The Tip Top Club @ the Tower of Terror

Using the space elevator technology of Space 220 in Epcot, but now an old 1920s elevator, guests rise to the 13th floor above the Hollywood Tower Hotel, to windows that produce a storm, the same one on that fateful night in 1939.

Doors open at 5pm and around 8pm, guests feel a vibration as if the hotel has been struck, from 8-midnight, the waiters and waitresses change their tones from upbeat to 'spooky' to keep up with the haunted vibe

This scenic bar at the Contemporary replaces Outer Rim and provides a complement to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto by focusing on 60's and 70's era New Tomorrowland. The clean white and blue accented bar provides a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of the Contemporary while still having the kinetic feel of a World On The Move by featuring the rollercoaster restaurant concept with a Monorail twist!
1608237692729.png

Feast on New American bar food like pulled pork nachos and Spanish style tapas and wet your whistle with a variety of "Concoct it yourself" cocktails with pipettes to experiment to your liking. All signature cocktails come in a souvenir beaker or flask, with the house special being the four people portioned Mighty Microscope Bowl

If prompts were years, this game would be old enough to drink! I think we should all go out to celebrate!

Your task today is to…

Propose a new Bar for any Disney or Universal Hotel

Try to theme is well. Whether it is a simpler theme or a more complex one like Trader Sam's, themes are important to everything at Disney! And specialty drinks are always nice. Though snack are just as nice if you're not a drunken fool like me, @pix, or @D Hulk

Some reminders:
-You can keep it simple! You don’t have to make a full blown 10 page document on the ride. You can do a couple sentences and/or a few pictures. Whatever you feel comfortable with

-Don’t be scared to share your ideas! Every idea is a good idea

-Have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

Now get to thinkin’!
I confess I don't exactly have a fancy intro for this one, just a simple idea.

Opening up at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is The Grove, a new bar inspired by the assortment of citrus fruits that grow in the Sunshine State. Themed as a private hideaway for the Florida elite to enjoy a summer day with a cool drink, the bar is designed with the Art Nouveau aesthetics that had been popular around the turn of the 20th century. Plush chairs offer a comfy spot to sit, as warm greens and golds give the bar the atmosphere of a treasure trove amid the Florida palm trees. Of course, no bar is complete with its drinks and The Grove has plenty. There are beers on tap along with a selection of wines, spirits, and liqueuers, but it is the cocktails that offer something special. As befitting Edwardian millionaires taking advantage of Florida's nature, all of the cocktails are based around citrus fruits. Such options include The Last Word (a gin and lime mix with Chartreuse and maraschino liqueur), the Sidecar (cognac, triple sec, and lemon juice), and Buck's Fizz (orange juice and champagne). So, take a moment to relax and delight in the realms of the Upper Class, as you lounge back in The Grove.

On Grand Avenue at Disney Hollywood Studios, one of the most iconic television bars comes to life. The setting of Cheers is actually a real location in Boston, though in the park, we're recreating TV's incarnation. Settle in a homely space where everyone knows your name, and the drinks are divine, the food is homemade, and the company is cheery.

This idea gets suggested a lot and that is purely because it is an amazing idea! they'd make so much money from me alone if they made this lol

The retro futurism old-new-Tomorrowland aesthetic is fantastic! I could see this being the new Trader Sam's easily. It might clash slightly with the art deco focus they've been moving towards with the Contemporary, but it still fits and would add a great complementary angle to the resort. I love the rollercoaster part.

I confess I don't exactly have a fancy intro for this one, just a simple idea.

Theming something in the Grand Floridian to Florida rather than to an animated movie about France? Already better than real life Disney lol. Sounds really low key and simple but in a very elegant way. The drinks you have are particularly nice. I'm more of a vodka in mio fruit punch kind of guy, but throwing some champagne and cognac into the mix would be very nice.

I love Cheers! I actually got to visit the "real" cheers in Boston. Though that was before I drank ironically so a Root Beer and a tasty burger was all I had haha. With the real one closing, a theme park recreation is long overdue. Rights issue might be difficult since it was NBC (Universal might have been a better choice of park). But part of the fun of The Proposals format is that we can go a bit more blue sky and not be as worried about realism. Just having some fun with it. And a Cheers Bar would be absolutely fantastic for a theme park!

Oh, man. Music is such a huge topic that you could go a myriad of ways with it when it comes to theme parks. Well, considering Aerosmith is present at Disney's Hollywood Studios, I'll draw from another band for this. Namely, one of the most iconic bands in music history: The Beatles. This will be a 3D show inspired by their work in general, but also rooted in one of their most iconic albums.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

81ZVwENsT-L._SL1200_.jpg

In the dingy Maxwell Theatre, a revolution is brewing. The Blue Meanies are draining life from Pepperland, but one band seeks to stem the tide with the power of music: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. With your Kaleidoscope Eyes (3D glasses), you will watch as the band (whose four members are based on the Beatles' appearance from the cover art for the album) present a mesmerizing vaudeville performance featuring some of the fabulous music of the Beatles set to delightful psychedelic visuals. Of course, the Blue Meanies won't stand for this and will try to shut down this show, but if we show that "All You Need is Love", then the power of positivity and hope might just shine through.

Let’s take this opportunity to resurrect what was by all accounts one of the greatest non-DisneyVersal dark rides ever created...the sadly short-lived Nights in White Satin at Hard Rock Park. It perfectly synthesizes the trippy, abstract style of Moody Blues into a singularly out-there ridethrough!

Beatles were definitely my pick. Their music lends itself so well to a really trippy and visually interesting experience! This sounds like an amazing and really fun experience that fully takes advantage of the theme!

Thank you for introducing me to that awesome ride! Absolutely love it! Definitely does a great job of feeling like a super trippy rid through music video! Adding in a bit of modern tech and it could be brought to a whole new level!

Your task today is to…

Propose a way to Integrate Mandalorian into any Disney Park (Or any space western themed thing if Mando ain't your thing)

Baby Yoda is the new most popular character in the world and Mando has 3 spin offs announced and on the way. It is HUGE! Start slow with a new planet/mission in Star Tours - probably Nevarro since that was the most fleshed out planet aside from Tatooine in the show, but either encountering any combo of the Razor Crest, Slave 1, Dark Troopers, etc before jettisoning off to the next scene would be fun!

Test Track is fun and a must go, but the new theme is really lacking the charm of the original. That's why for refurb, the new test track will be going from the plain looking digital world to the retro inspired city of the future! Complete with nods to futureworld's past.

Ok so I also wanted to change Tomorrowland because I too was also massively dissapointed in it. Here's the idea I came up with a friend. I came up with this plot after seeing both cuts of the movie as well as researching the arg made for the movie. Basically injecting elements of each as well as original ideas based on the parks.
Once upon a time there was this girl named Casey, Casey is a shy quiet girl who is made fun of for staying after classes working on this rocket ship that never seems to work. One day her grandfather passes away of old age and she's left with a box full of his old things, these include memorabilia from the worlds fair and a certain pin. Casey finds the pin, picks it up and finds herself in tomorrowland. The pins battery dies (rip) and she gets teleported back to where she was. She decides to keep the pin and its powers a secret. The next day she goes to school and continues work on her rocket ship, she gets the idea to insert the pin into the rocket ship, she goes in with the teacher who always helped her work on it and the rocket ship works. all the other kids watch as it flies into space straight into tomorrowland.
So now they're in tomorrowland, tomorrowland is bustling full of people who welcome them and recognize Casey from when she picked up the pin. They meet Frank, a local of tomorrowland and one of her grandfather's old students. Frank notes how Casey was the first person in years that not only found a pin, but also knew what to do with it after it's "juice" went out. He gives Casey a holographic package full of things that she needs to know the history of tomorrowland and how the inventions work. They take a tour through the city and see many alien creatures, fun inventions, etc before coming across a mysterious and sort of creepy looking dark boarded up place with wires everywhere. Frank describes it as headquarters but notes nothing more before moving on.
Back to Casey's home, her dad notes shes been acting weird and they have a nice pure talk about the grandfather and his life. She goes into her room and inserts the tape left by Frank. There's the intro about the founders, Walt Disney's involvement, etc. But then comes on Dreamfinders, a show that was supposed to air but never did (based on the real Dreamfinders show). Casey sees a bright cheery host introduce some inventions, some which can be found in any household while others never went beyond tomorrowland. It's all happy and she eats it all up until the camera silently pans over 4 small tubes. The bright cheery host suddenly says "Ever wanted a better body, a healthier body? One that can last forever? Immortality? We figured out the formula to living forever." he gives the potion to a hostess before it cuts. Casey's face drops, she's left with one question: what happened with the formula to immortality and is this why headquarters is boarded up?
Next day Casey is angry, she drags her teacher into the rocket ship and demands Timekeeper for answers. He shows them the time machine. He shows with the time machine what happened: long ago he showed the ruler of tomorrowland the time machine, he was so impressed that he went on it every day going through every historical event. One day the ruler went too far, he saw something he shouldn't have and became mortified. He created a potion of immortality to keep whatever that event was to never happen. But it didn't work, it created a raging beast that lurks somewhere in the corners of tomorrowland. The owner locked up headquarters to hide his mistakes. Casey decides to storm to headquarters and the teacher and Frank chase after her.
So then they meet the ruler of tomorrowland: the host she saw on the tv, he still looks the same. She asks him if it was the immortality potion, he shakes his head no. He points to a picture, its a building being demolished. This is horizons. He tells them with the time machine he saw horizons get demolished. Casey asks what about a building being demolished caused him to create the formula. That's when he shows her, the tomorrowland they went to is just the outer one, the real one has been in ruin for years, tomorrowland is controlled by disney. Whatever disney does to tomorrowland and epcot happens to this tomorrowland, there's nothing they can do to stop it. Nix (the ruler) tried to, but he ended up causing his hostess to become a giant alien that then caused a mysterious new ride to open in disney's tomorrowland: alien encounter. Horizons demolition meant that the future it portrayed will never happen to earth. Casey says "Well why cant you just show anybody this is happening". The thought of telling others its happening horrifies Nix as hes not sure how others will take it. Thats when the alien appears, they run from it. Casey then gets a brilliant idea: if disney can affect tomorrowland and visa versa then she can make the alien something friendlier, something closer to the hostess it used to be. So she tricks Nix to go into the time machine and shows him that while the future horizons predicted isnt entirely true, the future we got is wonderful and shows him how many people are helping others around the world. He gets a boost of hope that he hasn't had in years this boost of hope goes to the alien and transforms her into figment. Suddenly it makes sense to both nix and the new figment why they haven't aged, let alone died. They are dreamfinder and figment and they need to help the world.
So all of the characters go on Dreamfinders flying machine to deliver pins all around the world and collect dreams and stuff the end.

The Mandalorian really has been such a great addition to Star Wars, with all the world-building and memorable characters that it has introduced. I'm not sure if I'd see a main ride really focused on Din Djarin, but Cara Dune might be a good character to base a ride around.

Showdown at Valorin Pass

Remnants of the Galactic Empire have taken hold of a fortress in Valorin Pass, and Marshal Cara Dune is in need of a posse to stop them. Join the crew and climb into a landspeeder, armed with a blaster as you go toe to toe with Stormtroopers in this shooter dark ride adventure.

  • I agree that the new Test track could use a bit of work to make it stand out. That setting would be great and would make it easy to add some old school Epcot vibes too
  • Ya know what, that's just crazy enough to work. But ONLY if it is done Roger Rabbit style with a live action animation hybrid and ends with unleashing a bunch of video game characters into the real world like Pixels but not terrible.
  • Space Pavilion. A classic concept. Always a strong idea.
  • Disney's Adventure Park. Simple and clean. I like it.
  • SMRT 2 is great. I picture half his dialogue being sorrow and mourning his father. Tach kids the reality of death! Put it right next to a remake of Making of Me to bring the experience full circle! :P
  • Pretty good update to Tomorrowland. Really don't remember much about the original beyond Clooney dating a child robot or something. Your version sounds much better lol
  • That would really be the best of both worlds!
The Mandalorian really has been such a great addition to Star Wars, with all the world-building and memorable characters that it has introduced. I'm not sure if I'd see a main ride really focused on Din Djarin, but Cara Dune might be a good character to base a ride around.

Showdown at Valorin Pass

il_570xN.2062620938_bjjg.jpg

Remnants of the Galactic Empire have taken hold of a fortress in Valorin Pass, and Marshal Cara Dune is in need of a posse to stop them. Join the crew and climb into a landspeeder, armed with a blaster as you go toe to toe with Stormtroopers in this shooter dark ride adventure.
This would just be so cool! And like a lot of the Mandalorian's greatest strengths, this uses these side characters to tell and original story that feels both unique and quintessentiall star wars. Fantastic pitch for a ride!

Day 24

24. The number of hours in a day. I can work with that.

Your task today is to…

Propose a new 24 Hour Event for a Theme Park!

There's been a couple of 24 hour events at Disney before. They're supposed to be pretty fun, but usually not much more to them than some extra snacks and low crowds. But sometimes they do special stuff like projecting Mike Wazowski on Spaceship Earth. Try to find some way or theme or event that can make this into a truly unforgettable experience!

24 Hour game athon

With a new diary of a wimpy kid movie coming out, what's a better way to advertise it but with Greg Heffley's favorite activity: Video Games! Guests are free to enter designated areas to beat various video game challanges, from easy stuff to speed runs! The difficulty is selected by the guest's rank on their magic band. Once beating all 23, guests are tasked with the final challange, beat a level of Greg's favorite game: Twisted Wizard. Are you ready for the challenge?

Oh, interesting. I've never tried out pitching a 24 hour event before (and I confess I'm a bit unfamiliar with Disney's previous events), but I'll try something.

Disney's Birthday Bonanza!

1614339_1280x720-800x400.jpg

Back in 1923, the Walt Disney company first opened their doors on October 16th. Now, that day will play host to a 24-hour celebration of all things Disney at the Magic Kingdom! Take part in special Disney-inspired games and challenges, scattered throughout the park, with the chance to win some exclusive prizes! Take part in Meet and Greets featuring some of Disney's lesser-used characters, such as Basil of Baker Street or Kuzco! Finally, witness some wonderful night-time entertainment, such as a Powerline dance party over in Tomorrowland or a projection show at Cinderella Castle that pays tribute to the man himself: Walt Disney.

Your task today is to…

Propose a new ride using the Slot Car Ride system from Test Track and Radiator Springs Racers

There's been a few rodes using this system and so far everything that has used it has been a slam dunk. Let's try to find a way to use it for something bold, new, and exciting!

Some reminders:
-You can keep it simple! You don’t have to make a full blown 10 page document on the ride. You can do a couple sentences and/or a few pictures. Whatever you feel comfortable with

-Don’t be scared to share your ideas! Every idea is a good idea
