Trip Report The ONE with the Sisters

I just did a quick google search “songs about ruling the world” and Tears for Fears was number one. There are some interesting choices in the top 20 including Cold Plays Viva la Vida. I think that song would be more appropriate than Ms Estefans.I vote Conga because it's the only one I've heard and I really liked it.
Plus @Darstarr , there really isn't a lot of songs about global conquest.

SATURDAY APRIL 15, cont
There were two women sitting near us during the first show. They were just sitting casually, listening, not really participating, just there because they heard the music, until Blue October played their song Moving On (so long). They got up and were dancing and having fun. When the song was over one of the women turned to us and said, “that is the best song I have ever heard. My divorce has been going in for five years and just became final. That song is amazing.” We made plans to meet up for the next show. Promising to save each other seats.
I am not sure what we did but we did not venture too far and we got in line early for the next show.
We met up with our new friends, the recent Blue October converts and had great seats. There was a family in the row in front of us and the woman turned to me and said, “just a warning, we are standers and dancers and we are NOT small people. We are all over six feet.” I assured her we would be ok. Her sons were indeed over 6 ft tall. But it was nice to see their entire family having fun and enjoying something together. I spoke to one of her son’s and he worked at Universal Studios so they were a local family out for a night of fun.
But…the clouds rolled in and the concert was ended early.
It was pouring so we headed across the way to the cover off to the right of the American pavilion. There weren't any empty tables but there were two people working on lap tops (obviously they worked for Disney) so we asked if we could share the table with them.
We grabbed some beer from the Kiosk that was close by. I really wanted one if those blackberry moonshine things but it was coming down hard and the que was uncovered. Two tables over were the bands families waiting out the storm like we were.
Our GotG return time was getting close..
Would Blue October be able to play their last show? Should we hang out and wait? Or head to GotG? We hemmed, we hawed.
Then the decision was made for us:

I just got all caught up with your last few installments and was amazed at how much you got done at DHS and Epcot! Our favorite beer at Epcot during the F&G Festival is at The American Adventure called "Ghost in the Machine" by Parish Brewing Company! My husband's favorite song at GOTG is also "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" and he's been on it numerous times this past year. I only went on it once and wasn't paying attention to the song because I kept yelling out to myself not to throw up! 
It was a one and done for me unfortunately! Glad you got to enjoy Blue October and enjoyed some good conversation with the other guests near you! You really are showing your sister such a great time on this trip!

We lined up for Guardians.
It looks pretty cool at night.
I must admit I was a little nervous. My first ride was unbelievable. I felt like I was flying. It was such a free and liberating feeling. I thought it was the closest I would ever be to being a bird. And the experience was punctuated by the perfect musical accompaniment. What if this time it was an inferior song? Would GotG be ruined for me?
Aaaaand now I am hungry…
And what would a Darstarr day at Disney be without one of these?
Round two…
What was I worried about?
We got Everybody wants to rule the World again! Another awesome ride!!!
We went straight to the bus in the pouring rain after our ride. On the bus ride back my sister asked if we could get another of those pizzas. “Of course”, I said. And she said, “oh good, I have been thinking about it all day.” We are so much alike it is scary!
I tried to mobile order it but it was not showing up on the menu. I was afraid it was a yesterday special. We got off the bus and hustled to the Mara before they closed. I spoke to the cashier about the flatbread not being on the mobile order but she assured me they had it and she rang us up for one.
We were very happy!

We had no real plan for today. Other than to go home. But I had made us Animal Kingdom reservations just in case. My sister got a three day Florida resident ticket through her work. It was cheaper to get the three days than two but originally we were not going to go a third day but then I was able to purchase an AP so AK it was!
We soaked up the view from our balcony for a bit then we walked around the resort.

The smell was not good…

And, of course, trunks up, for luck.
Then we loaded our stuff into my sister’s car and drove to Animal Kingdom

We had no real goals for today except lunch and the safari. And my sister really wanted to see FotLK.
We parked and I took a photo of our location because I forget that kind of stuff.

Just in time for the 11:00 FotLK show!
While waiting in line we mobile ordered lunch.
And a small annoyance: I really dislike it when CM’s say “fill in all available space” then in their next breath say, “keep your parties together.”
It is one or the other.

After the show we went and got our lunch at Satu’li Canteen.
We both got the potato hash with chicken and creamy herb dressing. So dang yummy.
My Sis was impressed with the grill and had to take a picture for her husband who does not joke about grilling.

This giraffe was sitting. Our guide said that it was rare for them to sit. If I think about it, I do not believe I have ever seen a giraffe sit.
And I guess they don’t sit because it looks really hard to get up.

We still had time so went to see the Gorillas.
But first the meerkats…
We made it to the glass viewing area for the gorillas but they were nowhere to be found. The CM assured us they were out and told us to try around back.
And we found them.

The circled gorilla is Grace who is not a little baby anymore. I think the arrow points to her mom? I don’t remember any more.
But this bachelor gorilla had the right idea
We then stopped at Mr Kamals for a snack.
And watched some real characters float by as we ate…
We had just a little more time. Besides the fact that I had to get to the airport there was a storm headed our way. But we were so close to Expedition Everest!
And it was only a 20 minute wait.
But it started to rain. Then harder. No pictures because it came down even harder still. We were in the covered portion of the que but the ride was down.
We had gambled. And lost. BIG TIME.
We headed to the car. My sister had her poncho but mine was long gone.
We waited for the tram in the pouring rain. There was a family with 5 kids, the youngest just about a year or so that the father held to his chest. My sister gave him her poncho for the baby.
By the time we got to the car we were soaked to our skivvies.
We changed in her car then headed to the airport.

I can see how you and your sister are so much alike. It makes doing Disney so much easier and more enjoyable when you do it with someone that is so easy going and just having fun! It's too bad about ending the trip with a rainstorm and it was so considerate of your sister to give up her poncho to that dad for the baby!

I'm happy you didn't cave to my harassments and change your song. What would've been the fun in that? And I feel you on the parking lot picture. I swear half the time I feel like I'm losing my mind and amazed how much i can't remember.

This report is also the one with the music. I listened to Blue October on Spotify and I remember the song, “Hate Me”. They are now back on rotation w/the Canadian group Blue Rodeo because every time you wrote about Blue October I thought Blue Rodeo.

My kids question every move I make at Disney. Why? How Come? Blah blah blah. I hate to say it but my sister just did as she was told. She had total faith. (Btw, my son’s GF’s mom told me my son said I was THE BEST at Disney. Then why fight me on everything?)
