcome to another PartOfYourWorld trip report! This is my second attempt at writing a trip report, because I was about 4 days in when my Mac decided to not download something and my hard drive had to get wiped..well at least this was the only thing I lost really! I just had to start over again! Here is a little bit of info before we begin….

The When: Saturday September 7th-Sunday September 15th

The Where:7: POR Royal Room; 8-12: Disney Dream; 12-15: Wilderness Lodge

The characters: Mom and I along with 20+ of our WDWMagic friends! (Thanks to someone for the instagram pic!)

I had the most amazing time with the ladies on this cruise, and highly suggest it if you can go since it is now an annual thing! We made some lifelong friends here, and I can’t wait to get this trip report started! “Now then, hang on to them hats and glasses, cause this here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!”


Saturday September 7th-Arrival Day

We arrived at the airport for our flight, before anything though, some Dunkin was a must!

Before we knew it, it was time to board and we were ready to head to Orlando!

We had some nice seats right over the wing!

Another thing that was pretty cool was that it was a wi-fi enabled flight, and I was pretty excited to use flight tracker! Here we are flying over North Carolina.

Finally, after what seemed like forever we were in the sunshine state!

Our flight landing was pretty rough; it felt like the left side tires in the back had hit the ground first along with the front, then the right followed after. We definitely landed at an angle and it was a little scary! But we made it safe and sound after that and soon we found ourselves on the lovely monorail wannabe!

We had to wait a good 30 minutes for our luggage, it took awhile for the bags to come off our flight. I know we should make use of the luggage service for DME, but I would rather take my own bags and have them right away then wait for possibly 3 hours until you get your bags in your room.

Once we got our luggage we headed straight to DME where we were able to use our magicbands that we got for this stay! It was super easy and great because you didn’t have to fumble with the paperwork!

We didn’t have to wait long at all for a bus, there was one already outside waiting! And look at this sign…we’ll be headed that way tomorrow!

We didn’t end up with the regular DME bus, but rather a Water Parks one!

Finally, the heaven’s gates opened and…oh wait it’s just the gates to Walt Disney World no big deal or anything

We were the last drop-off on DME (figures usually we’re always one of the first) but we were finally here at Port Orleans Riverside (my favorite moderate resort!-next to POFQ)

Check-in was a breeze and we were soon on our way to our Royal Room!

We were in the beautiful Oak Manor section.

Wednesday September 11th-A Day at Sea

We woke up to find the debarkation video on our TV It was very sad knowing that tomorrow we were leaving, but we still had the whole day ahead of us! We had Palo brunch today at 11 so we went up to Cabanas to have a small breakfast. That hash brown and bacon were so stinkin good.

Looks like Mom had the same thing as me!

We meandered down to the lobby to see what was going on. I seriously cannot get enough of this chandelier.

The Princesses were out!

We went and hung out in the shops a little bit. Love the light fixtures in here.

Seriously, this is so true. Slept really good on the Dream!

We saw Jess and Stephanie waiting up on Deck 4! They were already ready for Palo Brunch!

We went to go get changed for Palo and on the way we passed by Cinderella. She waved!

We headed up to Palo for brunch! Joining Mom and I today would be Jess, Stephanie and Joanna! We were supposed to have two others join, but they had to bow out. This was our seat!

Next up we all had this tomato soup, which gave the one from Enchanted Garden a run for it’s money!

Mom and I shared a Margarita pizza. It was really really good.

For the next course was Chicken Parm. OMG NOM NOM NOM. It was SO GOOD.

Last but not least was the dessert spread. Mom and I helped ourselves to one of a lot of things.

We headed back to our stateroom to change. Our bed was done up so nicely.

We checked out where we were hanging out at sea, and it turns out we were right near Castaway moving slowly back towards Port Canaveral.

We headed downstairs because we wanted to meet Max and Goofy! It’s pretty rare you see them together in the parks! While we were waiting I was fascinated with the elevator.

We saw that Chip and Dale were going to be out soon and headed that way so we were one of the first to meet them. They walked right by us!

I told Chip and Dale that they were both my favorites and Chip just couldn’t get enough of me. He kept kissing my hand. He loved me!

Next up we all had a mixology class in PINK at 3pm! We were so excited! Uh oh…here was the bartender from the night before…

We would be mixing 4 drinks here today, first up was Bicardi 21? I think? Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Here’s the mixing team!

After mixology was over, some of us had a celebratory shot for Sherry’s birthday!!! It tasted a little caramelly it was pretty good.

We met everyone else on the stairs in the lobby, we took a picture of our whole group together with our wonderful cruise ears! Wish I had a picture to put here, but we did buy the picture that they took! See @sweetpee_1993's trip report I think she posted it there! (I haven't read it yet but I've heard of it! )

We got ready for dinner, and came back down to meet Goofy in his formal wear!

Tonight’s show was Believe in the Walt Disney Theatre..couldn’t believe this was our last night on board.

After the show, we saw that the Captain was giving autographs. We jumped in line to meet him! He was so nice! It was great to see Captain Guus again!

We had a lot of time before dinner and there was a wicked sunset going on and we went out to catch it!

We went to our stateroom to drop off our things we had signed.

Dinner tonight was again in Animator’s Palate except no pirate night tonight!

We gave presents to Tammy and Kelly for all the hard work they did answering our cruise questions and planning the trip!

Crush came over to talk to us!

Kelly talked to crush for us telling him there was 27 ladies in our party…his eyes got really big!

He was trying to flirt with all of us!

I ordered two soups for tonight, the first was from the first night

Tonight I had some steak like dish…this was my favorite dish of the cruise.

It was dessert time! I had some raspberry cheesecake I think? Sorry I’m awful with remembering what we had and I didn’t write it down.

We came out just in time to catch the See Ya Real Soon show and we got our last minute pictures over at Shutters before they closed.

We hung around in the lobby to soak it all in.

We met Jess and headed up on deck to take pictures one last time and spend some peaceful time up on deck.

We knew we were pretty close to shore because we could see a number of lights from the boat, it was pretty cool. We went to stick our toes in the adult pool just to say we went in!

It was getting late and we had an early day tomorrow….it was our last night on board, but it was a good one. Tomorrow we would be walking off the ship early.

Don't worry it isn't over yet we still have 3 and a half days in WDW to spend!!!

Oh, those picture of Palo brunch look amazing! I'll have a hard time deciding between that and Remy for the next time. And I'm glad you remembered what all the drinks were called in Mixology - the only one I knew was the mojito that my group made.

OMG it was!!! Maybe try Palo since you already did Remy? How was Remy? Not sure how my tastebuds would like it; but I would be open to try it next time on a 4 day cruise. I couldn't rememeber the pink one (I give credit to Siobhan for that one I read her trip report before I posted this day! And she had it in there)

Thursday September 12th-Debarkation Day and WDW!

We got up early around 6, made sure we had everything packed, and down to the lobby we went! They were already letting people off the ship at about 7 o clock. We took one last look around at the beautiful lobby, and off we went. Couldn’t believe just like that it was all over. But at least we had a few days in Walt Disney World too look forward too!

We went through customs, and off to the Walt Disney World transfers. We got the option of taking a van vs. a bus and of course we took the van because we would get to our resort faster. We left about 10 minutes later and was saying good-bye to the beautiful Disney Dream…not sure when I’ll be back on a Disney Cruise ship, but I know that certainly wasn’t the last time!

We dropped off a few others that were in our van and before we knew it we were pulling up to this awesome resort:

This was our first time staying at the Wilderness Lodge!!!!

Even though we were there really early, our room was already ready! 6100!!!

It was a great room, because it was a corner so we only had one neighbor, and when you got out of the elevators you took a left and it was the first room right there! We were so close to the lobby it was awesome!

Since it was still early, we had plenty of time for some breakfast! Taking beautiful pictures along the way!

This is definitely one of my favorite lobbies in all of Walt Disney World.

This little pathway that goes above the entrance on the way down is seriously one of my favorite parts!

Breakfast this morning was in Roaring Forks!

Bananas Foster Mickey waffles and Strawberry Mickey waffles!

Our first destination for the day was Downtown Disney to pick up my ornament! And I had hopes of meeting Marty Skylar…I had his book with me because he was doing an autograph signing.

You can see our room from the bus path! It’s the one top left! How cool is that?

It took a little while for the DtD bus to come, and when it finally did it took a good 30 more minutes to get there because we had to stop at the Grand Floridian and then stop at Typhoon Lagoon. Bummer. We finally got to DtD and there was a crazy huge line to meet Marty Skylar…they had a standby you could wait in, but you had to BUY the book there, so basically you would be paying like $30 bucks to get his autograph when I bought the book for half the price on Amazon…and I don’t remember them announcing anywhere that you had to purchase the book there, personally I think that’s just ridiculous. Oh well, we moved on and picked up my beautiful ornament! Can’t wait to put it on our tree this year!!!!! We got an awesome Christmas tree the day after Christmas last year and I can’t wait to put it up! Anyways, we went right back to the bus stop to head back to Wilderness Lodge. That whole trip just to pick up that ornament took like an hour, plus the the ride back after picking up over at West Side. Sheesh.

We headed back up to the room to drop off the ornament before heading to EPCOT. I can’t believe there’s even detail in the elevator!

Enough of that! Let’s head to the parks! We were heading over to EPCOT, so we made our way over to the boat dock to the Magic Kingdom naturally.

What a beautiful day

First up was my first fastpass+ of the trip! Test Track! Here is my awesomely designed car! Always has to be efficient!

While we were over at Test Track we saw this film crew readying cameras and some actors…so we went to check out what was going on. One of the guys on the crew came over to talk to us and turns out they were filming an ad they would air in Brazil…….

We meandered over to the Disney Visa card holder surprise character meet and greet over in Innoventions. I think it’s really cool that we get to do this and get a free picture! They wouldn’t tell us who was behind the curtains, but I heard the family come out before us and say Goofy was in there! The girl turns to us and says, it might not be Goofy because they change randomly! I thought for sure Goofy was still going to be in there when I moved the curtain….but OMG it was Mickey Mouse and Pluto! I was so surprised! It wasn’t like a regular meet and greet either, they actually took time to spend with you! Pluto was asking us to pet him it was really cute! Sorry I don’t have any pictures with my own camera! But it was a great time and it’s a nice free souvenir for us Disney credit card holders!

We headed over to use our next fastpass+ reservation over at Spaceship Earth! (not that we needed one) It was really cool to use the magicbands, it was just so quick and easy!

So I tried to get this picture…didn’t come out, but I still thought it looked pretty cool.

Right after we got out of SSE it started to drizzle. We started making our way over to the land pavilion and just as we approached it started to pour! We headed inside in hopes that it would be over by the time we were done here.

We spotted Darolyn, Ashley, and Terryn leaving!

Living with the Land was up next on the agenda.

We came out to find that it was still raining pretty hard, so I found myself an outlet and parked myself on the floor so I could charge my phone, relax, and wait out the rain. It was nice and relaxing sitting in the land just people watching while my phone charged. After a little while, we made our way over to Mexico so we would have time to walk around World Showcase before our dinner at LeCellier.

Who did we run into in Mexico? Well the Jess’! When would the three Jess’ ever be in Mexico again? We had to document this.

We stayed with Jess and Stephanie and continued our way around World Showcase because we had our ressies with them so we were going to the same place! Our next stop was Norway and the Maelstrom!

We stopped in America next to see the Voices of Liberty, which I don’t think I’ve ever stopped to see…if I ever did it has definitely been awhile (besides the Candlelight Processional last year, etc.)
