My god it is soooooo beautiful.
I'll have to agree. I absolutely love the plantation style of our Haunted Mansion more than any other. I do wish the actual ride had more ties to Dixie, though. I know the gargoyles in the Stretching Room are inspired by French design, fitting in with New Orleans Square. The dueling portraits and the ballroom ghosts definitely evoke feelings of the South, as well. I'm sure there's plenty of details in the graveyard that are inspired directly from New Orleans. Would love to see someone do a study of the attraction that highlights all the Southern elements of the ride.

As much as I LOVE the ride there is always one thing that I have had a minor nitpick on. When we descend into the graveyard and we are looking back at the mansion, the roof looks nothing like the plantation facade and I dont get why they did it like that since the facade was completed long before the show building was so they had time to get that right. it is even worse in florida because its the same roof in the show building as in Disneyland and at least Disney's is a planatiaion house mansion, but with the victorian mansion facacde all of a sudden having a shingles style roof in the show building is even worse.

I ordered it the day it was available. Got in at $92, I think it's now over $150. I wouldn't pay list price but I'm happy with what I'll be paying, it looks like it'll be excellent.

Wait, I'm replying to mickEblu? Didn't recognize the poster because of the new avatar. I like this one better than the moose.

Just preordered it ( Marc Davis: In His Own Words) today on Amazon. Went back down to $105 for anyone interested. I need to start actually reading some of these books though. In the past year I’ve purchased Disneyland Inside Story, Walt Disney’s Disneyland, The Art of Disneyland and Disneyland Paris: From Sketch to Reality. I’ve only read Disneyland Inside Story so far.

So, Lisa and I went to Japan Day in Angel Stadium of Anaheim's parking lot before the game.

Ended up with a lot of swag, but at the "youtheory" booth.

One of the things I got was a full bottle of Mens Shilajit.

What the heck is Shilajit???

From the bottle...

>>Shilajit a natural mineral substance that exudes from rocks in the high altitude regions of the Himalayas. Shilijat is traditionally used as a rejuvenative and male reproductive tonic.*<<

But on another side of the bottle, we find this...

>>WARNING: Consuming this product can expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm.<<

Well, glad I bought the 3 by 10 Foot heavy duty vinyl Angels Banner for $20, at least that will be used.

I just love that Mickey & Minnie were married! I had no idea so I think that’s delightful! Ms. Taylor looks like she was having so much fun in all the photos! Whenever I think of Mickey & Minnie I always think of my son when he was little kissing Minnie’s cheek right next to Mickey and he got mad. So funny!

I guess if a frog can marry a pig than two very old mice can marry.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in history who has ever wanted this, but I wish they'd hang the screens telling you who got top 10 on Buzz Lightyear in the hallway leading up to the ride instead of at the end by the photo stations.

Also, twice now I've gotten the cart where the gun doesn't light up on the back when you hit a target which is very annoying.
