Trip Report THE ONE FOR FOOD AND WINE, September 2019 *COMPLETE*

Friday Sept 20 cont
I was in charge of this group, clearly, but I told all the ladies from the get go “you do you”. If there was something that interests you or something you do not want to participate in then do your thing. We all agreed and of course J made fun of me. But it was a good ground rule and I stand by it!
This made for peace and harmony because 4 women traveling together can get dicey.
Ha ha. Just kidding
Next stop!!!
There was one CM (ONE!) alternating between the mobile order line and the regular line. In other words, mobile order did not save me very much time. But she did give me a heavy pour, which was nice because B and I were sharing this.
It was kind of perfect timing because the tiki room was just letting out. SIL commented she had never done the tiki room so we decided to get our dole whips and head in. (Plus, reading the crowd, I think a few of the ladies could sit for a bit in the AC).
We gathered up our whips
and headed to the Tiki Room line. Only there was a big sign saying this attraction was closed. But....but...it was JUST open!!!
Did I mention it was a party night??? There was low low crowds so perhaps they were cutting down to one show? Per day?
Ok, let’s go see if HM is back up. The restroom? Why yes please.
Cool chair outside the restroom.
HM was down. Still. I thought sitting and AC would be good for the ladies so we did Mickey’s Philharmagic. We then had a FP for Big Thunder which everyone enjoyed, followed by a FP for Splash Mountain which no one wanted to do. It was our last FP and we would be heading back but no one wanted to get wet. I didnt care either way so I cancelled the FP and we started to leave. I wanted to make a FP for Epcot for later. SIL loves Soarin and she wanted to make sure J went on it. But I could not make a FP for Soarin because we still had a multi experience FP linked to our MB’s. Can’t cancel those. So I told the ladies to follow me and we tapped in at the Princess Faire thingy. The CM gave us an odd look and an even odder look when we turned and walked away. I said over my shoulder, “burning a multi experience fastpass.”
It was looking a little stormy.
“Why are you taking pictures of the walkway?”
Me: “Because it’s new.” (Duh!)
We returned to our room just after 1:00.

B and I headed to the pool.
It was pretty windy or as Monica would say...

I didnt stay too long. I was excited to get to Epcot and meet some magicians. B, exercising her power to “do you”, stayed behind for some alone time. That made me happy. Traveling in groups is great but we need to take care of ourselves so we don't end up like this:

Friday Sept 20 cont
I went back to the room expecting to change and head out on my own but SIL and J had rallied. We headed to the monorail and my youngest, Dre called me.
“So and so tried to beat up Dad after my game today!”
Me: “the freshman on your team tried to beat up your father?”
“Yes!”
Intriguing right? Here is the quick version. There is (was) a kid in JV football who was a real PItA! Throwing his helmet if things went wrong and yelling at his team mates all the time. The coach, who we can call Sam, did nothing.
After the game the boys were lined up to go back to the locker room. They leave the stadium in the opposite corner of where the spectators enter/exit. The parents are mulling about getting ready to leave and PitA boy and another head away from the team towards the parents. My husband had coached most of these boys for many years and still feels like they are his team (you can take the coach out of the .....however that saying goes.) He says to the boys “hey go line up with your team”.
B1:”No. They are A S S” (and lots more stuff that if I tried to write would look like this ***************)
More words then B1 gets in my husbands face and calls him a c sucking N. And lots more ****. Security comes then the boys mother starts in on my husband but another mom shut her down immediately.
In the end the two boys, who do not even go to the school, got kicked off the team. I still worry that one of their “friends” ( cough cough gang memebers) will go after my son.
And coach did nothing....
I had to hang up as we were geting on the monorail but are you kidding me???
Fake smile by me as I was so confused!
I texted B directions and sent her pictures so she could get to Epcot easily. But meanwhile I had a date with a magician or two or three....
Before the trip @Rista1313 put together a group chat for the many of us who were going to be down there. She sent out a general meetup at Epcot for this day hoping it would work out for many of us. (There were about 15 or so on the group chat)
@Figment Forever said she had plans to be in Epcot that day, which I believe was her final day so we all know how that goes. @dryerlintfan was also planning to be in Epcot but was probably going to be heading out before I arrived. (Party night?)
I think @Laura Loves Tigger was around too but she later explained that her daughter was not comfortable meeting strangers. I hear you!!! My SIL and J were very confused.
SIL: “ You’re not even on facebook and you are meeting strangers you met in a Disney chat room?!?”
I wish B was with us for these pictures but she was doing her thing.
We headed off to Canada as that was our meet up place. It’s like @Rista1313 can read my mind as that has become my traditional first stop. (In her TR she said she wanted to catch me before I got too deep into F and W. So smart!)
I walked right by her but in my defense
Then we found each other and Rista gives the best hugs!!!
SIL and J went to find a seat and drink their beers while Rista and I chatted. When the girls were done and ready to move on Rista and I said our goodbyes. Again I got an awesome hug and some good advice. She told me not to drink too much
We went in opposite directions. We were heading toward England when I decided to check the group chat to see if there were any straglers and to my surprise there was!!
@Tashifer90 were in the world for their wedding. Rista added them last minuteish to the group chat just in case. And they were, waiting in Canada by the DVC booth. I sent SIL and J on ahead and I went back and there they were!!!
It was so amazing to see them. We discussed Adams football jersey collection amongst other things.
It was so nice meeting you both! And congratulations again!
SIL sent me a pix of fish and chips so I was off. When I got there they hadn't saved me any. Not even one lousy chip.
