Trip Report The Princesses Take On Disney!

We have returned from another magical, pixie dust filled trip to WDW! We accomplished A LOT considering the time of year we visited, including some new things!

If you didn't get a chance to read my PTR and would like to, you can find it here:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-princesses-return.908683/

And now, without further ado...

Day 1: Travel Day, 6/7/16

Being that we don't live together, we finished packing at our respective houses and then met at my parents' (which is right in the middle) to put things in our big, shared suitcase. We struggle every year to be under the weight requirement lol. Our airline has a 40 pound limit or else you have to pay an additional fee, so we take carry ons (as big as permitted) and stuff them full as well. Anyway, we got everything packed and weighed our suitcase to see where we stood... 48 pounds. Not even close. :hilarious: So we started unloading and putting things in our carry ons, deciding that some things could be left behind, etc. Finally we got it down to 39 pounds and were ready to go!

This was one of the things that had to stay behind. :( Everybody kept asking me who I would miss more: my boyfriend, Dylan, or Tink. The jury is still out on that one. ;)

Ready to roll!
IMG_2140.JPG

We had a 7:00pm flight out of Latrobe, PA so got on the road at 3:00pm. It takes just under 2 hours to get there from home and the airport only has one gate, making security a breeze. We stopped near the airport and grabbed dinner at Denny's.

We arrived at the airport at 6pm and had checked our bag, gone through security, and used the restroom all by 6:15pm. Gotta love it! Our flight actually took off at 6:54, so just a few minutes ahead of schedule which was nice.

Peace out PA!

IMG_2145.JPG

I sat next to this lady on the plane that I will absolutely never forget. I don't even know how to begin to describe her! She was probably in her 60's or 70's and was an absolute diva - LOVE IT. She talked to us the entire flight and we pretty much learned her life story lol. She has a house here in PA and another in FL. She was flying down for the week to attend her granddaughter's preschool graduation. Like I said, we literally talked about everything, but once she found out we were heading to Disney she shared that she worked as a CM for her first job in 1971. She alternated between playing Dopey and working concessions (sometimes in the same day). She went to college and worked as a nurse for 30 years. It's hard to describe here, but she was HILARIOUS and we quoted her throughout our trip lol. Just to give you an idea.. At one point the lady in front of us turned around and said, "Could you talk quieter?" We were honestly not talking loudly, and certainly not as loudly as the man behind us. But she looks at us and goes, "I know enough to not cause trouble on a plane, but I've done my service to this country and I don't have to listen to her!" And then after getting off the plane, she saw the lady bending over getting something out of her bag and she goes, "I oughta go over there and kick her right in the ***." :hilarious: She was something else. Sorry, that was more wordy than I anticipated!

Anyway, we landed at 8:46, also ahead of schedule! The flight was a little bumpy due to the storm, but nothing major! We headed right for my favorite thing at MCO...

I GET SO EXCITED ABOUT MAGICAL EXPRESS. :D
IMG_2146.JPG

We boarded immediately and pulled out right away at 9:20pm.
IMG_2149.JPG

Magical Express selfie! The excitement is evident!
IMG_2150.JPG

We stopped at Coronado Springs first, and then our stop, All Star Sports! We arrived at 10pm.

Last year our pin numbers weren't setup properly and we had major issues at the end of the week sorting it all out. So the first thing we did this year upon arrival was head straight to the front desk to make sure they got setup the right way. We talked with Rachel who was an absolutely magical first CM to interact with. I made the comment that she should be working as a princess because she just had the energy and silliness for it. The CM's really do make all the difference!

OMG thats so annoying! I hated that too! I also love how much you ate the French Onion soup. My Mom and I are obsessed with it...we talk about it all the time! haha

Glad I'm not alone! I often feel like I get irritated too easily with things like that, especially being a teacher.. But I was made to listen as a child and the kids in my classroom listen so it's just a lack of authority if you ask me lol.

I have no regrets about the amount of soup I ate haha. It's amazing!!

The humidity was ABSOLUTELY KILLER last week! But you ladies look wonderful and look like you handled it well. Enjoying your trip report so far!! I was so disappointed that you could only have the master's cupcake during lunch, I had no idea!! I was looking forward to it and turns out we couldnt have it. The rolls at Be Our Guest are AMAZING though!!! Your trip is awesome so far and I can't wait to read more

It was! Especially toward the end of the week. Monday was so hot we could barely stand to be in the park! I didn't realize the desserts differed either until last year I ran into the same issue at dinner! Thank you for your sweet compliments and for following along. :)

Wait a minute! You two are having waaaaay too much fun!!! :D Very good TR so far, and your pictures are great, too.

I thought it was hilarious that you brought a picture of your puppy, Tink, for Tinkerbell !!! :hilarious: I'm sure no one has done that at a Meet and Greet before.

There's no such thing as too much fun at Disney. ;) I have a slight obsession with my pup haha. She was really genuine in her reaction to it so I didn't feel like a weirdo, which was a bonus.

Thanks for following!

While waiting in line for HM, I had made us an additional FP+ to meet Cinderella and Rapunzel. Have I mentioned that I LOVE having the luxury of making these from my phone?

Rapunzel talked to us about her hair being so difficult to deal with in the rain and how heavy her braid gets when it's wet. She also said that one time Flynn tried to brush it with a rock.. It did not go as he had hoped. Rapunzel is one of my favorite meet and greets every trip.. I love how spunky she is!
MK_PFTHPURPLED1CHAR_20160610_7711930936.jpeg

Next up was the lady in blue! She commented on Heather's shirt and said that she could have Suzy and Perla make her a dress with our faces on it. :p She also said that she has to make clothes for the mice and that Gus's have to be a little bigger because he likes to eat. Me too, Gus.. Me too. She usually finds her mice friends in the pantry or the cookie jar.
MK_PFTHPURPLED2CHAR_20160610_7711932666.jpeg

After our royal meet and greet, we headed for Main Street. It was a little difficult to navigate because everything was roped off for the parade. Though I understand why they do what they do, it is extremely annoying having to walk completely out of your way with tired, aching feet. I would certainly not want the job of directing that traffic.
IMG_2278.JPG

We took advantage of the PhotoPass photographers because who doesn't love a good nighttime castle shot!?
MK_MSATHCLB_20160610_7711949092.jpeg

We started the tradition last year of buying balloons to float in our room for the week, so we made that purchase on our way out! We sat our balloons next to the photographer while we took pictures and she told us to grab them for a couple of shots. We were like... :bored: I have to include this picture because we laughed so much when we saw it. Check out Heather's hand. :hilarious: She was like, "I didn't know what to do with my hand! I fixed it after she took that picture!" As if we didn't feel awkward enough hahaha.
MK_MSATHCLB_20160610_7711949095.jpeg

This is a recreation of our favorite picture from last year's trip. It made the top 5 for me again this year. :) The colors of the castle remind me of a sunset!
MK_MSATHCLB_20160610_7711951634.jpeg

My favorite pixie. :inlove:
MK_MSMKTHOU_20160610_7711952582.jpeg

This is also a recreation from last year.. I don't like it as much as the other one. The lighting is weird. :(
IMG_2283.JPG

After our photo session, we decided to call it a night and get some much needed rest and relaxation! We left the park at 9pm and our bus pulled out about 15 minutes later.

8.31 miles walked
17,604 steps

No shame at all in a double BOG day! Last year on my mom's birthday we ate both lunch and dinner there :hungry:. Maybe next year you can pull off the trifecta ~ breakfast, lunch and dinner!

That would be awesome!!! Think I could talk them into dessert at breakfast? ;)

Yay! Was looking forward to this report! Loving it so far!

Thank you!! :)

I just caught up on your trip report, love it! You are making me super excited for my trips in a few weeks!

Thank you! :) Jealous that you're enjoying those pre-feelings!

Day 4: Hollywood Studios, 6/10/16

We were up bright and early, reading to take on Hollywood Studios! We left the resort at 8:50am and arrived right at 9am. We headed straight for Olaf because I was sure that his wait times would be out of control in no time. Spoiler alert: His wait times were actually really low all day long! I truly believe that people don't know you can meet him here!

We had a 10 minute wait before it was our turn for warm hugs! His meet and greet area is adorable!
STUDIO_CELEBRITYACHAR_20160610_7712094990.jpg

It didn't seem that he was able to sign and nobody else in line had autograph books out, so we put our photo mats back in the bag. Later in the week, we talked with a family in line who had also met him and he drew a picture of himself as his signature for them. I was really bummed! So just an FYI, apparently Olaf does sign autographs!

We left Olaf and headed for my favorite ride on property.. Rock n' Roller Coaster! It had a posted wait time of 45 minutes but we only waited 35.
STUDIO_ROCKNRCOASTERRIDE_20160610_7712149433.jpeg

We stopped and took advantage of a few PhotoPass photographers as we contemplated our next move.

Aren't we scary?

As we were walking along, we stumbled across the Citizens of Hollywood so stopped to enjoy their show for a few minutes. We encountered them for the first time two years ago and wanted to make sure we saw them again this year! The little "side shows" that Disney provides make days in the park so unique and special. These guys are hilarious.. If you've never seen them, be sure to take time out of your next trip to watch them!

After the show concluded, we made our way toward Starring Rolls for a snack! I had heard great things about this place leading up to our trip so figured we needed to give it a try! Though I must have forgotten to take a picture, we shared the Darth Vader cupcake and it was delicious! It was plenty for both of us and was a great use of a snack credit.

Next, we went to wait standby for The Great Movie Ride! It had a posted wait time of 30 minutes, but we boarded our car after only 20.

Next up, we got in line to meet Mickey and Minnie at their new location! They had a posted wait time of 35 minutes which was pretty accurate.
IMG_1602.JPG

I think we were talking about her jewelry. :)
STUDIO_REDCARPETACHAR_20160610_7712307721.jpeg

She is fabulous! This outfit is so cute.. It's hard to tell from the picture but she had rhinestones and glitter on everything. A girl after my own heart. ;)
STUDIO_REDCARPETACHAR_20160610_7712307722.jpeg

Next up was the main mouse himself! I sometimes have to question the abilities of the PhotoPass photographers.. This picture isn't even close to being centered and half of Heather's arm is missing. People pay a lot of money for Memory Maker so getting pictures like this is pretty disappointing to say the least.
STUDIO_REDCARPETBCHAR_20160610_7712317505.jpeg

We agreed to not tell Minnie. :)

It was finally time for one of our most anticipated ADR's of the trip.. 50's Prime Time Cafe! We ate here last year on a whim and loved it, so it was a must do again this year.
IMG_1603.JPG

We checked in at 12:35pm and were told to wait until our table was ready. The theming here is so well done.
IMG_1604.JPG

IMG_1605.JPG

We were finally called back at 1:05pm and were introduced to our server, Aunt Deb. She took our drink orders and told us we needed to have the table set before she returned. Well, this is new. We just stared at each other like o_O

If I ever learned anything from watching SpongeBob as a kid it's this: the fork goes on the left. Anybody else remember that episode? :hilarious: Aunt Deb returned with our drinks and told us that we'd done a great job. Whew!
IMG_1606.JPG

IMG_1607.JPG

IMG_2314.JPG

I went with Grandma's Chicken Pot Pie, which is the same thing I had last year, but it was so good and I couldn't resist getting it again!
IMG_1609.JPG

Heather went with Cousin Ann's Traditional Meatloaf.
IMG_1608.JPG

Aunt Deb was pretty easy on us, but we were also pretty well behaved. ;) It is extremely difficult to sit without putting your elbows on the table! The table next to us kept getting in trouble for sitting like that and also for having their phones out.

There was a girl in their party who is a CM at BBB at Disney Springs. And I know that because she was broadcasting it to the entire restaurant. It's great that you get to work in this magical place, but you're actually ruining the magic by sharing "behind the scenes" information loud enough for everybody else to hear. It was incredibly annoying.

Anyway.. Aunt Deb made Heather eat some more of her green beans before we were allowed to order dessert. I went with Dad's Brownie Sundae, which we also had last year but agreed we needed it again. :p
IMG_1611.JPG

Heather went with Mom's Favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter Layers Cake. SO GOOD.
IMG_1610.JPG

We did a lot more "food sharing" this trip and it worked out well because we were able to try a lot more things!

I can't recommend eating here enough.. The food is great and it's good old fashioned fun, especially when the CM's are on their A-game.

This makes me so excited because I have literally been switching around my ADRs like a madwoman and booked this on a whim. It's really all that's available now for the day I'll be there in November so I am glad to hear good things!! (I think I am stuck with this so don't tempt me otherwise.. LOL)) And the food looks delish :) :)

I think 50's Prime Time looks so cute, but I don't know that I'd actually like that kind of interaction... I'm strange. LOL!

I don't think you're strange, I haven't been there for the same reason. I'm thinking I might actually get annoyed if someone keeps telling me to get my elbows off the table (it is something I do :D)
Maybe someday

@blgauger Great trip report, good luck on a Disney/castle proposal!

Exactly! it's just not something I think I'd enjoy and I wouldn't want to make everyone else uncomfortable, so I just haven't gone! LOL. My elbows are always on the table!
