So, there are plenty of memorable vehicles and driving scenes that could inspire a slot car dark ride. This time, though, I'll be pulling some inspiration from the world of anime for this ride.

Speed Racer

It's race day at the Fortuna Auto 500, and Speed Racer has discovered a dirty secret: vicious gangster Cruncher Block is planning on fixing the race, using arrogant racer Snake Oiler as his muscle on the road! Speed is going to need some help to win this race and expose their cheating ways, so hop behind the wheel of a race car specially designed by Pops and join Team Racer in this daring operation. There's dangerous work to do, but you can bet your life that Speed Racer will see you through!

24 Hour game athon​

With a new diary of a wimpy kid movie coming out, what's a better way to advertise it but with Greg Heffley's favorite activity: Video Games! Guests are free to enter designated areas to beat various video game challanges, from easy stuff to speed runs! The difficulty is selected by the guest's rank on their magic band. Once beating all 23, guests are tasked with the final challange, beat a level of Greg's favorite game: Twisted Wizard. Are you ready for the challenge?

I would love a big game night like this! I feel like this would work better at one of th hotels though since this doesn't do much to take advantage of being in a theme park, this sounds like a super fun idea!

Oh, interesting. I've never tried out pitching a 24 hour event before (and I confess I'm a bit unfamiliar with Disney's previous events), but I'll try something.

Disney's Birthday Bonanza!

Back in 1923, the Walt Disney company first opened their doors on October 16th. Now, that day will play host to a 24-hour celebration of all things Disney at the Magic Kingdom! Take part in special Disney-inspired games and challenges, scattered throughout the park, with the chance to win some exclusive prizes! Take part in Meet and Greets featuring some of Disney's lesser-used characters, such as Basil of Baker Street or Kuzco! Finally, witness some wonderful night-time entertainment, such as a Powerline dance party over in Tomorrowland or a projection show at Cinderella Castle that pays tribute to the man himself: Walt Disney.

These kinds of events are perfect for more obscure charcters! And the birthday theme is a really simple, yet clever one. I can see this being a really great and fun celebration!

While this would never happen due to licensing, etc - a Batmobile attraction using this slot car tech would be amazing!

While theming wouldn't be as good at Six Flags, I could definitely see them doing something like this! The Batmobile would be such a great fit for the thrill ride and dark ride hybrid this ride system works best as.

Darkwing Duck has really proven the test of time to still be popular and between the recent story arc on Ducktales and the upcoming Disney+ series, the time is perfect for a Darkwing ride! Just like Space's Batman idea, a super hero theme is perfect for this ride system!

So, there are plenty of memorable vehicles and driving scenes that could inspire a slot car dark ride. This time, though, I'll be pulling some inspiration from the world of anime for this ride.

A new Food Festival at Islands of Adventure. Sliders and other Bar & Grill type apps in Super Hero Island, Breakfast food and coffees in Toon Lagoon (Good food to eat while reading the Sunday paper in the morning), fruit and tropical food from Jurassic Park, English Snacks and usual Potter themed treat already in the park from Wizarding World, Fusion Cuisine from various Asian and European Countries in Lost Continent, and really crazy colorful desserts in Seuss Landing.​

So, like a lot of folks here, I don't think a simple fix will save Pixar Pier. It fell victim to that weird in-between state that has caught California Adventure, when it started out as trying to be all about California (in this case, it used to be part of Paradise Gardens and was supposed to be akin to boardwalk parks like Santa Monica Pier) but got caught in the gears of park reinvention through just slapping IPs in. A simple fix won't work. You need to start from the ground up. So, let's go back to my Disney's Vacation Adventure idea.

I looked at the lands through the lens of different vacation idea: road trips (Cars Land), wilderness retreats (Grizzly Peak), those sorts of things. Well, the idea of an old-fashioned amusement park is covered well enough by Paradise Gardens Park, so the boardwalk approach just feels like retreading. Well, why not lean into a different vacation idea for this new Pixar-inspired land: a seaside town playing host to a cruise ship?

Pixar Port

Get ready to set sail for fun, as your favorite Pixar characters have pulled into port for a day of play and excitement! This seaside town is playing host to all kinds of delightful adventures, from fun carnival games hosted by the Toy Story crew to a thrilling superhero adventure with the Incredibles. Of course, waiting at the dock is the luxurious S. S. Luxo Jr. , an exploratory play space themed to a luxury cruise ship that's filled with Pixar references from stem to stern!

Pixar pier is an interesting concept with horrific execution and the land itself has been plagued with issues from day 1. That's why I think a do over with a proper theme is worth visiting, while still bringing the Pixar touch and what's a better setting than the colorful world of Inside Out? The emotional whirlwind will be placed in an indoor area themed to long term memory. Incredicoaster will once again be rethemed to become the train of thought during a hectic trip through Riley's mind. All the carnival games will be demolished and will be replaced by a new interactive experience based on the Dream Productions, where guests must help build new dreams for Riley, think Dreamfinder's School of Drama but higher tech. Jessie's Critter Carosuel will be moved to Toy Story Land and the interactive Pixar ball will be repainted to become a memory orb. Finally, the Pixar Pal Around will be renamed to the Memory Wheel, all the restaurants will be destroyed to make room for a new Inside Out dark ride, and Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff will be given a proper make over with a bronze statue of Bing Bong as a tribute to him rather than a strangely themed store.

The Depot

Coming to the Beach Club Resort is a new counter-service bar built in the form of a train station building. In the old days, travelers would take a train to get to the seaside, and while this does not function as a transport facility, it does however serves as a place for guests to refuel and top off. New England style comfort foods; such as American chop suey; are also prepared here.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Ocean Commotion ​

Nickelodeon's newest attraction, Ocean Commotion takes guests on a sort of playdate with SpongeBob and Patrick; with help from their other friends (Sandy; who created the remote control boats guest would ride in, Ms. Puff; who would teach SpongeBob and the guest a crash course in the boats, Mr. Krabs; who's here to promote business (originally he wanted the guests to pay for riding the boats, but then gets persuaded by SpongeBob to let the guests spend their money down at the Krusty Krab), and Squidward; who came to see SpongeBob fail within the first few wheel turns). The drive around would take guest from Sandy's Treedome Garage through Jellyfish Fields and Goo Lagoon, and downtown Bikini Bottom, unfortunately the boats get hijacked by none other than Plankton!.. with The Flying Dutchman?!?! SpongeBob and the gang must work to try and stop Plankton from stealing the secret formula and the Dutchman from taking the guests' souls as the hijacked boats run amok through the Chum Bucket, the Kelp Forest, and the Flying Dutchman's ship.
