Trip Report The Princesses Take On Disney!

We have returned from another magical, pixie dust filled trip to WDW! We accomplished A LOT considering the time of year we visited, including some new things!

If you didn't get a chance to read my PTR and would like to, you can find it here:

And now, without further ado...

Day 1: Travel Day, 6/7/16

Being that we don't live together, we finished packing at our respective houses and then met at my parents' (which is right in the middle) to put things in our big, shared suitcase. We struggle every year to be under the weight requirement lol. Our airline has a 40 pound limit or else you have to pay an additional fee, so we take carry ons (as big as permitted) and stuff them full as well. Anyway, we got everything packed and weighed our suitcase to see where we stood... 48 pounds. Not even close. :hilarious: So we started unloading and putting things in our carry ons, deciding that some things could be left behind, etc. Finally we got it down to 39 pounds and were ready to go!

This was one of the things that had to stay behind. :( Everybody kept asking me who I would miss more: my boyfriend, Dylan, or Tink. The jury is still out on that one. ;)

Ready to roll!

We had a 7:00pm flight out of Latrobe, PA so got on the road at 3:00pm. It takes just under 2 hours to get there from home and the airport only has one gate, making security a breeze. We stopped near the airport and grabbed dinner at Denny's.

We arrived at the airport at 6pm and had checked our bag, gone through security, and used the restroom all by 6:15pm. Gotta love it! Our flight actually took off at 6:54, so just a few minutes ahead of schedule which was nice.

Peace out PA!

I sat next to this lady on the plane that I will absolutely never forget. I don't even know how to begin to describe her! She was probably in her 60's or 70's and was an absolute diva - LOVE IT. She talked to us the entire flight and we pretty much learned her life story lol. She has a house here in PA and another in FL. She was flying down for the week to attend her granddaughter's preschool graduation. Like I said, we literally talked about everything, but once she found out we were heading to Disney she shared that she worked as a CM for her first job in 1971. She alternated between playing Dopey and working concessions (sometimes in the same day). She went to college and worked as a nurse for 30 years. It's hard to describe here, but she was HILARIOUS and we quoted her throughout our trip lol. Just to give you an idea.. At one point the lady in front of us turned around and said, "Could you talk quieter?" We were honestly not talking loudly, and certainly not as loudly as the man behind us. But she looks at us and goes, "I know enough to not cause trouble on a plane, but I've done my service to this country and I don't have to listen to her!" And then after getting off the plane, she saw the lady bending over getting something out of her bag and she goes, "I oughta go over there and kick her right in the ***." :hilarious: She was something else. Sorry, that was more wordy than I anticipated!

Anyway, we landed at 8:46, also ahead of schedule! The flight was a little bumpy due to the storm, but nothing major! We headed right for my favorite thing at MCO...

I GET SO EXCITED ABOUT MAGICAL EXPRESS. :D

We boarded immediately and pulled out right away at 9:20pm.

Magical Express selfie! The excitement is evident!

We stopped at Coronado Springs first, and then our stop, All Star Sports! We arrived at 10pm.

Last year our pin numbers weren't setup properly and we had major issues at the end of the week sorting it all out. So the first thing we did this year upon arrival was head straight to the front desk to make sure they got setup the right way. We talked with Rachel who was an absolutely magical first CM to interact with. I made the comment that she should be working as a princess because she just had the energy and silliness for it. The CM's really do make all the difference!

Dylan and I stopped to grab lunch at the old timey restaurant in the middle of the park (the name escapes me). It was nothing special. However, I was responsible for cleaning off the table that we sat at. The people who sat there before us literally left everything (leftover food, garbage, trays) on the table when they left. What's even more annoying is that a Uni employee wasn't right there to clean it up when they left. This was one of those moments where I struggled to not say "this would never happen at Disney." People amaze me.

After lunch, we went and found seats for the Hollywood Horror Show! I saw this on my last trip in 2010 and remembered really enjoying it, but couldn't really remember much about it. I'm so glad we took the time to see it again this trip because it was HILARIOUS! The perfect mix of interesting and funny. Definitely add this one to your park touring agenda.. We really enjoyed it!

After the show, we met back up with my family and boarded the Hogwarts Express!

Check out the right side of this picture.. That screen makes it seem like you're disappearing through the wall when you walk past it, just like in the movies. :)

It was a neat ride and a fun way to go from park to park! Unfortunately, we didn't find the time to ride it back to see the other version. :(

We're here!
IMG_3086.JPG

First on our to do list was the Poseidon's Fury show.. We waited 20 minutes (the length of the show) because they reached capacity for the previous show when we would have been the next people through. :banghead: My nephew was featured in the show, as was my dad. The host called him "Peyton from Arkansas" every time she needed him to do something, which was hilarious for whatever reason lol. During the first part of the show, my dad was on his phone emailing or something (dealing with an issue at work), which of course meant his phone was lit up. The host made a comment about "cell phone guy," which continued for the entirety of the show. :hilarious: It wasn't until the very end that she realized "cell phone guy" was with "Peyton from Arkansas." It was hilarious and made for a unique show experience for us! Lol

Next, we decided to ride Jurassic Park again since my dad hadn't gotten to ride it on our first day (and we loved it that much!) We waited 45 minutes, which was again longer than the posted wait time. It's a great ride though, so I guess it was worth the wait.

Here we go!

These are the "Tink dinosaurs" as we all liked to call them. She also enjoys chewing up the laundry. ;)

This is such a fun boat ride! It's so well done and the light spray that you get from the big drop feels great on a hot day!

We left the park around 7pm to have dinner at Hard Rock.
IMG_3102.JPG

I had some sort of alfredo pasta and it was pretty good! I was slacking on my picture and note taking at this point, so this is all I have for you lol.
IMG_3101.JPG

It was my nephew's birthday, so our waitress brought him a special dessert and sang to him. He loved it. :D

After dinner, we went back into the park because we had heard that The Hulk was up and running after it's refurbishment! The posted wait time was 40 minutes, but I think we waited less than that. It was a really smooth, fun ride! I'm glad we caught it before we left.

We walked on to Dr. Doom's Fear Fall as our last ride of the trip. This ride takes SO LONG to board and raise you up.. The anticipation was literally killing me lol. The actual drop wasn't bad at all, but holy man. Waiting for it to happen was terrible!

After our final ride, we met back up with my parents and Peyton to hit a few shops before heading home. We shopped until 11pm and then went home to get packed up.

I apparently forgot to post this earlier, so I'll add it now. :)

And this is the only picture that I have of Dylan and I from today lol. :)

So there you have it! We had an awesome trip and it only made me more excited to take Dylan to Disney. It took me way longer than anticipated to finish this TR up, but I know that many of you can relate. :) Thanks for following and be on the lookout for my PTR for Dylan and I's Disney trip in June.

See ya real soon! :p

I didn't even try! Lol. I loved the HP areas so much more than I thought I would. I could really go for a butter beer right about now too. :D

Oh my goodness me too! I was just looking up the recipe online... some seem so hard! I'm gonna try the one that's just vanilla ice cream and cream soda with butterscotch syrup... I actually bought a vanilla cream seltzer water and it has the after taste of butterbeer... this addiction is sick! Lol

Yes!!! I need to do that too. I was really hoping that I wouldn't like it so I didn't crave it at random times.. I wasn't so lucky lol.
