The new extended Fantasyland Vs Harry potter land??

EpcotExplorer: I don't really understand your position on this. I think we can all say we love Disney, but my love for WDW/Disney Brand doesn't take away from the fact that I also love Harry Potter and this addition looks nothing short of amazing. It's okay to love both. Going to Universal isn't like cheating on your lover. If I didn't see your user name, I'd say you were someone else.

I don't really understand why it's not OK to vote for whom you like more in the long run. :lol: I can't wait to see WWoHP. I can't wait to see FLE.


I see myself liking FLE more because it's already in what I like best.

And yea,I'm not saying Indy is anywhere near as popular as HP, but to say it's fading away is not true, IMO.

In the advertising splurge we have here I have to say that Disneys usuall blurb on WDW is the same its been for years, DLP is slightly better pushed as at least there advert is trailing something new, but Uni are now unleashing the marketing machine big time.

The new Fantasyland is my choice. Its not because I love what Disney is doing with it, its the fact that I couldnt care less about Harry Potter. I was actually glad Disney didnt get the rights to HP. Now my wife on the other hand is Harry Potter all the way. If Im going to get truly excited about a new land it would have to be: Muppet land, starwars or transformers cybertron.

Waverly place??? Awful idea. And if anyone thinks that Waverly place has bigger fans than harry potter they are kidding themselves!!!

I don't think that their marketing campaign is the problem. They have generated a ton of excitement for WWoHP. Besides, if you are so dead-set against Harry Potter to begin with, then I doubt that any amount of marketing would have impacted you.

I've been seeing HP commercials on many prime time shows I've been watching. Haven't you seen the ads (the one where the dragon is suddenly a roller coaster and a couple of kids are flying on broom sticks? :shrug: I see it all the time now, and I never thought Uni would advertise this much. I like it.

No i have not...and it's odd because we had the Olympics on all 3 weeks at my house, you would have thought that NBC-Uni would have put up some advertisements on one of their 5 networks that was showing the events.

I guess other than that I don't really watch the NBC networks.... :shrug:

But you know...I am on the internet alot and I notice that many many many websites have a Disney Banner somewhere....maybe Uni should try it as well?

That could be based on your cookies. :lol: I get Disney banners everywhere I go, too, because I'm on this website and other Disney ones.. If you were to visit Uni boards, you would see those instead.

well you might be right... but doesn't mean that I wouldn't have to go because the ads have enticed the girl...we do own all of the HP movies because of her...

But seriouly i have heard rumours about them adding jonas brothers stuff and hannah montana etc. Bad bad bad idea! Like the time everyone thought jonas bros were gonna take over rock n rollercoaster. That would suck.

I'm very biased here because I love the little mermaid and can't wait to see Ursula in a dark ride. BUT I do read the harry potter books and enjoy the movies.

I'm a full time college student and I don't get to go to WDW every year. I've only been 5 times (hopefully 6 by the end of summer) so when I go to Orlando, I don't want to 'waste' a day at Universal for one part of the park that is going to be SO crowded, even though I think the rides will terrify little kids, potter fans or not.

The only part that I'm excited for is the hope that Harry Potter will drag some Disney fans away from the parks so the lines will be shorter!

Yeah the lines put me off a bit (and i hate the fast pass at universal. paying for it is a rip off!) but its still very exciting. Little mermaid will be good though. Have to wait long time to see it
