Trip Report The Princesses Take On Disney!

We have returned from another magical, pixie dust filled trip to WDW! We accomplished A LOT considering the time of year we visited, including some new things!

If you didn't get a chance to read my PTR and would like to, you can find it here:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-princesses-return.908683/

And now, without further ado...

Day 1: Travel Day, 6/7/16

Being that we don't live together, we finished packing at our respective houses and then met at my parents' (which is right in the middle) to put things in our big, shared suitcase. We struggle every year to be under the weight requirement lol. Our airline has a 40 pound limit or else you have to pay an additional fee, so we take carry ons (as big as permitted) and stuff them full as well. Anyway, we got everything packed and weighed our suitcase to see where we stood... 48 pounds. Not even close. :hilarious: So we started unloading and putting things in our carry ons, deciding that some things could be left behind, etc. Finally we got it down to 39 pounds and were ready to go!

This was one of the things that had to stay behind. :( Everybody kept asking me who I would miss more: my boyfriend, Dylan, or Tink. The jury is still out on that one. ;)

Ready to roll!
IMG_2140.JPG

We had a 7:00pm flight out of Latrobe, PA so got on the road at 3:00pm. It takes just under 2 hours to get there from home and the airport only has one gate, making security a breeze. We stopped near the airport and grabbed dinner at Denny's.

We arrived at the airport at 6pm and had checked our bag, gone through security, and used the restroom all by 6:15pm. Gotta love it! Our flight actually took off at 6:54, so just a few minutes ahead of schedule which was nice.

Peace out PA!

IMG_2145.JPG

I sat next to this lady on the plane that I will absolutely never forget. I don't even know how to begin to describe her! She was probably in her 60's or 70's and was an absolute diva - LOVE IT. She talked to us the entire flight and we pretty much learned her life story lol. She has a house here in PA and another in FL. She was flying down for the week to attend her granddaughter's preschool graduation. Like I said, we literally talked about everything, but once she found out we were heading to Disney she shared that she worked as a CM for her first job in 1971. She alternated between playing Dopey and working concessions (sometimes in the same day). She went to college and worked as a nurse for 30 years. It's hard to describe here, but she was HILARIOUS and we quoted her throughout our trip lol. Just to give you an idea.. At one point the lady in front of us turned around and said, "Could you talk quieter?" We were honestly not talking loudly, and certainly not as loudly as the man behind us. But she looks at us and goes, "I know enough to not cause trouble on a plane, but I've done my service to this country and I don't have to listen to her!" And then after getting off the plane, she saw the lady bending over getting something out of her bag and she goes, "I oughta go over there and kick her right in the ***." :hilarious: She was something else. Sorry, that was more wordy than I anticipated!

Anyway, we landed at 8:46, also ahead of schedule! The flight was a little bumpy due to the storm, but nothing major! We headed right for my favorite thing at MCO...

I GET SO EXCITED ABOUT MAGICAL EXPRESS. :D
IMG_2146.JPG

We boarded immediately and pulled out right away at 9:20pm.
IMG_2149.JPG

Magical Express selfie! The excitement is evident!
IMG_2150.JPG

We stopped at Coronado Springs first, and then our stop, All Star Sports! We arrived at 10pm.

Last year our pin numbers weren't setup properly and we had major issues at the end of the week sorting it all out. So the first thing we did this year upon arrival was head straight to the front desk to make sure they got setup the right way. We talked with Rachel who was an absolutely magical first CM to interact with. I made the comment that she should be working as a princess because she just had the energy and silliness for it. The CM's really do make all the difference!

The characters made their way around and we had some fun interactions! I did better with writing down conversations later in the trip, but I can't really remember all of the ones during our breakfast.

IMG_2178.JPG

Snow White talked to us about our forest friends picking out the same shirt for us that morning. We also discussed finding me some forest friends to take care of my hair for me each day. She said that she has birds who help with hers.. It's much easier for them to get her bow in place since they can fly up on top of her head and see what they're doing. :)
IMG_2181.JPG

I really enjoyed our Ariel interaction but I cannot remember what we talked about! :( I know that she asked me where we had swam in from and told us she was from Aquatica.
IMG_2183.JPG

Jasmine always makes me feel really uncomfortable because she's so matter of fact lol. My dad calls her the "dads of Disney's eye candy." :hilarious: She told us that Aladdin had volunteered to watch Abu for the day so she was enjoying her time off from that!
IMG_2185.JPG

And then there's this little gem. :p I have to say that all 5 princesses that we met here were probably the most stunning versions of each that I've ever seen! Does anybody else try really hard to imagine what face characters look like without their wigs and makeup?
IMG_2189.JPG

We finished up at 10:20am and headed out. Thoughts on Cinderella's Royal Table... I think it's a fun meal simply because it's in the castle. Probably a one-time must do for any little princess and I'm sure I'll take my kids here one day. I would have been content to wait until then to go for my second time, but I really wanted Heather to experience it since Cinderella is her favorite. However, I didn't really see that big of a reaction out of her.. Certainly not as much as I had expected. So that was a little disappointing. :( Especially considering how expensive it is to eat here and we spent 2 TS credits on it.

We had a 10:30am FP+ for Splash Mountain so we headed that way! I snapped a few pictures while we walked.

This area will never get old to me!

We were seated right up front for Splash Mountain so I knew we were going to get soaked! That was quite alright with me because the humidity was killer!

This is definitely one of the best themed rides on property. It has so many little details that a lot of people probably don't even notice! I know that I noticed new things this year that I hadn't before.
IMG_2191.JPG

IMG_2192.JPG

I love this picture! Don't worry, I have an Otter Box on my phone. :)
IMG_2194.JPG

Into the briar patch we go! My hands look so weird. :hilarious: I had put my phone down and just wasn't quick enough with getting them back up in the air before the picture!
MK_SPLASH_20160608_7710237654.jpeg

How did we make out, you ask? Splash Mountain, you win again. :hilarious: We were absolutely soaked but it didn't take long at all to start drying off.
IMG_2195.JPG

After this, we hopped on the train and rode it to the front of the park. We headed out to take a break back at the room for a few hours. We waited about 10 minutes for a bus and boarded at 11:30am. We arrived back at the resort at 12pm and took a nap in the air conditioning!

After we woke up and got freshened up, we headed to the pool bar for a drink around 4:15pm. I had a Sunken Treasure but can't remember what Heather had. It was pretty good!
IMG_2197.JPG

IMG_2198.JPG

We then headed for a bus back to MK and waited about 15 minutes before one pulled up. We arrived back to the park a little after 5pm.

We decided to give Pinocchio's Village Haus a try and we were not disappointed! The service was a little slow, but the food was great.
IMG_1578.JPG

We both had the Chicken Parmesan and Tiramisu Gelato for dessert.

After dinner, we looked around in the shops on Main Street for a bit. I stumbled across the wedding stuff... :inlove: When I get married, can I do my gift registry at Disney? Is that a thing?
IMG_2199.JPG

IMG_2203.JPG

These are a definite go for me. I will absolutely be incorporating them into my wedding pictures! They'll be my first purchase after I get engaged haha.
IMG_2202.JPG

I sent this to Dylan.. Hint hint. ;)
IMG_2201.JPG

Dylan's little brother has a newfound obsession with Star Wars, so I had to take these for him! I had put my hair in a pile on top of my head when we went back to the room, so these hats weren't fitting very nicely haha.
IMG_2204.JPG

IMG_2205.JPG

Is this not the cutest little baby outfit you've ever seen!?
IMG_2207.JPG

We had a 6:45pm FP+ for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train so we headed there after we finished up our shopping.

I absolutely love the Snapchat filters that pop up in the parks!
IMG_2208.JPG

I really do like this ride.. I just can't imagine actually waiting in line for it.

After Seven Dwarfs, we decided to wait standby for Pooh. The wait time was posted at 35 minutes, but we ended up only waiting about 20.

I'm going to rant for a minute... The interactive queues are great HOWEVER they are also super annoying because you constantly have kids pushing in front of you, running into your back, etc. in an attempt to get to the next activity. And of course (most) parents don't say a word to them about it. Heather and I are both elementary teachers so we have A LOT of patience. But I don't have patience for lack of parenting. I'm always extra thankful for the way my parents raised me when I'm in Disney. And now I'm finished.

We had a 7:50pm FP+ for Space Mountain so headed in that direction. I took advantage of the capability to book additional FP+'s from my phone while waiting to ride and grabbed a 9pm FP+ for Buzz. THIS IS SO CONVENIENT. Thank you Disney for finally making this a thing! We waited in line for 15 minutes.. Not sure what the hold up was.
MK_SPACEMOUNTAINA_20160608_7710113170.jpeg

Next up, Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor! The wait time was posted as 20 minutes, but we only waited 15 and that included the entire pre-show. This is one of my all-time favorite things to do at MK.. It never gets old to me. :D Our "that guy" was super boring though, so that was disappointing. I love the theming here as well. It actually does feel like you're entering the Laugh Floor!
IMG_1580.JPG

IMG_2213.JPG

Fortunately, we collected enough laughs to open the doors so we were able to head to our 9pm Buzz FP+! While waiting in line, I booked a 9:15pm FP+ for Dumbo. I am SO BAD at this game. It's embarrassing.
MK_BUZZLIGHTYEARRIDE_20160609_7710982265.jpeg

After defeating Zurg, we headed for Storybook Circus. We stopped on the way to dance with The Incredibles for a few minutes!

MK_ROVERFANTASY1_20160609_7710997465.jpeg

IMG_2214.JPG

On our way to Dumbo, we passed a snack cart and decided that we would stop and grab a pretzel after our ride. However, when we tried to do so, the carts had closed! It was only 9:30pm and the park was open until 1am, so I thought that was a little strange. We did end up locating pretzels at one of the carts off to the side of the castle. We sat on the benches near the cart and watched Celebrate the Magic and Wishes!
IMG_2215.JPG

We let the crowds clear out after the fireworks and then moved to Main Street for the second Celebrate the Magic and the Electrical Parade. Here was our view! I can't recommend waiting out the crowds enough.
IMG_2216.JPG

Immediately following Celebrate the Magic, we heard some commotion off to the left. Turns out that there had just been a proposal! It was so special to witness! A PhotoPass photographer snatched them up and took off with them to take pictures. It is my absolute dream to get engaged at Disney! :inlove:

We waited about 10 minutes and then it was time for the parade!

Is this new? I thought Cinderella used to be in a different float and don't ever remember seeing her carriage! It was beautiful! Look at Fairy Godmother making a heart with her hands. :inlove:

After the parade, we walked on to Pirates. We sat in one of the last rows and didn't get wet at all. I know that's been a concern after the refurbishment.

We then headed for Big Thunder, which had a posted wait of 30 minutes. We only waited about 15. I swear they make this ride more wicked at nighttime!

After our wildest ride in the wilderness, we decided to head out for the night. We waited about 20 minutes for a bus and arrived back to our room at 1:15am. We showered and crawled right into bed after a long, magical first full day in Disney!

Goodnight, beautiful.

Good stuff so far!

Sorry I didn't get to spit in your foo...err, I mean...say hi this trip! I'm sure we probably missed each other one of the days in passing! My wife and I got selected ALOT during this trip even though I had a stroller to push... They made me do it and had to push my son to the other side a few times... Annoying...

Can't wait to see more!

It's really disappointing. :( Next time!!

I saw a mother pushing a double stroller who got selected and had to stand and wait for her husband to get through bag check before she could leave the stroller to walk through. I guess it's for the best but it does get annoying when it's hot and people are pushing you and running into you!

Day 3: Magic Kingdom, 6/9/16

We slept in until 9:30am (probably didn't actually get up till closer to 10am ) and got to the bus stop around 11am. There was a bus waiting, but it was full. Fortunately, a second bus pulled up a few minutes later. We arrived at 11:30am and quickly made it through security. We hopped on the train and rode to Frontierland for our Big Thunder FP+. This ride never gets old! We stopped to take a few PhotoPass pictures before moving on.
MK_THEGLADE_20160609_7711345393.jpeg

He told us to be sassy.
MK_THEGLADE_20160609_7711345013.jpeg

We then hopped back on the train to Fantasyland for our lunch ADR at my favorite... Be Our Guest! The train took a reallllllly long time to load and get moving, so we didn't arrive until 12:30pm, making us a tad bit late. It took about 15 minutes to get through the line and to our table.
IMG_2251.JPG

We chose to eat in the West Wing, which was mostly empty and quiet!
IMG_2248.JPG

IMG_2249.JPG

We both started with French Onion Soup, which I have be craving since last year when we ate here! I hate onions, but Heather had made me try some of hers and I immediately became obsessed! I order it everywhere we go back home. IT WAS SO YUMMY. Heather actually got a stomach bug this past winter and French Onion Soup was the last thing she had eaten before she got sick. So she ended up not being able to stomach it, and I simply couldn't let it go to waste. Two soups for me!
IMG_1584.JPG

We both ordered the Carved Turkey Sandwich for our entree. It was really good, too!
IMG_1583.JPG

And the real reason I eat at BOG... Dessert! We both had The Master's Cupcake. SO PERFECT.
IMG_1586.JPG

Needless to say, we were absolutely stuffed. This is such a great use of a QS credit, in my opinion. Then again, BOG is my favorite restaurant on property so I may be a little biased. I can't recommend eating here enough! We headed out at 1:35pm and stopped for a few pictures on our way through.

We walked to Main Street for our FP+ to meet Tink. I was really excited for this one.. I couldn't wait to tell her that I named my puppy after her! She got excited as soon as we stepped up because she saw herself on my shirt. I then showed her a picture of my Tink and she again, was really excited! I took a small photo mat frame and told her that it was all for her and that I was going to put a picture of my pup in it. She made such a big deal over getting the whole thing to herself!
MK_TSFAIRIESACHAR_20160609_7711502074.jpeg

We had an absolutely fantastic interaction with her. We talked about pirates, never growing up, and staying away from "Wendy bird" because she always tells Peter to grow up. I love the made up words that she uses such as "tinker-tude and flit-tastic."
MK_TSFAIRIESACHAR_20160609_7711502078.jpeg

I give the CM who was playing her this day major props. She spent a LONG time with us and she didn't stop talking or stutter even once. She kept the conversation going and it flowed naturally. I can't imagine that's easy to do.. they usually only have to hold short conversations before the next person comes along. I'm so glad we got to meet her!
MK_TSFAIRIESACHAR_20160609_7711502086.jpeg

We left Tink and decided to get in line to meet Stitch. We waited about 20 minutes and it was worth every second! He was absolutely hilarious.. he had the voice down perfectly and even made sounds like Stitch. I laughed the entire time!
MK_TWNSQR_20160609_7711535232.jpeg

After he finished signing my frame, he "licked" it before handing it back to me. Then, he picked his nose and dotted the i in his name with whatever he found up there on Heather's. :hilarious:
MK_TWNSQR_20160609_7711535236.jpeg

Before we left, he asked for kisses. I'm so glad the photographer captured this! It's one of my favorites from the trip.
MK_TWNSQR_20160609_7711536664.jpeg

The CM that was with Stitch (Michael from NY) is one that I remember from trips in the past. He is so funny and extremely dynamic. I would wait in line to meet him, honestly. :hilarious: He talked to us about a lot of different things, including paying attention to the signs of an approaching storm. I'm always happy to see him when I'm at Magic Kingdom!

We went up to the train station to grab a spot to watch the parade at 2:30pm. I really wish that it was common knowledge that the parade won't make it to Main Street until about 3:25pm because I hate having to claim a spot an hour early. Last year, we sat front and center with a direct view down Main Street. This year, that area was roped off for "guests utilizing VIP services." What the heck is that? Somebody enlighten me please, because I was upset that I couldn't watch from my favorite spot!

We sat off to the lefthand side, which was fine and had a great view as well. However, there was indeed a storm approaching and the announcement kept coming over the loudspeakers that the parade had been delayed. This continued until we finally decided to give up at 3:30pm. They never did have the parade that day, but I'm not sure how long they continued "delaying" before officially cancelling.

We hopped on the train to Fantasyland to ride The Little Mermaid. We waited about 20 minutes.

Shell-fie :p

This animatronic is so awesome.. I always look forward to this part of the ride!

After our journey under the sea, we headed for Philharmagic which was a walk on, followed by the carousel which had about a 10 minute wait. I will never be too old for this!
IMG_2261.JPG

We walked toward Tomorrowland to hit the other carousel and the PeopleMover! Unfortunately, both of them were shut down. :(

Since those plans didn't work out, we went to check out Bonjour! Village Gifts where I decided that I needed literally one of everything. Ugh, it was seriously painful to shop there knowing I couldn't have it all! I did get a really cute shirt that you'll see I changed into soon. :)

We were trying to kill some time before our dinner ADR, so just kind of walked around the Beauty and the Beast area for a little while.
IMG_1588.JPG

IMG_2264.JPG

We slowly made our way toward our dinner ADR at none other than... Be Our Guest! Two times in one day? I'm not even mad.
IMG_1590.JPG

IMG_1591.JPG

We decided to just check in early rather than try to race around and fit something else in before our scheduled time. Our reservation was for 6:15pm, but we checked in at 6pm. We were given a pager and told that they were running behind, so it would likely be after our reservation time anyhow.

I killed time the obvious way...

We were called into the castle at 6:30pm and were seated in the ballroom. Though I didn't write down her name, our server was fantastic!
IMG_2269.JPG

We started with some yummy bread service that I very easily could have filled up on!
IMG_1592.JPG

I know you're shocked, but I ordered French Onion Soup to start. Three cups in one day? I was FULL but it was so worth it. :p
IMG_1593.JPG

Heather opted for the Potato Leek Soup after her lunch debacle. I tasted it and YUM. I would definitely go for a bowl of this myself, but that would mean not getting French Onion Soup. The struggle. :cautious:
IMG_1594.JPG

Our server suggested the Grilled Strip Steak and so that's what we both went with. Such a good decision.. It was fantastic, as were the fries! The only problem was that I was still kind of full from lunch so I was struggling a bit. :(
IMG_1595.JPG

Obviously, I could't NOT have dessert. ;) We each went with the Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake, which I've tasted before. It was just as good as I remembered!
IMG_1596.JPG

I still had a decent amount of food left on my plate so my server kind of forced me to take it with me. I ended up throwing it away once we got outside because I knew I wouldn't eat it, nor did I want to carry it around the rest of the night. We don't even have a microwave in our room, let alone a knife to cut steak with. I felt bad, but the deed is done!

We then went to meet The Master. :inlove: I absolutely adore this meet and greet! Last year when we met him, he danced with me and I was really looking forward to asking him to dance again this year! However, there was a little girl dressed as Belle a few families in front of us and he started to spin her all around the room. I didn't feel right asking him to dance with me and didn't want people to say mean things about me so I refrained. :( Lol. I'm still disappointed because the photographer took some awesome pictures of our dance last time. Oh well, hugs will do!

He really is a gentleman!
MK_BEOURGUESTCHAR_20160609_7711866371.jpeg

We left the castle at 7:30pm and headed for our Haunted Mansion FP+. When we got to the front of the line, the CM opened the door and said, "Your time has come." The CM's here and at TOT are so much more in character in the evenings.. I love it!

Our ride was great but I have one small complaint. Isn't there a better solution for managing the crowd of people coming out of the stretching room and getting into the line to board the doom buggies? It's always total chaos and people push and shove like their lives depend on it. I don't know what the answer is, but the current situation certainly isn't ideal.

We stopped for a few pictures on the way out.

In love with your Ariel and prince Eric photos! I tell my boyfriend he looks like Eric all the time! Now if only Ariel was my actual twin... My dream is to get proposed to in Disney, (who's isn't) but j will not get my hopes up for fear of disappointment! Lol! So excited you are going back with your man... Us girls can dream.. We need those bride ears for our collections. I am now starving thanks to your double dose of be our guest. Is it acceptable to eat French onion soup for breakfast? I think I may have to copy both your meals exactly! Loving your report sooooo much!! :)

It looks like you two had so much fun...looking forward to the rest of your report. I know what you mean about the HM problem. I got verbally abused last trip because I accidentally bumped someone while trying to keep up with my family. I'm quite sensitive, and it put a damper on the rest of my day! With both of you being teachers, I'm surprised that I haven't seen more adult beverages in your report. Being a teacher myself, I know they are much needed and well deserved after a long school year!

Who doesn't want to be twins with a mermaid.. I mean REALLY. :D I told Dylan that I either have to get engaged or married at Disney (and he's totally opposed to getting married there) so he needs to make his choice. :hilarious: My fingers are crossed for both of us! I think the soup for breakfast is a logical choice. Too bad we don't live near each other.. we could have a French Onion Soup breakfast date. :p Both of my meals were fantastic and are definitely worth copying!

We had a blast! People are grumpy in the parks as it is, and then you throw in a messy situation like that and it's just asking for trouble. I only had 2 alcoholic beverages the entire trip (though I would have liked to have tried more!) I get terrible headaches if I drink when it's extremely hot out.. Therefore I dealt with 2 headaches during our stay. :( It was disappointing because there are so many yummy drink options in WDW!

The humidity was ABSOLUTELY KILLER last week! But you ladies look wonderful and look like you handled it well. Enjoying your trip report so far!! I was so disappointed that you could only have the master's cupcake during lunch, I had no idea!! I was looking forward to it and turns out we couldnt have it. The rolls at Be Our Guest are AMAZING though!!! Your trip is awesome so far and I can't wait to read more
